Vanlifers all say "living in a van teaches you how surprisingly few things you need to own" - and then comes this guy.
srsly! I’m watching this, I say out loud to my iPad, “you have 5 backpacks, 2 shovels, and 2 helmets.” then he pulls out backpack number 6!

Yeah, he's definitely getting alot of activities in. When you're serious about your own interest, you'll find the time. As you basically replace your interest with needing to have or keep random folk company for superficial wants, etc.

Very interesting how you actually showed everything you have in there. Honestly I not sure this is exactly a minimalist style. You have an amazing number of backpacks alone.
@@cherylkruisheer3365 its all in context.... minimalist doesn't mean have nothing, its living without things you don't use or need. everything he has he uses. maybe when he lived in a house he had 40 backpacks... now he only uses 6.. :)

Hands down, the best micro van conversion I've seen yet. Of course, it is detailed to your personal likings and needs, but it is what I think a micro van should be: not luxurious, not fancy, just calculated and efficcient. And I love the DIY vibe!

Finally! a van built for outdoor adventure instead of needless decor! Absolutely love the under-bed ski storage and how much gear this van can hold!
😂 “needless decor” 😂 unlike trying to tote around luxury kitchen or luxury living on the go this guy is true outdoor survival mode with all outdoor built in mind. My favorite part is the home gym van and the crawl out window from front seat into the back too cute.

I love how you showed us what was in each bag without have to taking them out and being bored. It was fast and everything was on display what a smart thing to do. And other videos you have to take the time to see them put out all of their things one by one and becomes really boring I like your set up great job

Dude....I watch every van build on youtube and this is by far, not only the sickest build I have seen, but you have everything you would possibly need and it's all packed perfectly!! Not to mention a perfect electrical setup. Holy crap!

I’ve never seen such a well thought out and brilliant build. The way that you were intentional on all the little things… Just kind of amazing. This is definitely a video people need to keep saved if there ever looking to do something similar. It’s like you thought of everything.
One of your last comments you made about what drove you to convert a smaller vehicle was to “ challenge yourself”. You thought it “might sound strange” but I completely identify with that

This build is absolutely amazing. You have thought of everything. You should be extremely proud. Anyone who isn't impressed is just annoyed they weren't able to make a van build this cool.

That build is nothing short of amazing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the power shades! I think the narrower bed is a GREAT thing. You have so much storage and equipment, it’s unbelievable what you fit in that van. I think the only thing that bothered me was how close the stovetop looks to the cabinet above it but that could have been camera angle. Whatever works! Quite impressive… really incredible job!
It’s incredible how you’ve utilized every nook and cranny of the van, and you’re SO organized. You know where every single thing resides. Really impressive.
I'm organized but this young man definitely works wonders in this small space, impressive construction and unique electrical installation.
I can see you are all charged up about electrical and tech and that this is what you prioritized and determined to build, and minimalist, with much thought and care. This is definitely where you resonate. You do not have too many hobbies as some think. Intelligence challenges, fun, exercise in the outdoors, etc, is necessary fitness and therapeutic outlet.

I have 2 things to comment on . . . . . having the light come on with the pump, at the sink, is a little thing but genius!

Unbelievable number of items in overhead storage. I kept waiting for circus little people to pop out also. You have the largest number of items I have ever seen in a van build and yet you identify as a minimalist. When you need an item, do you accidentally search the wrong door or bag? I tend to forget where I put that one indispensable item. I really enjoyed this video.
Kudos for only putting what is important to you in your van so you can do what you want and not succumbing to social pressures. I’m also one who is VERY impressed by all the stuff u fit in there.

I love-love-love the ONE TOUCH window close & open!!! And clever idea to have the light switch come on when the pump is on so you don’t forget to turn it off!

Maybe you call yourself a minimalist because you use everything that you have? I enjoyed your video very much I think you did an excellent job with the tour.

This is one of only a few smaller van builds I've seen recently which has enough features and is well-thought enough to really live out of. Congrats. If you are thinking of other videos, would love to see more info on the auto window shades, and also the hack to get your shaver on 12-volt :)

I can’t convey how utterly impressed I am, on so many levels. I’ve been looking for a van to convert and now after seeing this I am looking at smaller vans because it would be so much easier easy to double as an everyday vehicle. Best Transit Connect conversion and best small van conversion I have seen. Also, you seem like a really cool guy.

