All of Peeta's best traits were taken away in the films, and they never even tried to establish these traits. For example, Josh as Peeta never really gets to show off his charm or his way with words. He's barely given lines to say and even when he is, they're short, to the point sentences, despite the fact that Peeta is very eloquent. XrGrimreap3rX The Capital is full of sick people, they're crazy and only care for themselves & the tribute that can wow them enough to become their favorite
According to me, THIS is the best scene in the movie...because in one time highlight 3 things: what Katniss will become, how Cinna is wonderful and brilliant, and what happens when the 'government' cannot control everything
When you think about it, Peeta did a great job with announcing how he was so scared to loose his 'wife' and his 'unborn' child, this would make the districts mad at the Capitol while also making sure that those from other districts sent gifts to them, and that the other districts would be more wary to attack Katniss, afraid to hurt the baby. It would keep her alive, he's such a wonderful character. I also love how he didn't technically lie because at the end of the series, Katniss is his wife and they had two children together.
Smorebunny *Sobs* Come here I need some of that icecream... *Takes the icecream* MUHAHAHA MY ICECREAM NOW, FOOL! *Hides in a different corner and eats icecream* *Sniffle* Cinna... 😭
One of my fave scenes. Full of defiance towards Snow and da FEELS when they all hold hands. It's kinda like the feel you get when you're feeling triumphant and stuffz. Can't quite explain it xD
I love how Katniss was worried about Peeta- only Peeta. When the game was about to begin, she wanted to find Peeta. When Peeta was battling someone and they went underwater and a canon was heard and she saw a floating body, she was scared it was Peeta. I love Katniss and Peeta's Relationship.
Can't help feeling a bit sorry for Katniss during Peeta's interview: 'Oh... so Peeta and I got married in secret and I'm pregnant. Yes... yes of course! I knew that. Of course I did. I REALLY hope Peeta knows what he's doing.'
Stanley Tucci (the host) is absolutely the gratest but also a bit underrated. He almost always plays supporting roles but always makes them a masterpiece!!!
After watching the whole trilogy again in a more mature mindset, I realized that the whole point of the movie is all about how the media is lowkey a major influencer. The image, the words people say in that level of audience and just even the fashion can cause a phenomenon. This makes me think how genuine are people with playforms, it maybe politicians, actors, personalities and etc.
When Caesar trails off while watching Katniss’s dress transform, I feel like his face sort of shows that he can tell exactly what political message is being sent here
MY GOD. this scene makes me feel so much. Cinna knew exactly what he was doing. he knew he'd be killed but he believed in the rebellion, he believed in Katniss (!) so much that he decided to make his death count. this scene shows us how powerful the human mind is. all he had to do is hint an idea to thousand of people, make a stand for the rebellion and it was done. he started the fire in that moment. once people saw that image of Katniss standing there in flames, there was no going back. once the idea is born, you cannot kill it. Katniss had the unimaginable resentment and angst towards the Capitol, but she needed Cinna to create the Mockingjay symbol, the symbol of the rebellion. Cinna, knowing that he was going to get killed for this, sacrificed his own life. from the very start, Cinna saw an opportunity in Katniss, he saw how unimaginably powerful she could be and he never failed to support her. i think Cinna never once thought of the possibility that the rebellion might not win. he was sitting amongst the audience in silence, waiting for his message hidden in her dress. such a powerful message. the moment somebody who profits from the status quo dares to stand up for the rebellion, it's done. he was sitting there knowing he'll die, and even in the last moments, he was telling Katniss that he had always believed in Kattnis. apart from Gale and Peeta, i truly believe that Cinna loved her (as a friend) just as much as the other two guys. with such respect, admiration and acceptance.
How normal people find out they’re pregnant: my period is late and the pregnancy test is positive. How Katniss found out she’s „pregnant“: 2:14 the boy she pretends to be in love with tells the whole country on live tv Oh and by the way: according to the books, they are only seventeen and pretend to be married and pregnant.
