- Seuss Landing at Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure is a whimsical and enchanting land that brings the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss to life. This vibrant and colorful area is a tribute to the beloved children's author, Theodor Seuss Geisel, known as Dr. Seuss. As visitors step into Seuss Landing, they find themselves immersed in a fantastical landscape straight out of Seuss's iconic books. The architecture, attractions, and even the foliage reflect the distinctive and quirky style of Dr. Seuss's illustrations. The attractions in Seuss Landing are family-friendly and cater to visitors of all ages, but its lack of upkeep in the years that followed its unveiling has led to it being in a state of disarray. Attractions like The Cat In The Hat, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, The Caro-Seussel, and The High In The Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride were impressive on its release, but a lack of repairs and upkeep has led to a once impressive part of Universal Studio's Orlando Resort falling to the waste side. Thanks so much for watching, consider subscribing if you liked the video!

I was at Islands of Adventure a few weeks ago, and I’ll say that Suess Landing is in desperate need of some love. Considering how beloved Dr. Seuss’s stories remain, I highly doubt Seuss landing will be going anywhere anytime soon. But at the same time, a refurbishment of the entire land would go a long ways.
It's in better shape than parts of Jurassic Park. I saw the mind blowing Beijing/Peking JP ride in a RUclips clip and thought about the sad rubber forms at our UO river adventure. I'd be embarrassed. Let's hope it's not the same comparing our weapons systems with Chinese weapons systems.
I really hope that someday they’ll go through with the Mt. Crumpet Grinch coaster. Even if it would be low-thrill, with Universal’s modern attention to theming I think it’d be a guaranteed hit and bring a lot of attention and life to the area
This is what I want. Come on Mt Crumpet.
Make the grinch ride like the Matterhorn with a Boris Karloff track and a Jim Carey track. And if cat in the hat can’t spin, it should have thing 1 and thing 2 tea cup ride. Just please please please please please don’t get ride of Cat in the Hat or One Fish Two Fish or Caro Seuss el. The Seuss Trolley can be more like the peoplemover. The tracks should be rerouted to go in the grinch and cat in the hat dark ride show buildings.
I would say there's zero room for a Grinch coaster. Universal is reluctant to undo its biggest mistakes: Fast and Furious and Jimmy Fallon. a Grinch ride seems pretty unlikely.
I do think they'll improve it- they just reworked the Circus McGurkus menu so they still are willing to put effort into it, and Grinchmas is still a moneymaker! Every time I passed that Grinch meet and greet, the line was at least 180 minutes long. Sometimes it was even in the 300s 😰😰😰😰
I hope so!
and the year before they fixed a problem with the carousel. They've changed the restraints in Sky high to make guests more secure too. 1 Fish 2 Fish is getting some love as of this moment. I dk what type of love.
Considering UNI committed to spending 17 billion in Orlando after UEU, Id say this land will undergo a massive refurb/whoville expansion within the next 10 years
Dueling Dragons man. Dueling Dragons..
realized right after I posted 😭 classic ride
The lost continent deserved better ☹️
I’m glad someone is bringing attention to this! I 100% agree that this is one of the strongest IP Universal has licensed and the state the land has fallen into is sad to say the least. It’s clear to me with the recent refurbishment of green eggs and ham and circus mcgurkus that Universal is intent on keeping the land, but I would love to see them give it some TLC after they’re done dumping money into Epic Universe.
For starters, I think a cat in the cat dark ride is a great centerpiece foe the land, but because of the manufacturer for the ride system no longer existing, and the dated effects, frankly I would gut the whole ride and start from scratch. There are so many technologies now that they could use to make a great ride (like trackless dark ride tech) but I think a blank slate would serve them well. If they don’t feel like they can un-creep-ify the ride, there are plenty of Dr Seuss books to tap into (the grinch, horton heard a who, and the lorax come to mind, all of which synergize with the illumination movies). But I think in my ideal world, they’d find a way to keep the Cat in the Hat a centerpiece and maybe even add an attraction based on one of those books. But if there’s just not enough space, maybe do an omnimover style attraction with an original plot that combines the books-think how Monsters Unchained at Epic Universe is creating an original story that allows all the monsters to partake in the ride’s plot.
One fish two fish is an exceptional ride for what it is, my favorite of the dumbo adjacent rides. One thing you didn’t discuss is how the song that plays on the ride provides clues in the lyrics to inform you where to go to avoid being hit with water. I’d love if they maybe added a few other original songs with the same concept to both increase re-ride value and spare the ride operators from hearing the same song ad nauseum.
Now to me the train trolley ride is pretty infallible, almost serving as Universal’s version of the Peoplemover. The only improvements I can think of would be track extensions to increase the ride time and ride capacity. So like if they rebuild the Cat in the Hat or add another indoor attraction, maybe add track for the train ride to route through akin to what the peoplemover does at tomorrowland when it passes through space mountain. But this one’s a stretch and I think probably more complicated than I’m making it out to be.
Lastly, something Universal lacks in a big way is high quality, sit down dining. The quick serve options here are fun, but there is a lot of potential to transform Seuss’ catalog into something a bit more fun and gourmet.
I still enjoy Suess Landing. It's a good area to cool down and chill and Cat in the Hat was my fiance's first ride ever at Universal.
Ah I think it’s a beautiful section of the park, especially to take photos at. Plus, it’s the one part of Universal where the books are the best merch!
The thing I don’t really like about Suess Landing is that so many of the rides have height requirements! Even with that area of the park being themed to younger children, my toddler was only able to do the carousel & 1 fish, 2 fish 🥲 The High in the Sky trolley isn’t much different than The Peoplemover in Tomorrowland & my girl was so upset that she couldn’t do much on our Universal day!
There is one difference with the people mover and the High in the Sky Suess Trolley Train ride. The Suess Trolley Train ride features lap bars which need to be secure for each rider.
@@bryancurdi451Thank you so much for the explanation! I never realized that was the difference between the two, that definitely makes sense. Hopefully our girl will be tall enough to do a majority of things on our next trip!
Seuss Land is the most beautiful part of the park during the Christmas season
Yes 🙌 I want Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure to have a refurbishment please 🙏 Theme Park Lore
I don’t want Seuss landing to go away. I love it so much😢
Really fun video! I hope that at some point in the future, Universal takes some serious time to overhaul the Seuss attractions and make it the best it can be!
Appreciate the watch!
Idk if i would describe toon lagoon as timeless… like there is not a single child who gets those references anymore, whereas Seuss is timeless, but in need of love and care
This place NEEDS a referb not a retheme!
People who agree People who don't

