      I know people that make 200k in 6 1/2 hours when things line up. It depends on what you’re doing. Most people don’t know anything but work, but there is so much more out there.

    I have never been dumb with a dollar . I just worked two winter spreads in a row . Been away from my daughter for 4 months . She's more important to me then working 365 days a year . This was the best year of my career . I easily banked 120g . Listen money is a lot in our lives. I'm taking it both of yas don't have children . My daughter is my world and she needs me as much as I need her . That's why I'm smart with a dollar . I can afford to do what I do because I put myself in that financial position . Get your money right guys and you can have the best of both worlds . Work hard and be a professional and then enjoy your life with your family . I own a house , rental property , investments , part owner in a gold mine . I'm not saying this to just say hey look at me . I say this to encourage others that as long as you work hard and dedicated yourself to achieving goals . Stay positive . Don't live to work but work to live !! Much respect men !!!

      Jacob Schofield thanks bro . I just try to live a positive life and be smart !! We make great money and I know guys that do not own anything . Finance everything , party like no tommorrow . And I know guys that are millionaires because they put themselves in that positron . I just live to be happy with myself and where I want to go in life !! Love your videos !! Keep them up . Keep being positive boys !! I wish nothing but success !!!

      Unfortunately 120k isn’t much these days per year. Sounds like you are single idk but my wife and I spend that alone on kids and mortgage cars bills etc. I don’t know how people can live and be happy making 50k a year. If a family doesn’t make at least 200k gross it’s a struggle for them or they have no drive to be better.

    when i worked in the Patch (24) years we used a lot of 3 day weekends for vacations. when i retired in 2004 at 42 yes i said 42 (start saving early) i left with a check that had 240 hours of unused vacation. back then i was making $37 per hour. $8880. we bought rental property with my 401K monies it pays way way better than any 401k account ever will. we have 6 houses we own outright and rent and i gunsmith part time we vacation in the winter mostly because the summers are for working on firearms and properties. " people with money stay that way by living poor, people without any money stay that way by living large". back in the day in the patch if you took a week off it was ok, 2 weeks off and someone was pissed and 3 weeks off and someone else was doing your job when you got back. accrue no DEBT only use credit cards for emergencies. sell something you aren't using to buy something you want and always let someone else pay the depreciation on equipment and vehicles and buy it used i haven't bought a brand new vehicle since 1979. work OT when you are young and save it because you won't have the stomach for it when you get older, because that's when your give a shit meter gets pegged out.

    Good points I feel much as you do. I hate planning trips vacations etc.. I got a new job starting monday the 22nd going on 7 12s wages in ca arent 20 dollar an hour more like 50. family wedding afew weeks out. I know why spend a couple Gs on time off?. Truth is my money is "right" I dont live by the weekly paycheck. but still kinda hard to part with all that money. I get plenty vacations just when I dont want them. Great point on borrowing money btw. I think a house to live inis ok to borrow, a car or truck Ive had one new truck and a mess of used ones all paid cash. Only credit card I have I use all the time pay it in full every month. You are right on Jacob

    That's exactly how I feel when I go on vacation. I get paid vacation at my job but I still hate going on vacation. I would much rather use my vacation days to take care of stuff at home and that's normally what I do. The thing is my girlfriend wants to go on vacation to the beach and I've took her there a few times but I never enjoy it because I know I'm just blowing a bunch of money that's not really benefitting my financial situation. My family is always complaining because I don't go with them on their vacations and they try to say I have the money to go because I make more than most of them. The thing is I save my money to buy things that will make me more money not to go get sunburned. Awesome video!

    • @insaynbcr
      @insaynbcr 6 лет назад

      Vacations don't have to be about flying to a tropical beach or some resort environment. Collect camping gear (new or used), and just get out of town. Go hang out in the woods near a creek or river, enjoy an adult beverage around a campfire, grill a good steak on the coals. Sleep in as long as you want.
      You are only young and fruitful for a limited amount of time. If you waste away your years by working ALL the time without a break (vacation/holiday), you could find yourself miserable in your retirement years regardless of how much money you have to spend at that time, because you are no longer young enough to enjoy it.

    It depends on the situation on my end I really try to reserve for family emergencies. But at times, I would take a vacay unless I have to. But agreeing with your input more, and making transitions in going into the welding field. Looking forward to relocating for one, the rest is secondary. The greatest part is I have no wife and kids so I can really make moves. Thank you for sharing.

    Hi guys. Can't agree with you too more ! My dad says you can go on vacations when you retire!!! I'm 51 years old. I live in Alberta Canada, working in the oil sands here. It's really cool to hear younger guys talk the way you guys talk. I had to learn the hard way. You guys got it at a young age!!! Love your videos. Keep up the good work!!!

    • @rentonarc

      andy robertson I work in the oil sands the last 12 years . I pipeline and work in the plants as well . I couldn't count the amount of older guys that worked there whole lives away and then retire and die of cancer or to beat up to do anything . If that's what you want to do with your life all the power . I make great money , I'm smart with it and I enjoy my life outside of work and try to be a great father and be apart of there lives . So yeah I'll work 2-4 months and take some time off . And not one worry in the world about coin . Got bank and more. Thank you Alberta for this great life !!!

    good advice for young guys that are somewhat new to the grind. however if you have a family like me you need to be able to set aside quality time with them especially with some of the ridiculous hours you find yourself working as a welder. so if my kids wanna go to Disney world for a week or 2 then that's what we're going to do

    Jacob Schofield Get that money in some good mutual funds in a Roth IRA and and let your money make 9 to 12 percent a year. Then pull it out tax free when your a little older. Annual inflation averages 3 percent, so if your money is not making at least 3 percent your losing money every year. I sound like Dave Ramsey lol.

    You guys nailed this right on the head. As a matter of fact my wife and her family planned a boat cruise maybe 6 months ago from the day it got planned I was not diggin the idea at all for all the reasons you mentioned. Well I'm not going on vacation, I got out of i just started back in the oilfields yesterday after chasing a different job only to find out my heart was still in the oil patch and to pursue welding. Well any who I'm not going on vacation because I'm not going to benefit from it.
