You guys probably don't know how much joy you brought to those children. ♡ Just being able to talk and then letting them use the camera. That was nice. Kids love stuff like that. When is that baby coming!? Hahaha I was cracking up. 🤐😂
If they have them there, always carry a can of fix-a-flat, the spray stuff that will seal & inflate a tire. It's temporary but will help you get back home. Or, a tube repair kit, portable pump, & some tools to remove the tire! 😁 just what you wanted to hear, right?😁 pre-paredness trumps problems!
I admire your beautiful wife for her sensitivity. Yes, majority of Filipinas are still a bit modest. Some are really conservative and would prepare to wear shirt & short over bikini. I guess its part of our culture. However, dont let us stop you from enjoying your swim. It is also part of our culture to be open minded to other cultures and not be offended because you prefer to wear a bikini and we don't. But thank you for being thoughtful. Love the way you interacted with those kids. You made their day. Communication is one of the struggles of every travellers. But here, even kids could speak English. Not all, but most Filipinos do. Isn't it more fun in the Philippines?
Yes many days we have interacted with the children here. They are all so friendly! So nice being in a place where you can pretty much talk to 100% of the people :D One thing that makes the Philippines very unique in south east asia for sure!
I have been waiting for this vlog. Good start of Siquijor. With what I have seen of Siquijor through various vlogs, you are the FIRST vlogger to feature that swimming pool. I believe only locals, specially children, swim in that pool. Is it near the commercial or residential area or inside a public park? I also believe Carol is right in her decision. If you are in a Philippine beach, pool or waterfalls and see many travelers wearing swimsuits, then go ahead and do the same. Now if you are in a swimming location where no one wear a swimsuit, the question is - Are you comfortable wearing a swimsuit (bikini) with many people keep on staring at you? If yes, then proceed to do so. If not, then you can wear something like a sarong to cover your body or shorts and t-shirt/blouse just like what most local women do. Generally, it is okay for Filipino men to be shirtless in the pool or along the streets and other public places. There are also Filipino women go sexy in public places but you have to be a bit careful. I hope my explanations have helped you understand our culture and society. By the way, by this time are you already in Siargao? Thanks.
Thanks a lot for the explanation, yeah to be honest before I came here i thought it would be like south or central america but I have realized that it is definitely quite a bit more conservative here, for the women anyway. the tree wasn't really near anything really, in the middle of just forest. I think there was only a few houses near
Capilay Spring Park is a public place and it's not allowed to wear bikinis in public places in that area of the island. You can have your bikinis in private and isolated beach resorts
........hey Chris & Carol......yes you can wear bikini anywhere where you wish to swim or sunbathe........the only taboo here is sunbathing or swimming in the nude(there was once a nudist beach in Puerto Galera & Boracay many years ago but it was shut down)....... :)
I was born there but grew up in the states. Thanks for sharing how beautiful the Phil island beaches. I'm inspired to make plans to travel after this Covid crisis. Stay safe and well. I enjo6 your call spirits. God bless
I grew up there (but moved to the US at age 15) and I haven't even been to those places! Lucky you! And I just discovered your channel and have been binge-watching 🤩
I love Siquijor one of my favorites spots, why you don't wear trunk in beach than pant not use to, the swimsuit ok no problem. Until now I mesmerized you're the authentic tone of voice so soft-spoken it means your kind person personally.
Hey jumpers just landed on your channel, i like your vlogs. Informative, good drone work, decent back ground music, adventures, and of course its the phill. Are you from scotland?
your wife’s right. not many filipinas wear bikinis in beaches, unless theyre in popular resorts. she wouldve been oogled at by those filipino guys. especially, w/ her gorgeous body. its a rare sight for them cause filipinas tend to be conservative. she read the situation well
Thanks guys for visiting and showing the truth that Philippines is not a Dangerous country as what the internet propaganda is spreading!! Thumbs up guys!! 👊👊👊🇵🇭
I know exactly all this places at ,I grew up on this island now living in the abroad...nice video man ..I'll be home there soon for vacation attending holy week..
Having flat tire is very common for motorists, hope you're okay on your trip. Just enjoy! Oh those trees you found on the beach are called mangroves, it's there to preserve the beach
Hi Chris and Carol, I am enjoying your videos😍 Filipino kids are so fond of foreigners, you made them so happy! Just by saying HELLO to those people on the road. Filipinos are just so friendly and hospitable.❤️ You guys are so kind and pure 🥺
yeah, your girl is right, you have to be wary about cultural sensitivities (bikinis), beach is ok for bikinis but local resorts are different, Good you girl knows it...
Bikinis are not normally worn by Filipino women. It's normal to see women swimming in shorts and shirts or even wetsuits in resorts catering more to local people. It's not a safety thing nor a religious thing, it's a modesty thing. Most Filipino women are just not comfortable with it. It's not a rule (not shariah or anything like in Muslim countries), it's a choice. You can definitely choose to wear a bikini and no one will object.
I could say that the Filipinos are predominantly conservative people. If you go to a touristy place, wearing bikinis would not be an issue. On the other hand, it is common for Filipino men to be walking around with their shirts off because of the heat.
Philippines is relatively conservative particularly in the rural non touristy areas, so she made the right decision not to jump in in a bikini. Enjoy the Philippines.
I plan on traveling there around Aug time frame less touristy. Do you think as a one man band staying in the Philippines for a month is feesible? Id like plenty of time to travel about and see it all. Any tips or suggestions? Enjoy guys!
Gee... I'm Indonesian living in East Java but I hardly find beaches with water as clear as those that're in the Philippines. I'm sure here in Indonesia there are plenty of white sandy beaches, but somehow I feel they are too remote to access and way more expensive to reach... Well I guess probably it's also due to the size of the country..
re: Bikini. Filipinas are quite shy to display too much skin public wearing daring and sexy style swimwear... But they are ok and understanding with foreigners...
females in the Phillippines normally wont wear bikinis for mostly 2 reasons, #1 most are conservative, #2 they dont want to get their skin get dark, but dont worry wearing bikinis, they are used to foreigners wearing bikinis
You guys are amazing and your vlogs make me want to go back home and enjoy those places you’ve visited. It’s such a shame I haven’t been to those beautiful beaches myself when I am originally from the Phil.Perhaps one day but for now i’ll have to enjoy watching your vlogs and look forward to more.Cheers! 🍻
Your rigth we have too many beautiful beaches too bad Filipinos don't like to swim we scared of getting tan becoz were already tan that's why most of our beaches are empty....were saving for foreigner so they can enjoy our country. ...hope your enjoying our country. ..
Enjoying it a lot! Yeah local people told me that many don’t like getting a tan because it is a sign of poverty. It is an Asian thing really I guess as other countries around here are the same. Meanwhile all the westerners want to turn into lobsters lol
Those fishes literally are eating you guys hehehe, but they only eat the dead skin so they nibble on your calloused feet getting a massage on the process. Those fish beats using lava rocks to smoothen your feet's skin 👍✌️🤙
@@JumpingPlaces yes they know which feet needs extra cleaning 😊 I saw a vlog where one lady's feet was inundated by the fishes and her friend barely got any even when she placed her feet right next to her friend 😁
Wow,,the fact that you comeback here in Philippines thats the indicator that you love our country........Enjoy your stay guys.....
You guys probably don't know how much joy you brought to those children. ♡ Just being able to talk and then letting them use the camera. That was nice. Kids love stuff like that.

Yeah they seemed surprised when i let them do that lol Kids are always awesome here :D