I honestly felt that in the movies one of the best scenes was cinna bowing after everyone was clapping over the mockingjay dress. It was like his final bow
The most underrated thing about this scene, I think, is the symbolism behind the dress. The wedding gown, a forced character that Katniss had to take on that symbolised a "love between Peeta and Katniss" though Katniss only acted so to stay alive, catches fire and burns away, into a mockingjay, the figure of rebellion that Katniss became in Book 3. Book 2 is _named_ "Catching Fire", because it is precisely that transition from a servant of Panem.
1:24 That moment when you realize that Cinna was part of the rebellion since his very first moment as a stylist in the Hunger Games... He's like : "Hey, Snow, I know everything. I know how you would react. I know I'm going to die. But I'm betting on the Mockingjay. And I know she will defeat you at the end. If we burn, you burn with us." Man, I get goosebumps every time. Cinna is so freaking cool!
Yes, and Cinna even told Katniss that he volunteered to be her stylist after he saw her volunteer for her sister. Cinna is one of those who died a hero's death in Panem. Clothes as an expression of political conviction and agenda have never been as powerful as in this scene.
Capitol: "We don't mind kids getting killed. In fact, it's our form of entertainment." Peeta: "If it weren't for the baby" Capitol: "NO YOU CAN'T LET A BABY DIE BEFORE IT'S BORN!" sounds familiar...
Her earrings changed too, and her hair clips disappeared xD Cinna's magical. Also I love Peeta's subtle smirk after the audience starts screaming. He grows so much as a character
It's heartbreaking how Cinna died, while reading the book, I was always hoping that hez not actually dead and is just imprisoned by the capitol and he will be saved by Katniss at some point. Then I finished the series and that didnt happened, broke my heart.
I love to see other people discussing about Hunger Games even until today. All of these discussions are great and I believe that's the reason why Hunger Games will always be the best dystopian fiction.
2:19 to 2:22...This is literally the fricking best part of the movie!!! The most awesome expressions ever conjured in Hollywood... Damn, someone just present them with an Oscar...
Notice how all the tributes, including districts 1 & 2 are rebelling against the capitol. Although they weren't alliances with Katniss in the games, it's clear they too hated the games.
I loved how they did Cinna's character in the movies! I was just a little disappointed by how he looked. In the book, I remember Cinna having gold eyeliner that went out past his eyes and made curls on his cheeks, like butterfly wings. It's a shame they only have him simple gold eyeliner in the movies. Still love him though!
I remember watching this in the theatre and it giving me chills and goosebumps when Katniss raised her arms. Done such good justice to the books, this movie.
This whole interview gives me chills...! From all the tributes trying to stop the games, to Katniss' dress, to Peeta's lie, to them holding hands❤️ I just have to die 😍
@Kate Mcbride because it was a standard hunger games. This is not a simple quarter quell; i don't think the movie mentions it, but in the book the quarter quell happens earlier than normal - by several months - due to increased number of riots in the districts. By taking away each districts' victors, the capital is trying to crush their hopes in executing their strongest in the games. Trying to reassert their control.

So everyone thinks its ok for a 12 year old to die in the games but not an unborn baby?
XrGrimreap3rX The Capital is full of sick people, they're crazy and only care for themselves & the tribute that can wow them enough to become their favorite
XrGrimreap3rX i loved the first movie and this one but i cried when rue died in the first movie :c
They only care about the pretend baby bc it's katniss and peeta's and they're winners, I don't think they'd care if they were just normal tributes
+XrGrimreap3rX they're basically the Republicans.
*Capitol thinks it's ok
According to me, THIS is the best scene in the movie...because in one time highlight 3 things: what Katniss will become, how Cinna is wonderful and brilliant, and what happens when the 'government' cannot control everything
When every one started to say cancel the games
there's always that one guy that asked himself
Wait.....
Aren't they like 17?
Well I don’t think 17 is too young to have sex and I assume there are not a lot of contraceptives things in this dystopian world so...
