Thanks Nils, that is the official musical term for it; stretchy chord. Yep I had no idea what to call this song (as always) so I just went with whatever vibe it was giving off. Felt like something I'd hear on a beach in the Caribbean whilst drinking cocktails, hopefully other people feel the same way!
Thanks Chris. Glad you like it! Yea this one took some time, had to really figure out what to play over the changes that would flow smoothly. I also wanted there to be a strong melody that was simple, but then play it with enough feel so that it doesn't sound too basic. So there was lot to figure out!
This is beyond gorgeous!! Woo!! Today I discovered a new incredible guitarist. That is always a good day. This song, like someone else said, takes me somewhere. I’m not feeling too poetic enough right now to describe where it took me so I’ll just say it’s making me feel good. 👍🙏
Thank you Jackie, I find that of one writes with no expectations or tries to write specifically 'in a genre', then you can open up to all kinds of ideas you wouldn't think to do. So that's no reason anything can't work!
Wow Jake! You are truly growing in your music! Perfect title 4 this song! It really takes me to a LOVELY place! And your playing has also grown. VERY COOL BROTHER! CONGRATULATIONS!
Thank you Alecia! That means a lot. I never know what to name songs usually so I just go with whatever the song 'feels' like. This one reminded me of being on a beach somewhere tropical under moonlight. Hopefully it takes you to a similar place!
Amazing and captivating playing, as always. Love the tone and effects you used on this tune. And the tune itself is very compelling, great modulations. Gonna have to play this video a lot.
@@JakeFaun It's okay. You're not the only one that uninspires me. You just keep doing what you're doing and I'll catch up as soon as I learn how to make that elusive "L minor" chord.
It's nice to color the sound of the music for the ear, warm, and at the same time I feel through the music some memories, a solo, the whole guitar part, etc .. everything is a plus !!!! You take a record, I will buy it myself, only to Poland it will go a little. greetings what !!!!! Keep flashing the golden arrow on your telecaster: D cheers
Thanks Michal, nice to hear from you in Poland! For now most of my music is here on RUclips, but I also have some of my country tracks on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes etc. So you can find my music there if you're looking. Anyway thanks again for watching, more music coming very soon!
Thanks man, yea I don't often play/write tracks like this one, it's also now one of my favourites that I've done. I should try doing more like this, maybe one day I'll get close to Larry Carlton!
@@JakeFaun Tasty player for sure! Both the first and second solo tracks in the "Kid Charlemagne" studio rendition are one of the most lyrical things I've heard....to this day!
@@JakeFaun For sure! That solo belongs in the pantheon of "pure art" set pieces because it definitely does not follow the blueprint for a traditional solo, but it's super tasty.
I saw the title and thought it was going to be a Van Halen cover . Which I'm sure you could do blindfolded with a left handed guitar and standing on a tightrope . But your original song is just as great as all that . Thanks for posting .
Thanks Bud, perhaps for the next video I'll be blindfold, left handed and waking on a tight rope. Might take a while before that comes out, I feel I'd need to practice a little. 😉
Thanks god! We where worry, we thought that you through away the guitar and make carrot cakes 🤣🤣🤘🤘🤘🤘 ( sorry for my english, i hope you understand the joke)
Hey Jake, Have you ever come up with a great riff and could not come up with a song that's good enough for the riff, because you don't want to waste it? I had one I kept for so long that it didn't sound so great any longer. Dang it!
Yep happens all the time! This song was one of them, had the verse melody idea for a long time, couldn't figure out what to do with it. Kept coming back to it and just playing it again and again but not really doing anything. I think with these riffs you just have to commit to something and let the song happen without trying to overthink it too much. Or accept that it might just be a cool riff that never really becomes a song. I think it's best to try and finish ideas or move on quickly. I find if you spend too much time on an idea it starts to lose what made it interesting in the first place after a while.
Love it! Your sound is velvet to my ear drums.
Thank you Tomas, that's very kind!
Just seeing this for the first time. Superb as always Mr Faun. Fantastic..
Than you John, glad you enjoyed it!
Another Jake Gem! My pinky got a cramp just watching that stretchy chord! Love this song. So summery!

Awesome as always!
Thank you Cole, appreciate you checking it out!
Smooth as the scent of flower perfume.
And we do like the scent of flower perfume!
Really nice song and I like how you play things in there that wake up guitarists all of a sudden.🦅
Haha thanks, yep I like to throw in techniques more common to other genres you might not think to incorporate. Keeps song writing interesting!
Just Fantastic 😉
Thanks man, glad you liked it!
Reminds me of 70's TV themes.Wonderful playing as always!
Thanks man, if only I wrote this back in the 70s, it might make me some money!
Insane... I got a hint of “Taxi”. I thought the same thing.
Thanks man, need to listen to 'Taxi', perhaps I should check out.

God damn right you would’ve . This is sublime mate .
Thank you, glad you think so!
Awesome and inspirational Jake! Another unique tone and arrangement... Love these! Cheers Jake!
Thanks again Jim, gonna keep them coming. One of the benefits of not gigging/being on tour, I have more time to do this!
Absolutely brilliant writing. 👍
Thank you, glad you think so!
@@JakeFaun it's a fact. 👍
Consummate skills with both hands, Jake. Just a joy to watch with so much variations and those brilliant 3-note harmonies. Top job once again!

Damn, this is so good. Nice grooves, sweet phrasing and top of the line melodies. Good job 👌Jake!
Thank you Magnus, yep phrasing and groove are always gonna be key elements to keep people interested.

Thank you Andrew! Yea this one is a little different from the others, not as flashy maybe but hopefully more fun to just listen to!
lovely song~
Thank you!
Excellent playing ! That stretchy chord at.the beginning looks beyond me !
Thank you Neil, yea those chords at the start are a bit of a pain, especially as there's no rhythm section to hide behind haha.
They’re is so much things awesome in your playing!
Thanks so much man!
Wait! Jake . . . This is Jazz! Very Jazz! So cool, I dig it!
Thanks Mark! Yea it's kinda like hotel elevator music haha.
Never cease to amaze.
Thank you Rob, glad I can keep the amazement going!
Phenomenal playing! You seem to have no barriers. Limitless ideas.

You sure can make a guitar sing Jake!! Beautiful song!
Thanks Pat, glad you liked the song, this is one is a little different from the usual stuff I do. Definitely more mellow (until the end at least!).

Your fretboard knowledge is really demonstrated here. You are a treasure to listen to.
Thanks man, glad you think so. We'll I've got plenty of time to really get to know the fretboard while there are no gigs haha.
@@JakeFaun LOL true even my playing has improved. Can’t wait to see more of your stuff. Seventh Sun is still one of my favorite guitar tracks.
Thanks man, that's actually one of my favourites too, will have to do another one like that soon!
Very nice melody. Perfect for a Saturday evening here!
Although the title says summer, I have to say this does a great job in the fall as well!
Haha thanks Richard, yes hopefully one can enjoy it an any time of year!
