I wish I could find a place similar to this for my girlfriend's family in the Visayas (Abuyog). They are currently in a "boarding home" they say and they have to leave and are struggling to find a place... Any advice? I am here in California, US and have never yet been to the Philippines (will be going there in February for the first time) so am limited in my local knowledge.
It reminds me of the quote. “In this home… We do second chances. We do real. We do mistakes. We do I’m sorrys. We do loud really well. We do hugs. We do together best of all.” we enjoyed the video!

Yeah no kidding. I am so tired of people in Dumaguete bragging about their $400/month place. That is expensive.
Too many expat vloggers continue to insist without $2500 USD a month, you are not living, but barely existing in the Philippines......thank you so much for showing the "real" Philippines. Everyone does not need a high rise condo with pool and exercise room and eat at expensively three times a day. This woman and her family seem very happy and prove luxuries don`t mean happiness.

Another entertaining video guys the house has everything the only thing i dont see is the father for all those kids...
The kids are being looked after while the parents are working. She runs a kindergarten to earn enough money to pay her way in life.

They could have use a barn style door in the bathroom to create more room. I like their home. It's small, inexpensive and above all, clean. Perfect for a small family of 3 or even 4.

I’m with you on that but.. Basements flood in the Philippines so not many homes have basements. I stayed In the mountains home with basement nice and cool. Aircon is a must.

Geez.Thats about 10 gallons of gas here in Cali good for a couple of days of driving. Current rent for a 2 BR apartment is $2k and expect to increase at lease renewal next month. What a great lesson us entitled spoiled Americans could learn from this simple family. To appreciate what you have, though it isn't much by western standards, but to these simple folk it is like living in a mansion. To be happy and content with the little that you have speaks volumes of the Philippine people who struggle to attain even the bare necessities of life. What matters is not the size or quality of your house but the size of your smile and heart of appreciation, the laughter, the joy, and the harmony of the family..These are the things that make a person rich, not the amount of money in his bank account..
