"Bronson" doesn't seem to be currently available on Tubi in the United States. Awesome recommendations as always, & I thank you for putting these out. Fellow Mississippian here.
hey darren i have an awesome movie for you to watch ......i think you should put it on 1 of your videos......the movie is Cherry(2021) main actor in it is tom holland.......daaaaam its a good movie im surprised its not on 1 of your lists
As some of you know, 'Cold in July' is based on the novel by Joe R. Lansdale. I only bring this up because he's been writing great stories since the 80s and I'm so glad that filmmakers are finally bringing his stories to the screen (see also Hap and Leonard). 'Cold in July' is a thriller of impeccable caliber, worthy to be named in the same breath as 'Fargo' or 'Seven.'
That was a great FLICK CONNECTION Darren. Agree with you on Bronson and Point Break. 2 superb movies. Great to see Peanut still in good health. Many thanks for sharing with us 👍👍👍
Frailty! I caught it on cable long ago - we cut the cord years ago, so it's been a while - now every time I see it on somewhere I watch it. So so good, one that really sticks with you. Might be my favorite Paxton movie ever, and I love Twister. We Own The Night is also excellent
What an amazing list. Now, as I was watching these films, A film suggestion was presented by TUBI named "Bone Tomahawk" Wow, was I suprised to discover how awesome this film is.
Thanks dude, for suggesting Cold in July. Thoroughly enjoyed it, also Mayhem and Bronson. Great way to spend the day while avoiding crappie weather of east texas. Peace.
"Lone Star" is a great flick! I remember when it first came out, and I think it didn't do well at the box office because of the ending, a little too ..... non-mainstream for the time. Not saying more to avoid spoilers.
Gave away the whole spoiler ending to The Skin I Live In. 😬 That part isn't revealed until much later, after the story has gone on for a while and is a huge plot point that was kept secret until then.
I am so glad you put A Ghost Story here. Rooney Mara eats the crap out of some pie! I've been singing the praises of this and Take Shelter for years (Shelter was filmed in my hometown, weirdly.) Just discovered your channel, and really enjoying your out of left field picks.
I have Prime Video, and apparently there’s now a monthly additional $3 charge to eliminate ads! Delivery service has been delayed fairly often, and I’m beginning to wonder if Prime is still worth it.
Also on Tubi check out the 2009 Serbian animated feature film Technotise: Edit & I. Written and directed by comic artist Aleksa Gajić. It predates Luke Bessan's 2014 Lucy, even the main animated character kinda looks like Scarlett Johansson, lol. - it’s subtitle but worth the watch for its good characters development and minor but great action scenes.
Hey Darren, I know it's not typically your thing but that most sacred of days is coming up 😂 Valentine's Day, what are the chances of a Valentine's List? I honestly can't recall if you've done one in the past, if you did I have no doubt that I skipped it since I'd rather drag my nails across a chalkboard than watch a "love story" but some viewers might like one, NOT me 😂 but im sure at least one or 2 of your regulars might like a romcom list
You listed about 4 or 5 of my favorite movies here, but Cold in July had totally gone under my radar. Fantastic movie that jerked me around the whole time and gave new meaning to “I didn’t see that coming.”
I just watched one of your previous recommendations last night: Predestination. THAT...was a mind-bender. Very enjoyable. I think Seraphim Falls is next on my list.
I've seen Blue Caprice and a couple of the others but I'm watching Unforgettable as I'm typing this and Point Blank (1967) is next! I'm a huge fan we have very similar tastes so when I'm in a jam I always see what you got going on! Thanks and keep it up!
The big red one... Every time I see Lee Marvin I have to go back to it. Your lists are indicating that 2024 will be big, very big, for your channel. You're knocking them out of the park Darren !
My wife and I saw Lone Star in the theater back in the day. Great movie. Possibly the best last line of all time. Even though it's almost 30 years old I won't spoil it.
I'm extremely happy to see this list as I do not subscribe to netflix/hulu/prime/etc........I rely totally on Roku and the channels they offer. Please make these regular if you would! Regards, Marxart
Great list as always! Lone Star made a lot of noise when it came out and made the writer/director John Sayles a household name for a while. It was nominated for an Oscar for best screenplay. I really liked it when it came out. Great reminder to watch it again.
Thanks again for your work. Love your careful management of expectations, it means so much more when they lead to you saying "must watch" Your focus on the highlighting Story Tellers (directors) is always appreciated. Pay Back is a Library favorite; thanks for connecting to the other 2. Love learning what I didn't know/realize. Half expected Texas Killing Fields to be here as you got to the top 10.
Totally agree about Lone Star. You forgot to mention Kris Kristofferson's bad guy. Loved Frailty. Car chase scene in We Own The Night one of the best. Totally overlooked. Also loved Take Shelter. Thank you for the list!
Always look foreword to your lists Sir. Thank you for some great recommendations. I now have some undiscovered (At least to me) films , and a few that I would love to experience once again
Great list, dude!! I already love a few of them & there’s a couple I’ve wanted to see but haven’t & a few unknowns I’m gonna check too!!! Good job.👍🏻♥️
I always remember Samara Weaving from Home & Away. Yes, I was guilty of watching it 😏 Also seen Bronson more times than I care to admit. Tom Hardy was superb as the unhinged Bronson. Subbed!
Damn, guess I'll have to be on the lookout later because Take Shelter, Seraphim Falls, Afro Samurai and We Own the Night are all no longer on Tubi. Bummer because they look pretty awesome!
I remember "We Own the Night" as being a good movie but couldn't really give you a story line because it just didn't stay with me but I will rewatch! "Lone Star" however, is a classic and I've watched it probably, 4 or 5 times and it just doesn't get old. I'll watch it again and won't be disappointed at all. All the actors have great parts and they all "bring it", as the saying goes.
Can't believe you didn't mention Jessica Chastain in Pale Shelter...Shannon is great but it is definitely a performance enhanced by playing off of her too.
Hey Darren whassup!!?? Thanks for another great list. Unforgettable was great, id forgotten about it and I loved Ray. Compliance was disturbing when you realize it's as you said based on actual events. p.s. I'd forgotten about Frailty, very good

