    Why introducing a new product without the latest elevate v5 hearth rate sensor?

    • @Frindleeguy
      @Frindleeguy 3 месяца назад +1

      The new sensor is not much of an improvement. The r&d for a life saving/critical duty item like a dive computer with ccr and gf features- undoubtedly it took more than a year of intensive testing - and starting over to test with a new sensor that's maybe 1% better makes basically no sense. Also, they need to be able to sell a mk3 pro someday.

      @@Frindleeguy I also wonder about battery life when you have a new sensor that updates. Connected to a transmitter is intense enough. I have Garmin MK1 and Shearwater and Apeks - the transmitter, from my experience takes enough battery.. & adding to it a heart monitor .. I wonder. These watches are extremely compact and the battery can only take so much space.

    I purchased the MK2i … 👌

    Hi, why did the Mk3 get the Gen 4 Heart Rate sensor instead of the newer Gen 5 ?

    • @Frindleeguy
      @Frindleeguy 3 месяца назад

      R&d takes time. This watch is not the same as a hiking or a nav watch. Testing it for a long time is hyper critical. As in, life or death. This isn't just a running or hiking fitness watch. By the time they finish r&d it's inevitable something new has been released. In this case, there's a newer amoled and ohv. That's not what this watch is for showcasing- it's a life saving/life support tech.

    First impression: Love, love, love the watch. So many useful features for scuba and paramotoring. So many cool features for day-to-day wear.
    My concern: I spend a lot more time in suits than I do underwater or in the air. I wish that such an expensive watch had the option for a more expensive look - gold and/or platinum.
    At least I can upgrade the watch band. Is the watch band size 26 mm?

      or even get this a TRADITIONAL STAINLESS STEEL OFFICE LOOK.. not some powder coated necrotic black/grey dead skin tone.. that was the reason I did not buy a MK2i last year... and picked up a sheartoiletwater AI to use with my mk2 STAINLESS as a backup... because GARMIN DOES NOT HAVE GOOD OPTIONS FOR BUSINESS USE... 20 years ago they were Charging 500.00 to load maps on my simbian phone.... today they cannot get STANDARD BUSINESS COLORS on Devices... guess they are hiring LITTLE CLOWNS who think it is a circus their idea of a business meeting is a circle of meth heads in raggy clothes with chipped scraped and scratched CASIO Gshock watches.. looking like rag tag clueless clowns. -- I am not going to a GUCCI ghetto bronze fashion show... I am NOT BUYING A 43mm STAINLESS WATCH smooth move GARMIN your Product team ATE dirt 2 for 2 ... ALL I NEEDED WAS A AIR INTEGRATED STAINLESS STEEL WATCH.... you would be selling me a SECOND one this year, but NO THE DIVERSITY DEI HIRE needed the ghetto palate and elchepo powdercoating... Engineering has the product on point... and you market it to a bunch of IN DEBT MAXED OUT CREDIT CARD HOLDING CIRCUS CLOWNS... reason why sheartoiletwater can demand 1200 for a watch that does NOTHING THIS ONE CAN... is it looks good and if needed I CAN WEAR IT TO A BUSINESS MEETING!

      It's a 26mm quickfit. And you can find cases online. I don't like them but they fit farely well.

    Any thoughts on which features will trickle down to G1, Mk2, Mk2s, Mk2i, and Mk1 via update? One would think that Mk2i with T1 can handle some, if not all, of the improved diver-to-diver communication features. All the Mk-series watches ought to have access to the dive site database, as they handle mapping in the surface context quite well. All of the watches, including G1, ought to be able to provide a dive ready score since they have optical heart rate monitors and provide training scores for other activities. What do others think?

    this will be a huge upgrade for me from my current G1. I love Garmin. I can trust my life on this dive computer. I wish the batt live on 42 was little longer.

    I would like to state that I am very unhappy that in the Mk3 series, there is no longer a part on the left side of the diving screen, such as an analog needle, that shows the amount of nitrogen in the tissues, in the Mk2 and Mk1 series. As a diving professional, this feature was an indicator that we especially followed to end the dive safely before ending the dive, and I am sorry to say again that it is no longer available. We are waiting for a statement from the authorities.

    Disappointed to hear about the older generation heart rate sensor. Don't care of it makes the watch more expensive. I'm going to go with the venu 3 instead.

    I own this model, previously I had Fenix7, Fenix6, etc.
    I wanted to write that the watch at this point has many functions poorly optimized
    Meni scrolling causes visible clipping
    The wake-up gesture has a considerable delay
    There are only 4 levels of screen brightness settings
    Some functions lock settings and you have to restart the watch
    Changing data screen settings from the phone resets the device
    For a watch for this much money I feel a bit cheated :(

      It's a dive computer. Sounds like you wanted an Epix pro. Or perhaps an apple watch.

    Omg, I love the bronze. Why not bronze and black? Also, where’s the rotating dive bezel and analog-style format :(( would love to have the digital stats in areas of the watch face while an analog display is active. Why can’t anyone do this. That would be the watch game changer. I’d never buy a Rolex again.

      Just like the Epix. And Venu. And a dozen other top market share devices.
      You can actually read it in 5ft vis at 80 meters. Pretty impressive.

    Have been waiting for this release for a while. For someone who mainly uses my current descent MK2 for the sports functionality but love being able to use it diving too it is a bit disappointing that there is only one colour option for the mk3. are there plans to release any other varieties?
