There was also a Black Dynamite animated series. Michael Jai White even reprises his role. If you liked the movie, you'll likely dig the show.
The Matador is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. It’s just so good.
Potty word?
Very grateful for a list..I’ll find the ones I like much easier!
Please add the Rating alongside the names
90% of Amazon shows and movies I watch are action based, and NONE of these 18 pop up in my "recommendations", even though I purchased Attack The Block (from the Amazon store) a decade ago. Thank you for saving me, and a lot of people who subscribe to your channel, many wasted hours of mindlessly navigating menus, with your awesome picks. Keep up the great content!
Excellent FLICK CONNECTION Darren and loved your critique on each film. Many thanks for sharing with us 👍👍👍
Thanks, Darren! I always appreciate your recommendations. I've added a bunch to my list. Attack the Block and Open Range are really great picks! May watch them again!
Good list. Raw Deal and Splinter are two favorites of mine. Get The Gringo and Uncommon Valor I also like. I've had Attack The Block and Repo Men on my watch list for some time now, I'll eventually get around to it. Lastly, after your recommendations, Black Dynamite is one I'll have to add to my list, I really do love retro style movies.
The Matador was such a good movie. Funny, tense and touching (especially last 15 minutes). Thanks for adding to my list of things to check out.
I’ve seen about half these movies (The Rundown, The Matador, Repo Men, Raw Deal, Allied, Open Range). There’s another few like Self/Less, In Time, and Attack the Block that I was interested in seeing back in theaters. The Frame and Tunnel are two I’d not heard of before.
I can't believe Uncommon Valor made your list! I *LOVED* this movie as a teen, and I've been thinking about it recently!
This is a superb video, thanks !! Wonderful set of films, I have seen only ONE of these, looking forward to it !!
Great hunting ! Some I never knew. Your channel is a great service - your knowledge is amazing. 🎓🎓🎓 Thank you Darren.👍👍👍💫💫💫💫💫
Thanks again for all you do, Darren.... I spent too much time just last night navigating the jumbled cyberworld of Amazon Prime looking for good, hidden movies - what a mess!
Awesome list as always! Got a few of these I haven't seen and am looking forward to them.
Thank you for recommending Open Range! Great movie with two of my favorite actors-Costner & Duvall. I love your reviews. Keep ‘‘em coming!
First time watching this channel, many thanks. Was a tad skeptical of the recommendations at first, but my doubts quickly vanished. Including Uncommon Valor was the clincher, awesome flick.
Great stuff! Allied and Attack the Block are now now on my list. Thanks!
My wife and I happened to watch 'The Rundown' just by chance many years ago, and we just loved it! Great flick.
Thanks for great recommendations, top 5 are going into my bucket list.
As always, I enjoy your list and have seen most of the movies in this one or on them.
I don't like all your recommendations but I sure do appreciate your videos 😊
There is always one or two for me!
This one was not very good but most of his videos have better recommendations.
Thanks for another great list! 👍
I have found so many great movies as a result of these videos. I 'm glad he makes them.
Just watched Transit, wow great movie. Thanks, glad I found your channel. I’m a new subscriber.
This is one channel I'm actually glad RUclips recommended. Just subbed. Great movie pics.
Great list. Gonna check out the ones I haven't seen.
Rundown is the best rock movie. I saw it in theaters with the lowest of expectations and I absolutely loved it. The first scene is fantastic
Establish dominance,
"They have a chance to repeat" LMAO gets me every time just before he whoops their candy a $ $ e s
@@satansshadow2163 "Fierce gaze! Fierce gaze!"
@@markthompson7503 cmon billy I don’t want to hurt em. Hahahahaha. The look on the other guys face is priceless
There's mooze on the grind!
I probably would have skipped over Attack the Block had I not seen DvD recommend it in another vid. It's SO good. I almost missed out, but this channel came to the rescue.
Added almost your entire list to My Stuff, even the ones I've already seen. Thanks, man!
I've seen just the last half-hour or so of "Open Range" and you're right; some of the best action I've seen in ages and all of the actors are top-notch.
I think Switchback and Breakdown are two very under rated thrillers of the late 90's.
