I went over Thanksgiving from the US to Switzerland over Thanksgiving with my wife and kids. For some reason when we went by the singing Christmas tree market they were asking for volunteers to sing as it was still November and the full choir roster wasn't full. My wife and I went up and they dressed us up in the outfits you see in this video and we sang various carols with the band and a tree full of other volunteers. It was wonderful and really capped off our trip. Thanks for uploading this video as it is nice to see a reminder of the sights and sounds.
Aww Amazing! Thank you for sharing that special memory with us that’s so fun. We loved the idea of the singing Christmas tree. Thank you for watching 😊
Thank you for your videos.Your description of the cities and markets was spot on. We just got back from Dresden and Berlin markets two days ago lol. My wife and i have been to 15 christmas markets so far.. Our favorite markets are Cologne and Brussels. We have been to all the markets you just visited it brought back great memories watching your videos. Next up for us will be the Vienna and Salzburg markets.
Wow! You're a Christmas market pro. We haven't been to Brussels yet, hopefully one day. We are so glad the videos brought back good memories for you! Thank you for watching! 😊
Thanks for the journey to these Christmas markets. I'm itching to get to these markets for the first time, next year. Considering between: (1) Prague->Rothenburg ODT->Cologne, or (2) Strasbourg->Colmar->Basel. I'll probably do (1) as I know zero French and the thought of ordering f&b in the language is rather 'scary' and, I'd like to see Colmar without the festive decorations. Merry Christmas & all the best for 2023!
We have heard great things about all of those Christmas markets! I wouldn't worry about not knowing French to travel to the (2) destinations they are definitely worth the visit as well. In our guides we give everything you need to know about traveling to France for Christmas markets even common French words you will need to know! Cologne was our favorite so we would highly suggest Germany first for Christmas markets. We hope the guides can help you plan your trip next year. @@AndrewandKait Thanks for the guide. I struggle greatly with the French pronunciations - tried saying ''bonjour'' 100x and none of it came out right, unlike the Italian similar-sounding equivalent which is quite easy.
Ahhhhh this has got me so inspired we just got back from Poland again (always fun at the Christmas markets) I can’t wait to try some of these places you e shown next year ❤
Thank you 😊 We really loved all of the Christmas markets we visited this year. If you're planning a visit we have itineraries for each stop to help plan your trip. andrewandkait.com/category/journeys/christmas-markets/ Your videos are great as well. Lapland is beautiful isn't it! We went last year and had such a great time seeing Santa in Rovaniemi.♥️
Thanks for these Xmas market vlogs. We are heading over to Europe later this year and we will be trying to visit these markets from Zurich through to Vienna. Great job on the vlogs, your style is easy to watch and very enjoyable, so I naturally subscribed. Keep up the good work guys.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate it 😊. We had such a great time on our Christmas markets journey. If you’re still in the planning stage check out our blogs on each stop hopefully they can help you plan the best trip ever! Thank you so much for watching and let us know how your trip went, we would love to hear your thoughts. Also we are headed to Vienna this year as well close to opening day we are super excited. andrewandkait.com/category/journeys/christmas-markets/
Another great video. Question - in either Basel or Zurich did you ever run across restaurants that had actual old Gondola cars set up with tables and chairs inside where you could actually be served in there to eat. I have seen many photos but can find no actual information on them.

We didn't see any of those. They had a few places to sit and eat , but no gondola chairs that we know of.
I only have 2 days in Switzerland this Christmas. I can’t decide between Basel or Zurich. Which did you like best?
Basel for sure!!
What date in November does the Christmas markets open? :)
November 23 this year!
Hi! Is Grindelwald already snowy in December 1? Visiting this year!
Not sure about Grindelwald, but Zurich had no snow yet Dec 1 last year. It was chilly but not snowy just yet
@@AndrewandKait are you mountains already snowy? Thank you for your response!
Not sure! We didn’t see any mountains where we visited in Basel & Zurich
Any tips on where and how to book the train tickets
We always use Trainline! We love it and use it all the time for booking train tickets all across Europe
@@AndrewandKait thanks
♥️♥️♥️
Thank you Karthick ♥️