Looks like I'll have to add 'Cold in July' to my watchlist.
The only thing is it's NOT free if I have to watch their commercials, especially when I pay for all of these services 😢😢
"Bronson" doesn't seem to be currently available on Tubi in the United States. Awesome recommendations as always, & I thank you for putting these out. Fellow Mississippian here.
Don't you wonder about Matthew M. ? He does not seem to be in movies now? Always plays absorbing characters.
hey darren i have an awesome movie for you to watch ......i think you should put it on 1 of your videos......the movie is Cherry(2021) main actor in it is tom holland.......daaaaam its a good movie im surprised its not on 1 of your lists

Lansdale was also responsible for Bubba Hotep and the underrated series Hap and Leonard.
I would love to see an adaptation of The Bottoms.
@@danigreen2595 Me, too! That's probably my favorite of his novels.
Frailty deserve more credit. Is a excelent movie. Another unrated movie is Kurt Rusell’s Breakdown 1997. Appleseed too
"SKIN I LIVE IN" IS ANOTHER WILD FILM BY DIRECTOR PEDRO ALMOVADAR, CLASSIC FILMS!❤
That was a great FLICK CONNECTION Darren. Agree with you on Bronson and Point Break. 2 superb movies. Great to see Peanut still in good health. Many thanks for sharing with us 👍👍👍
Can’t find
Can’t find Bronson on Tubi

So glad to see Take Shelter get some love. It's a great movie.
I love Michael Shannon!
The first thing I saw him in was Bug. He was great.
Thanks dude, for suggesting Cold in July. Thoroughly enjoyed it, also Mayhem and Bronson. Great way to spend the day while avoiding crappie weather of east texas. Peace.

I can't recommend "Take Shelter" with Michael Shannon more highly! A great concept with first-rate performances by Shannon and Chastain.
I am so glad you put A Ghost Story here. Rooney Mara eats the crap out of some pie! I've been singing the praises of this and Take Shelter for years (Shelter was filmed in my hometown, weirdly.) Just discovered your channel, and really enjoying your out of left field picks.