Very proud to say I've been with Flick Connection since way back when Darren's beard was still dark! The silver looks great homie(added note my beard has also gone gray over this period of time)! Thanks for some more excellent picks here bud 👌
In Time is truly a breath of fresh air in a landscape of dull phoned-in movies they’ve been cranking out during the last several years. Also, I’m always surprised by Timberlakes acting chops. This performance was no exception.
Watched "Open Range" tonight. Great movie! I did not think the movie started slow, enjoyed the set-up.
Fantastic list, can't wait to check out the ones I haven't already seen.
Great recommendations! Love your content.
Nice!! So many added to my list, and most completely unknown.
Great list. I highly recommend Get the Gringo and Attack the Block the rest are good as well, a few I'll have to go back and watch ahain
Another good list…unfortunately I have seen almost all of these at least twice except for Attack the Block, which I just rewatched. Thanks for the lists and keep up the good work!
Great list; thanks :)
Seems like a good list. I spend so much time scrolling around Amazon trying to find something good and many of these are in my maybe list.
Haven't seen The Matador since it came out. Thanks for this!
My wife and I just watched Allied. Pretty great "curl up on the couch, kids are out, date night with take-out at home" movie. We both enjoyed it. I have zero recollection of hearing about it when it came out. Thanks for the recommendation!👍🏻
Thank you for including Black Dynamite!! The film's narrative pretty much picks up where "I'm Gonna git you sucka" left off in the realm in theme-wise, again many thanks indeed .. 😊🤗
Thank you-great recommendations! I haven’t seen any of ‘em but I am ready to watch any of ‘em except the horror flick.
Raw Deal, The Rundown, and Open Range are my three favorites from your list. Gotta watch some of the others for sure.
You have hit another of my old favorites, "Uncommon Valor." Well, also, "Attack the Block," but I think I watched that one because you recommended it. Good to know that I am not alone in my movie quirkiness.
Thanks Darren always enjoy watching your channel
The only one I've seen is Attack the Block which is a criminally underrated movie even here in the UK. Joe Cornish made his writer/director debut with this film and he needs to make more!
What a list! My first inclination is to rewatch Uncommon Valor, because obviously, but I'm going to branch out and watch Attack the Block because that looks amazing. Husband and i will probably watch Black Dynamite because holy crap that's awesome. I've always been shocked how poorly Allied did, i thought it was excellent, and I don't typically like WWII movies - The Call is another very underrated movie.
Agree with you all around. Headed to attack the block, now.
Thank you for these reviews. Watched Allied and it was excellent. I can't believe there was a Brad Pit movie I didn't even know about. Thanks again!
The Matador and In Time are absolute must see
I loved all of these movies and 100% agree with you about open range, it’s one of my favourite westerns.
Darren, who's better than you? NOBODY! How do you always seem to know when I can't find anything to watch? So many good movies to watch. I❤Nick Frost!
So glad you picked up on Uncommon Valour. I remember seeing this back in the 80s - a real gem. Also great to see Malcolm's mum from Malcolm in the Middle - briefly. I don't know anyone else who've seen it.
Attack the Block is a hidden gem. I’ll check out the few others I haven’t seen. Thanks Darren.
It is a great movie. I wish we'd get a sequel.
Your taste is improving. Have seen many of these, and agree. Thank You.
I had never heard of The Matador - watched it after watching this and really enjoyed it - Thanx Darren
I’m almost to the end of it. It’s so good & pretty damn funny.
I think I'm gonna watch all of these. Killer list!
Excellent. Thanks!!!
I don't typically notice the audio engineering in movies so when I notice it's because it was particularly amazing. If you can watch Open Range with a good sound system you should. It is a classic western with a straight forward story and beautiful cinematography. When the gunplay begins it sounds very real.
Love Raw Deal. Uncommon Valor is another real gem. Great list, thanks.
I know your picks are restricted to the streaming service of choice, but you gotta get Anthropoid on one of these lists. It's a really good WW2 spy semi-action movie with a fantastic shootout in its last act.
you are the best movie curator on youtube!
Not sure if you've reviewed this, but one on Prime that is a quiet sleeper.."Radius". Suspense, sci fi, drama. Well done
Open range is one of my all-time favourite westerns. Classic
Uncommon Valor is a great film with an awesome cast. Always loved that film, especially the song at the end with Randall 'Tex' Cobb dancing :)
a Little Thunder.. and a Little Lighting. Our kids loved it. Rundown with Rock was funny.
