I compared 9 AI Voices (so you don't have to!). Which AI vocal sounds best?

Hadn't heard of ControllaVoice until just a few minutes ago, but it sounds like the best one I've heard so far... Realistic expression and dynamics, no jarring artifacts or exaggerated flaws carried over from the source input, etc. We're getting insanely close to not needing human performers at all.

Possibly more messing around than you want to do but it is possible to use Rnnoise and Audacity to clean up a vocal and get rid of a lot of those plosives. Rnnoise works very well on voice. It and Audacity are free. You'd get far more functions from a DAW like Reaper but not everyone has money to spend on these. things.

Hi Kerry - I'll check those out! Are you talking about using those on the ai output or on my narration for the video (asking honestly)... Let me know! Thank you so much for the suggestion!

This is to say you generally apply the noise reduction to your dry vocal stems. Rnnoise will work with Reaper/Audacity/Goldwave/Insert digital audio workstation software here that can accept a VST. OBS-Studio also has it built in. You sometimes need to tune it a little but it does a really good job without destroying too much of the source audio. Bad things happen if you use it for things that are not voice.
SuperTone Clear is more flexible and can remove echos and other things however it is not cheap. Cheaper than Isotope RX etc.

Aha - yes, reducing background noise and echo make the conversions so much better. And I understand about costs; that is why I like to show free or tools that are an excellent value. Melda, Kilohertz, and Bluecat all make great free tools for this purpose as well; sometimes a noise gate may be a better choice. Thanks for the info on Rnnoise!

Thanks a lot for your work, that’s the second video I check about those ai voice changers and they are great. I’m curious have you tried soundid voice ai? I’m hesitating between the different price modèles. I’m a 12 years trained musicologist with perfect pitch ear so zero pb composing or orchestrating but when it comes to mixing I’m barely at the end of my second year with still so many things to learn to get comfortable😅 so tools that can help me finish tracks in a safe way are always welcome. Have you tried reusing these stems in a daw to mix them properly( I heard a few pitch inconsistencies and volume in the context of the song) and if so did you manage to keep enough resolution to work with it? Thanks again have a great day 🍻

Thanks for watching! I haven't tried SoundID voice yet but its definitely on my list. I'll talk about mixing etc in future videos.

Good work on this, very helpful. I think most "average" singers want an AI option that improves their voices, but that still sounds like them, i.e. not changing a woman's voice to a man's. What option do you believe provides improvement without sounding like an entirely different person? Keep up the good work. New subscriber her.

I tried a few where I can blend just enough of the AI voice behind mine to improve it but still sound a lot like me, but I haven't worked out a good enough vocal on my end for a video yet. Meanwhile, maybe try Kits or Ace (you may have to pay for a month to try blending your voice with theirs) and see if that helps out? Just a guess; Thank you for subscribing!

@@CreativelyMakeAIMusic kits ai looks like a good trial option; I uploaded a test vocal isolated in a song in Audacity and applied one of the vocal clone options...it sounded better, so that's good. I'll do a 3-day trial and get back to you. Thanks a lot for the tip...have a great holiday season.

VoiceAI by SoundID is the best one in my opinion but it's not in the video.

I agree - it sounds great and I love that you can run it locally. I'd like to use it for a video but need to buy it in order to do so as I've already used up my free trial.
