국가무형문화재 줄타기를 이수한 남창동은 2023년 전역 후 서울대 국악과에서 타악을 전공하는 학생으로 8살 때부터 줄을 타기 시작한 21세 대학생 줄광대이다.
그의 부친 명창 남해웅은 국립창극단 부수석단원이고 형은 2022년 국립국악원에서 주최하는 판소리 경연대회에서 금상을 수상한 소리꾼 남상동이다.
이렇게 광대로 살아가는 3부자가 KBS 다큐 인간극장에 출연하기도 했다.