Just watched "Repo Men" with my wife. Very good suggestion. Thank you. Will be watching "Transit" next.
another outstanding video Darren - thank you
Great picks. We watch The Rundown probably once a year.
I still think The Rundown is my favorite movie with Dwayne Johnson. And the premise with The Matador is that Pierce Brosnan is an aging hitman who starts to have a crisis of conscious & wants to get out of the game and lead a normal life. He strikes up a friendship with Greg Kinnear to get an idea just what a normal life is like. It's got a lot of funny moments.
Repomen is one of my All time favorites!
Definitely worth the watch, the music is set so well with the action.
Not for younger children, they'll be sleeping with you for a few nights cuz they're having nightmares.
Open Range is up there to, longest shoot out in westerns!
I was expecting a hidden page or something with the title.
Thanks, brother! I want to see mist of them
You’re absolutely right about Open Range, it’s worth watching for that final shootout
Black Dynamite is worth watching. Great acting I love the boom mic in the shot and he even glanced at it lol also the boomerang nun chucks. Lol
Stellar list of flicks. Well done! Subscribed.
Right on
Switchback is one of my favorite serial killer movie. Glad u finally recommended this one.
Darren,
My major compliant with "Uncommon Valor", which I love, BTW... Is the training camp in Galveston , Texas (50 mi. form my home of Houston)
with the majestic Galveston Mountain Range featured in the background...
Notwithstanding the fact that Galveston Island is a large sandbar which is 0'-7' above sea level, including "mountain range" 😂🤣😂
Still love the movie though!🙂
D.
Loved splinter! Have you seen dark was the night?
Good list and good reviews. But, alas, the ones I checked aren’t on prime in the UK.
Right off the bat a film I have not seen.
Transit.
I hope there are some more because I have run out of things to watch. Just some weekly episodes of Silo and Strange New Worlds. Other than that I am in a doldrum.
The Call
The Frame - Ink is brilliant so going to check this out.
3 Films I have never seen, so 3 I am going to watch, thank you Daz you Star !
your occasional potty word 😂
Can definitely attest to Open Range. One of my favorites
I love Open Range. One of if not my favorite western and the sound in this movie of the gunfights is top notch. This might have the best sound effects of any western.
#2 is really great. I saw it in theatres at the time.
And I watched a couple times on cable in the 80's too.
The Rundown is great, one of those movies I'd happily watch ever time I come across it, very funny.
its ages since I have seen the call, splinter and attack the block but they were great movies, also the rundown is known as welcome to the jungle outside of the USA which was also good I seen just over half of these and I was pretty happy with the ones I have seen thanks for the video some good recommendations here.
Totally agree with you on Open Range. Fantastic movie and certainly better than Dances.
Some I've seen, some I have not, thanks for the recommendations
Uncommon Valor is great. I met Tex Cobb a few years ago, super nice man.
Uncommon Valor and Open Range are great. Great list.
thanks,i've seen most of these, but i like to see the best ones again.
"Attack the Block" is a great number one pick, excellent movie.
The Mel Gibson film is also available as "What I did last summer", I can recommend a film for you with Forest Whittaker in called "Ghost dog"; I don't know where it's available but I feel it went under the radar when it was released
Love your recommendations
Solid list.
The description of Splinter reminds me of Phone Booth.
It wasn't trying to do anything other than suspense, but they nailed it.
From, Animal Kingdom, and Outer Range are all Awesome shows on Prime that are really good in there own ways and I never hear anyone talk about or recommend!
Asking for your opinion on From... I started watching based on the premise, but stopped after the opening scene where the characters were written to be idiots, both mother and child. I didn't want to watch yet another show that used stupid character decisions to make things happen simply because the plot called for it. Was my kneejerk reaction too much? Did the show rely on that quite a bit, or was that more of an isolated thing?
Splinter was pretty great. Thanks!
Good list!
God, I have to go back and watch Black Dynomite. Forget when the last time I saw it.
"Shining Through" with Michale Douglas and Melanie Griffith 1992 WWII movie was Great
