Great information Meg! All the other videos I’ve seen have been about kinda odd acrylics. I love seeing these Hanna’s of natural fibers and how they worked up! Thanks for sharing, I love your channel 😊
Thanks very much :) Yeah, there are certainly a lot of acrylics on there and they are pretty random. I was glad to find this brand of nice, real fibers for so cheap.
I’ve been getting a lot of my yarn from TEMU. I’m on a fixed income so have a limited amount to spend on yarn. I love the variegated from Fairyland. It’s soft and has a halo to it. It’s warm and perfect for GA weather. I’ve not been unhappy with any yarn I’ve purchased from TEMU.
Just placed my first Temu order. Found some pretty alpaca-blend yarn which sounds like it's a worsted or DK weight, plus some hooks and one of those cube-shaped "yarn bowls" which incorporate a bunch of other useful tools into the design. The only problem was that I changed my mind several times about what to order, and the coupon code I had wanted to use was no longer valid after the changes -- so I ordered less, since I wasn't getting the coupon-code discount.
@@DOSBoxMom Yeah they play lots of "games" with their pricing and availability. Ive learned i have to grab things quickly or the prices go up, things like that. But if its something I'm just casually thinking about ill leave it in my cart for a while and sometimes the prices go down. So you just never know :)
@@janel246 Hi Jan :) So I just signed into temu and typed Lotus Yarn and it had a bunch of things come up - some are Lotus brand, some are not, but they will show the Lotus Yarns label in the photo. Sometimes they dont name things very well for English speaking searches, so you just have to look at the photos and see if the label says Lotus. That said - I've ordered some of the other wool yarns they have since I made this video last summer, and they have been nice too even with no label whatsoever. You really just want to scroll down to the description and see what the fiber content is. Sometimes you have to look at the photos and read the labels to get that info too. I hope this helps!
I mostly have worsted-weight acrylics in my yarn stash, although I do also have a small "kitchen cotton" stash and some wool, wool-blend and other animal-fiber yarns (many from Kickstarter campaigns) for shawls & Doctor Who scarves. I'd probably be looking for mostly worsted-weight acrylics on Temu, as well as crochet hooks, notions and other yarncrafting accessories.
@@DOSBoxMom Yeah I will say most everything I've bought from Temu has been sport wright or thinner, but you can hold 2 strands together to get worsted gauge.
@@deleteduser12f I've never really looked for tufting supplies on temu. They sell lots of acrylic yarn, but it tends to be thinner - like sport through lace weight - so it would take more to filling for sure.
Love your shawl love the colours thanks for your thoughts 😊
Thank you so much :)

@@maryb8150 Thats great! I hadn't heard of the Fairyland brand. I'll have to check that out :)
Good on you to know how to shop. Most importantly, you got some savings.

Yes, Lotus Yarn is incredibly soft. I bought a big package of it.
I have cashmere yarns from TEMU as well as mohair blends and they are very lovely and a great price.
@@craftycrafter1960 Yep, I have had a few lucky finds and a few not so lucky, but when you do get the good ones they are great prices!
what about rug tufting

Temu is addictive, I had to delete the app!
@@daschuhow Yes, it can be for sure. I o through times when I'm on it a lot and then I stop looking for months.
I found that the colors online are vibrant but in real life is dark and dulL. This is variegated yarn mostly.
@@kathybrisky Some of the off brand ones are, yes. Thats why I stuck with the Lotus brand solid colors.
