  • Qantas Airways (VH-OJS) [Hamilton Island] Boeing 747-438 - with Rolls Royce RB211-524G/H-T engines - departing Perth Airport on RW03.
    This aircraft first flew on September 20, 1999 and was delivered to Qantas on September 30, 1999.
    OJS was withdrawn from service on February 18, 2019 and is stored at the Mojave Air and Space Port (KMHV) in the United States.

    I never flew on a 747 but it's good to see a video and hear the sounds of the engines

    Pity Qantas didn't donate a 747 to every major capital city airport so that the public could view it, sit in it and remininsce because I sure would like to. Long live the Jumbo.

    Amazing footage, really impressive!
    Somewhere I have some photos of OJS making a tech stop here on the way to JNB with a fifth engine pod. With its retirement, there's only one RR 747 left in the Qantas fleet, so no more five-engine ops 😢
