Written and Recorded by Tim Baker. Mixed by Howie Beck.
Filmed by Marianna Margaret and edited by Curt Lobb
This video is almost shot almost entirely from in and around Whistler, BC. The performance was in The Point Artist-Run Centre.

To see young Johnny come home
    No messy dreams
    No methadone 💚
I saw you in Nashville w Half Moon Run
My pregnant girlfriend and I swayed to “Dance”
Still the most powerful performance I have witnessed.
    With love from Atlanta, Georgia

I haven't been this moved by lyrics in a very long time. Long live Tim Baker.

Been following you from the very early days Tim (when you were in SF). Without a doubt the best song you have ever written. Extremely powerful through the raw honesty and emotion conveyed. You are certainly letting your red heart show and its brilliant.

Few artists elicit emotion and tears in a way that appears to come easy to you. Thank you for everything and happy new year.

Hey, Tim Baker, would you please consider making the full live show you did the other day available here to watch again? I came to watch it in it's entirety just now and it is gone. :( It makes me heart feel sore. I've been enjoying this song Reckoning for a week, and am now again. It is beautiful with the banjo.

This may be the best banjo song I've heard.. and that's up some serious Jim Henson and Steve Martin stuff.

Here’s another try. It’s pretty close I think.
The storm sits above the house, that’s why I’m out
To feel the heat of the weekend, dry my hands on the poison pipes
Weave home through the lightning, long hands through the reckoning clouds
    Reaching down
Oh and when I die, will I have to watch my life? And make the same mistakes? Act the same drunk disgrace? Mhmm mmm.
I would like to see it backwards, slip back to that happy kid.
All the crap I collected, put it back into the weary earth.
Every anger melting, every scar back to perfect skin.
    See the bombs ascend.
See young Johnny come home, no messy dreams, no methadone.
Oh to hear the speeches fail. The hatred slowly going pale. Mhmm mmm.
    Ohs to string part.
Feel it empty out. Every crooked truth and crippling doubt.
To watch my body curl into the promise of a swollen girl, and then I’m a gasp of love in the young, fun and innocent. Mhmm mm.

Paul Thomas I keep hearing “see your daddy come home” which doesn’t make any more sense in the context of the song but carries a certain emotion to it I liked

@@delphiest Also I tend to hear "see Aunt Annie come home". Not sure if there's any way to confirm this without asking him though.