Slushdog 101 ummm that was me👋🏻
lmao, me in the crowd
Wait I just realized that...
Age of constent is 16 in some countries 🤷♀️
When you think about it, Peeta did a great job with announcing how he was so scared to loose his 'wife' and his 'unborn' child, this would make the districts mad at the Capitol while also making sure that those from other districts sent gifts to them, and that the other districts would be more wary to attack Katniss, afraid to hurt the baby. It would keep her alive, he's such a wonderful character. I also love how he didn't technically lie because at the end of the series, Katniss is his wife and they had two children together.
NOOOO CINNA
*sits in corner with ice cream and cries *
Hahahaa same 😂
Lol :)
Do you needs a hug *out holds arms*
Smorebunny *Sobs*
Come here I need some of that icecream...
*Takes the icecream*
MUHAHAHA MY ICECREAM NOW, FOOL!
*Hides in a different corner and eats icecream*
*Sniffle* Cinna... 😭
Smorebunny **joins you with a thousand more bowls of icecream**
Man, Cinna was epic. And he gave his life knowingly. He was the match to the flame, but he died. What a man!
I remember reading this and thinking “this scene will be so powerful.”
*It did not disappoint*
"We want our love to be eternal." "Cool."
One of my fave scenes. Full of defiance towards Snow and da FEELS when they all hold hands. It's kinda like the feel you get when you're feeling triumphant and stuffz. Can't quite explain it xD
Fre Sha Voca Do ...pride?
I love how Katniss was worried about Peeta- only Peeta. When the game was about to begin, she wanted to find Peeta. When Peeta was battling someone and they went underwater and a canon was heard and she saw a floating body, she was scared it was Peeta. I love Katniss and Peeta's Relationship.
2:21
Haymitch: *cheers
Peeta: *smirks
Can't help feeling a bit sorry for Katniss during Peeta's interview:
'Oh... so Peeta and I got married in secret and I'm pregnant. Yes... yes of course! I knew that. Of course I did. I REALLY hope Peeta knows what he's doing.'
Cinna sending Snow the kiss is my favorite moment in the movie. It's just so good and means so much.
Cinna sends a kiss to Katniss.
Cinna was sending a kiss to Katniss which also looks like he was also doing an exact symbol of rebelling against the Capitol.
Stanley Tucci (the host) is absolutely the gratest but also a bit underrated. He almost always plays supporting roles but always makes them a masterpiece!!!
He handles the situation quite well since he's not entirely sure whether the pregnancy will affect the game
I tell you what, Peeta was SMART. He knew exactly how to play the dog and pony show part of the games and he did it WELL.
It’s nice to see that the people in the audience has a little bit of human decency, it’s not a lot but it’s something
Exactly like the book
One of the best book movie adaptations
It's not exactly like the book because peetas charm is way too underplayed and his elequency is disgraced
That slight smirk from Peeta is amazing
Katnesses reaction to Peeta news about the "baby" is priceless
Peeta is undeniably smart, both times he said something to get the crowd going and to try and save them both.
This scene represents such a victory for humanity which is why I love it!
2:09 PEETA'S PREGNANT!?
HearTheStone I am SUFFOCATING 😂😂😂
PEETA CONGRATULATIONS 🤩🥺🥰
WHAT AN UNEXPECTED TURN OF EVENTS 😲
Hey! 😂😂😂
😱
Johanna: F*ck you, SNOW!
Snow: Meh...
Katniss: I'm a bird!
Snow: FHSJDHGWBABCJC SNAJNDJWNA DKKWNQQ!
You make it seem so simple XD.
xXOneShotXx Lmao. That's so true.
HAHAHAHA
The wording of this had me in tears im dying
Thats how I change my clothes :P
:DD
Lol
That's how I crack my head open
Sabrina also
I prefer Joana's method
I understand things so much differently than watching this for the first time 10 years. The tension, the risk, the emotions, everything
When Caesar trails off while watching Katniss’s dress transform, I feel like his face sort of shows that he can tell exactly what political message is being sent here
Peeta's smirk is when looking at haymitch is EVERYTHING to me, it's small but it's clearly here
The Mockingjay scene was amazing ;)
Luffy!