Take Shelter is a beautiful film, very touching performance by Shannon.
Congratulations on 500k! You've earned it! Thanks for all the solid recommendations over the many months.
I just watched a double-feature for the ages that I bet even you haven't seen yet: Rubber & Hub Cap😁
He has recommended rubber in the past, not sure about hub cap
Frailty!! To my recollection, the only movie that's left me utterly shocked and surprised at the ending! It's a dark wild ride, but one worth taking!
Frailty is so great!
I agree. It took me by surprise. Don't want to say too much.

"Lone Star" is one of my all time favorites and my most oftern recommended movie to friends.
Bronson is one of my all time favorite movies. Just amazing.
I just watched one of your previous recommendations last night: Predestination. THAT...was a mind-bender. Very enjoyable. I think Seraphim Falls is next on my list.

Cool shirt . Gonna have to link my buddy whose a massive Ghostbusters fan.

There u are. ✌️
Thank You for the List and Video 😀
Frailty is such a great movie loved it and I also love how it's an underground classic .... truly a hidden gem 😊
I've seen Blue Caprice and a couple of the others but I'm watching Unforgettable as I'm typing this and Point Blank (1967) is next! I'm a huge fan we have very similar tastes so when I'm in a jam I always see what you got going on! Thanks and keep it up!
I loved A Ghost Story. It was slow but totally absorbing. The ending of Take Shelter is worth the whole movie.
The big red one... Every time I see Lee Marvin I have to go back to it.
Your lists are indicating that 2024 will be big, very big, for your channel. You're knocking them out of the park Darren !
Solid list Darren!
Fantastic list as always! "The Skin I Live In" is one we haven't gotten to yet.
It's an interesting director Almodovar. My fav of his is "Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!" also with Banderas.
@@jotade2098 oh wow didnt know that. thanks for the info.
Frailty is great! And I'm a big fan of Point Blank - the director's cut is best
Bill Paxton ruled in this one! He is missed.
Thanks Darren ❤❤❤
Lola from A24 ❤
Cold In July was such a pleasant surprise for me. Same for Lone Star.
One of my favorite movies is PAYBACK....
Awesome smorgasbord thank you sir!

That was really a great list!👍👍👍 Thank you!
Good list and presentation. It's a nice change from the more 'usual' lists which for me are too top-heavy with action movies. Thanks.
the hair Darren...oh yes.. :).. lovely list bro...thanks for the work!
Great list, dude!! I already love a few of them & there’s a couple I’ve wanted to see but haven’t & a few unknowns I’m gonna check too!!! Good job.👍🏻♥️
Frailty is a favorite. Seen it a few times. Will probably watch again.
Really appreciate your recommendations and hard work. Thanks for what you do.
"A forgotten gem from the 90s, Unforgettable "

Love that movie.
I agree with you regarding Take Shelter and Michael Shannon’s performance. Excellent flick.
Looking forward to watching these thanks!

dronson rocked! thank you
Sure you know that Lee Marvin was a real life badass. Fought in the Pacific, in WW2. As did Eddie Albert, also a total badass. Thanks for the reccos.
Good list. Saw Serenity (2019) a while back.. really good movie. Def some twists & turns with it.
Just wow. You can sure find the gems.
Frailty is amazing
Take Shelter is phenomenal!
Frailty is an AWESOME movie!!
Also, just watched A Ghost Story. Very different but really enjoyed it.
Cold in July is great
A ghost story def for a particular audience when I saw it I really enjoyed the ambiance of it.
I am surprised Bone Tomahawk wasn't on your list! I just loaded up Tubi and hey it's free so there is some good free movies available.
Love your video. Keep making more video like this.
Ooooh Lone Star!?! I'll check it out.
Some real gems here.
Compliance is unbelievably uncomfortable but really well made.
stopped it when introducing Take Shelter....need to watch it first :)
My kind of list!
Thank you!
Because of this video, I went and watched Mud for the first time. Great suggestion.
Good
Great video! 👍😉
Hey Darren whassup!!?? Thanks for another great list. Unforgettable was great, id forgotten about it and I loved Ray. Compliance was disturbing when you realize it's as you said based on actual events. p.s. I'd forgotten about Frailty, very good
Love Frailty. You coincidentally put a bit of Matthew McConaughey on your list.
Mayhem top tier absolutely amazing 💯
Blue Caprice - It was not his son.
"Unforgettable" is a forgotten gem of the 90s"...I see what you did there lol.