Ok, I've read through all the wonderful comments, and I'm a 💯 % in agreement with them all🤗 So It's all been said! Im just so impressed! I have decided just within the last 3 weeks that this is what I want to do. I'm 69😮 I have no idea how I got to this age so quickly🤔. I love going😂 I'm very healthy and not afraid to go anywhere by myself. Of course, I'm never alone because of my relationship with Jesus. I've been looking at Market Place for a van and watching videos, which is how I found you😊 I've just sent my 16 year old grandson this video. If he has any understanding of what he sees on your videos, and feels he can make at least some of your inventions happen for me, I will be paying him to set up my van in time🤗 I know you have been so encouraging to many people. And we appreciate you❤ I have a lot of respect for who you are and the life you've chosen at such a young age. Holy moly. This is by far the best van conversion video I've ever seen. Not only is it really impressive how much skill went into this conversion, but you also seem like someone that would be great to hang out with - which, after endless videos of seemingly-identical straight, normie couples with beanies, bible verse tattoos and golden retrievers, is such a sight for sore, glazed over eyes. Amazing ...one man " unlimited cash, unlimited time ,no financial worries and all the time in the world to have fun. easy for some eh". He should have got his parents to buy him an island in the med.
I think the most efficient use of space I have seen so far. The kitchen set up and the squishy bed space is the only drawback in my opinion, but as you say you get to travel and do things that make you happy.
So organized and what a memory! I'd be hunting for things all day long cuz I'd forget where I put what! I am so impressed! 😆👍 Nice build!

glad you mentioned the smallness of these type's of vans...I recall trying to sleep by ski lifts in larger vans
and especially motor homes and getting kicked out in the middle of the night when you just wanted to get on the
lift early.

I am not a minimalist and never would be, but I am so impressed by what you’ve done. It reminded me of a friend who lived in a sailboat for a while. He had all these tiny little compartments and each one had a number on it and that’s how he tracked what he put in each drawer because you have to make use of every single cubic inch. I have a house and it’s not big, but I’ll spend hours every week thinking now where did I put those extra hair ties or some other related item. I am also very impressed that you remembered what was in each item! I have a lot of bags like you have and I have to open them every day. I find myself saying “ oh that’s right that’s where I put my extra medication”, “oh that’s right, that’s where I put the things for my bad knee” over and over again. 😠

It is an extraordinary build for sure! You succeeded in your goal of minimalist living. Some of the things I liked:
1. Two rear fold down tables on the doors, very nice!
2. Electrical panel mounted on wood against the sliding door, very effective use of space.
3. Love the colorful ceiling, so nice.
4. Long ski storage area under the bed. Clever to make that huge space.
5. The auto window blinds - genius! I'd love to know how you automated the blinds, this is really cool!
6. I like the bold colors and different surface textures. Very nice kitchen countertop, looks like Corian. Lovely.
A fine job on the build. I don't know how you fit all that in, and whether you are within range of the GVWR weight ratings. The Transit Connect does not have much CCC or cargo carrying capacity.
Personally, I would get a larger van for all your gear and ease of cooking and living. This is too small for all your hobbies. Not safe to put propane here either. Thanks for an enjoyable tour. You are a genius!
Agree totally regarding amazing fit out and re the safety/legal concerns. The GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass), being the total weight of the vehicle when loaded (including people), is well exceeded! The wooden cupboard above the stove is way too close to the flames.
However I’m totally impressed at his ingenuity - have not seen any professional or self build with all his switches etc. - loved the little things like light turning on to remind him the water pump was on.
Dude, this build is legendary. I’m starting a conversion van build and was getting very discouraged in the lack of space compared to a promaster etc. and you’ve just completely inspired me. Thank you!

Kudos! Am thoroughly impressed with how you have used the space to have more while having less. All practical. Have you considered doing small van builds for others? I’m a young 73, US citizen, living in Mexico, looking for ways to travel both countries inexpensively.
I think I would need to learn some new skills and employ some help to put together something that I would be comfortable selling professionally. Being a DIY project this build definitely has some "quirks." Safe travels!

this is literally the best video ive seen for a SMALL van buid. you literally fit EVERYTHING but a shower inside that van!!! most people stick a bed and call it a day. i am very impress plus you dont look short so it must be hard to move around. for a girl 155cm this is perfect, im 167cm
