I bought this following the recommendation and fitted it at the weekend into my 2014 2.0L TDI Scirocco. I’ve no real experience of doing anything like it before but it went perfectly. I just plugged everything in and it all worked. Took a minute for the steering wheel controls to sort themselves out etc, but just turning the car off and on seemed to sort it. I was a bit concerned whether my rear parking sensors would still work, but they do perfectly and the on screen display is actually even better than before. The only thing that’s no longer working is the DAB, which I need to buy that adapter for if I want to use it, but it works so well with CarPlay that I’m not sure I’ll bother. 100% recommend! Plus the discount meant it cost just under £213, and absolute bargain. Thanks Alex! Incredibly helpful as always!
@AlexTheGrumpyOne Very good. I've fixed the antenna along the left a-frame pillar under the covering. I have good signal strength. Had to play around with the APN settings for the sim card, but all good. Won't get the DAB antenna. I stream Spotify mainly. Don't list to commercial radio or it's digital off shoots. I did have a small linking problem with Bluetooth, but I cleared the cache on the unit and the phone. Works well.
Hi, thank you for the detail information. I have Tiguan with the parking sensors instead of camera. May you know is this radio will show the sensor on the screen? Regards
In this Xtrons model, is it built-in GPS or there is a device that sticks on the dash? Also, on my speedometer display it shows which door is open, service info, etc. Does these features also integrates on the xtrons unit screen?
@AlexTheGrumpyOne yep. Disconnected the battery. In all fairness they both went off shortly after driving so hopefully all good now. Thanks for the help

Hi there. The best thing is to double check on the website if this model is compatible with yout vehicle. Reverse camera should connect to it. And the door opening indicator and etc does work and show on the unit including the AC controls
Great video! Only one question left.. Does the unit feature wireless android auto, or is it only available through a wired connection? Also... do you know if the unit has a capacitive or resistive type of display? I heard that resistive type of displays give a sluggish feel when (for instance) scrolling through a spotify library.. Hi . I've got this head unit. I've just fitted it today. I've got the dab xtrons adapter. But won't connect to dab , keeps saying not connecting. . Any idea what's going on ??
@AlexTheGrumpyOne hi I've used the usb connection behind unit, not the 2 that goes into glove box. I've down loaded a new dab+ app. Still no connection. So went into dab app setting and found that it was set to TV So changed it to radio. Now all works fine ..thanks for getting back to me anyway. Cheers
Just noticed that xtrons says this fits Scirocco 2008 to 2011. I have a 2012 R. I suspect it is the same dash and assembly? What year model is your Scirocco?
Ok. The unit is in and I've noticed the infamous battery drain issue. Is this adjusted by a setting change on the unit and if so, is there a coding issue in the unit itself? The two wires you mentioned are NOT connected. Other than that, it looks great.
@adrianlopezfernandez1991 ..Hi. it turns out that my battery was dying at the time I installed the unit. Once I changed the battery, I didn't have to connect the wires, nor did I have to adjust the settings in the unit. It was plug and play and it automatically disconnects when the key is removed. No drain. It must have something to do with the CANBUS settings in the car. Still, just check the sleep settings on the unit. It's been great ever since.

The Xtrons PX93MTVL radio has the gala function (speed dependent volume control) on how many adjustment steps?

@bridgy2011 I was just about to say. If you disconnected the battery it's normal for them to come on until you drive it

Have you plugged it in to USB connector? Then you going to DAB app?
Also which USB socket you have used?

I haven't plugged in Aftermarket camera yet. But it will be fine as there are adapters already in the pack 😀

Hi there. Yep I see what you mean. It's the same system and set up. My one is 2009 but I've had them on 2014 and 2012 models as well

Did you fix that? I have the same problem, the two wires are disconnected and the sleep mode is set to 10 (minimum value on the settings)