agree!
Seuss landing is the best I don’t it to leave. If it did, the whole world would grieve 😢
Yay great first video!! I think if they repainted the land and maybe added a new ride or updated The Cat in the Hat ride, this area of the park would be better.
Also as a fellow RUclipsr what do you use for your voice recordings?
Appreciate it! I use a Shure MV7 :)
This channel takes underrated content to another level.Amazing Video!!!!!
Thanks so much!
Really well done and interesting video. Can’t wait to see your channels growth
Thank you so much!
I love theme park lore!
thank you!
I talked with a Team member over at Cat in the hat. They explained the spinning was re-programmed to be TAME due to a lot of guests getting motion sick or riding the ride RIGHT after they had lunch or dinner, a lot of vomiting issues ensued hence the lack of spinning.
I love this area. Maybe I'm missing something because I haven't been to Disney World, never went to Universal as a kid, and am used to Cedar Point, but it's theming and attractions are great. I loved these books as a kid. I work in a library and these books are still really popular. The books and this area are timeless. I don't think it's dated like Comic Book area of IOA. Sure it could use repaint and work getting all the animatronics up and running. I don't think it's as dire as you're making it out to be. It could use a better playground like what the Fievel and Curious George areas were in Studios.
Cat in the Hat was good when we rode it in August. I don't think I'd like it if it spun more, even though I love spinning flat rides. I know my brother would have hated it spinning. It seemed like a combo of a story telling dark ride and a Wacky Shack type tracked fun house. It's fun.
The rides might not be fixed consistently, but the food is still going strong.
Circus, the main dinning location in suess, just reopened after a massive renovation. Moose juice finally got there ac fixed aswell.
Almost forgot, green eggs has been running fine for a while now.
I'm pretty sure they updated the carousel two years ago and it took them more time than expected because the roof broke as they were improving/doing maintenance on it. I think another good sign is that One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish will be closing for about a month pretty soon.
Subbed, can't wait for a new video
Thank you so much!
I bet when epic universe is open they will do major updates to IOA and USF
I still enjoy Seuss Landing. With how big Grinchmas is, I don't it going anywhere.
I think it would be rethemed to a Bluey’s Land
Hmmm, not sure how it could work out, the rights to bluey do belong to the Australian broadcasting corporation and the British broadcasting corporation, and the TV rights are owned by Disney for international and US release on their channels.
The ABC and BBC would have the ultimate say but I guarantee the mouse has its hands deep in the IP for the US market and would definitely do some pushing.
Had no idea the Seuss estate were hesitant in licensing out their characters to Universal.
I thought there was regular upkeep of Seuss Landing. Nothing really sticks out as faded or aging.
We need a grinch coaster or ride
i don't think there's room for one unfortunately
The cat in the hat ride reminds me of that Wiggles ride in Australia. I know I’m gonna get hate for saying this but Suess landing definitely needs to be reworked to a better land.
SO YOU HAVE CHOSEN DEATH
@@user-yc1qn6im5k this is only an opinion
TPL has no idea what is going on.. I'm going to confront him soon
Yesterday, I wrote that I thought Seuss' widow's dislike of theme parks was stupid. I deleted that comment and apologize because after visiting DreamWorksLand, I think I am sympathetic a bit now. Perhaps she felt/feels theme parks insist on controlling the fun rather than giving kids the materials to create their own fun. The replacement of the ball room where kids could run, climb and play themselves with a screen telling them what to do is discouraging. Now the climbing area is in the hot sun or rain. Maybe UO was nervous about kids getting hurt. I know the parents can be unforgiving. Truth is other areas are better for self guided fun like back yards, day care or one's own room.
Hear me out what if they replace the cat in the hat with the lorax
I think it’s partially because Dr. Suess isn’t as popular anymore and a lot of kids don’t read they just scroll. So of course it’s gonna lose traction.
dragon challenge??? 😅
This is my opinion, MINE, but I really wish Seuss Landing could be replaced with a different area all together. Now theres NO WAY we will get a coco melon themed area, but maybe something from the Smurfs
Oh hell no. No smurfs. Gross. If they lose Seuss landing they lose the grinch which means they lose their entire Christmas moneymaker. The grinch had lines out the wazoo this year cuz the actors are amazing. I think they just need to refurb it all and add an expansion and a better meet and greet for grinch at Christmas where there are multiples so the line isn’t so long.
This and Marvel Superhero Island need to be updated. I think they should keep Seuss but ditch the Marvel theming. Hulk can easily be rethemed to something else. Take out Spider-man since it’s the same ride as Transformers and rumored to be used at Epic Universe also. And nobody cares about the Storm ride

The land might be to racist to save in this modern age it could be reworked for a new land
Worst theme park ever