Mugiwara Luffy
MY GOD. this scene makes me feel so much.
1:03 the score combines so perfectly with the scene. Gives me chills every time
How normal people find out they’re pregnant: my period is late and the pregnancy test is positive.
How Katniss found out she’s „pregnant“: 2:14 the boy she pretends to be in love with tells the whole country on live tv
Oh and by the way: according to the books, they are only seventeen and pretend to be married and pregnant.
well, it was in effort to stop the games
It wasn’t a total lie. They fell in love and had a baby for real later on. Too bad it didn’t happen right here and now.
LMAO. Katniss was like: ''PEETA WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!''
My face was the same when I read the books. C':
Haymitch was like “YOU GO GURL”
Caitlin Cats lmao that line reminds me about Thomas Brodie-Sangster
Haimich reaction is just the best!!! Hahaha I love this character and the actor plays him perfectly.
Peeta telling the capitol that Katniss was pregnant was a genius move.
I honestly felt that in the movies one of the best scenes was cinna bowing after everyone was clapping over the mockingjay dress. It was like his final bow
Yes and he knew it. He just kept his composure knowing the end was near.
@@Viewable11 wow, you're totally right!
Even the Careers holds their hands and raise them. I’ve always found it hugely significant.
PEETA'S JAWLINE😭😍😭 he's so fricken cute❤️❤️❤️
1:04
That would look great as an album cover,in my opinion.
Album Name:The Mockingjay's Flight
Peeta-"Our love is enternal"
Gale-"Am I a joke to you?"
Capitol: "We don't mind kids getting killed. In fact, it's our form of entertainment."
Peeta: "If it weren't for the baby"
Capitol: "NO YOU CAN'T LET A BABY DIE BEFORE IT'S BORN!"
sounds familiar...
Prophetic
PFFFT-
This was one of the greatest moments in the books, they did it well here. Katniss and Peeta played *everyone* , and I love it.
Her earrings changed too, and her hair clips disappeared xD Cinna's magical. Also I love Peeta's subtle smirk after the audience starts screaming. He grows so much as a character
I love Cinna and Effie. My two favorite Hunger Games characters. It was devastating when they killed off Cinna
Cinna knew the consequences and he did it anyway. He was a true hero.
First time I saw this scene, my first thought was: “Cinna’s a dead man”.
THIS IS WHY I LOVED CINNA
I have come here to see Snow s reaction after reading the prequel. The mockingjay symbol has so much more meaning now
2:19 to 2:22...This is literally the fricking best part of the movie!!!
The most awesome expressions ever conjured in Hollywood...
Damn, someone just present them with an Oscar...
Cinna knew the consequences. A moment of respect
Peeta can be clever and manipulative but his personality is sweet and gentle at the core. I love that.
Haymitch's be like- *nice play dude*
Done such good justice to the books, this movie.
seeing them holding hands always gives me chills, one of the most powerfull scenes
Katniss is like baby? What baby?!
Ugh fine I’ll rewatch the hunger games movies
This whole interview gives me chills...! From all the tributes trying to stop the games, to Katniss' dress, to Peeta's lie, to them holding hands❤️ I just have to die 😍
2:21 Haymitch: "Good that one, Peeta"
I love Haymitch!!!
0:44 My heart stopped.
Can a woman look more beautiful and dignified?
I think no. This winged dress looks absolutely amazing.
1:02 and that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you start a revolution!!
3:00 “cut the cameras... *deadass* “
Cinna: the one that actually creates rebellion
Poor Ceasar, he can't slip up, he knows the consequence but it's live TV and these kids just keep presenting new problems.
Would it hurt to get a chair for the stage? It's an INTERVIEW!
Trash No. 1 I love your name and pic but yeah I agree lol
To be honest it makes it feel more like a glorified execution. Prisoners to be killed don't usually get comfortable seating
