1:17, This PVC or whatever material you are using is not allowed in N.Y.C. U.S. where I live. Do you have an alternative plumbing material to recommend?

    • @HolicCreation
      @HolicCreation  5 дней назад +1

In New York City, specific regulations govern the use of plumbing materials to ensure safety and compliance with local building codes. If PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is not permitted for your plumbing project, here are some alternative materials you can consider:
      ### 1. **Copper Pipes**
      - **Advantages:**
      - Durable and long-lasting
      - Resistant to bacteria and corrosion
      - Can handle high water pressure and heat
      - **Disadvantages:**
      - More expensive than other materials
      - Requires soldering, which needs professional installation
      ### 2. **PEX (Cross-linked Polyethylene) Pipes**
      - **Advantages:**
      - Flexible and easy to install
      - Resistant to scale and chlorine
      - Good for both hot and cold water
      - **Disadvantages:**
      - Not UV resistant, so not suitable for outdoor use
      - May require special fittings and tools
      ### 3. **CPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride) Pipes**
      - **Advantages:**
      - Similar to PVC but with higher temperature tolerance
      - Good for both hot and cold water
      - Corrosion-resistant
      - **Disadvantages:**
      - More expensive than PVC
      - Can become brittle over time
      ### 4. **Galvanized Steel Pipes**
      - **Advantages:**
      - Very strong and durable
      - Can be used for high-pressure applications
      - **Disadvantages:**
      - Prone to rust and corrosion over time
      - Heavy and difficult to work with
      - Shorter lifespan compared to other materials
      ### 5. **Cast Iron Pipes**
      - **Advantages:**
      - Very durable and long-lasting
      - Excellent for drainage systems
      - Sound-dampening properties
      - **Disadvantages:**
      - Heavy and difficult to install
      - Can rust internally over time
      ### 6. **Stainless Steel Pipes**
      - **Advantages:**
      - Corrosion-resistant and durable
      - Aesthetic appeal for exposed plumbing
      - **Disadvantages:**
      - Expensive
      - Requires special tools for installation
      ### 7. **Brass Pipes**
      - **Advantages:**
      - Durable and corrosion-resistant
      - Excellent for hot water distribution
      - **Disadvantages:**
      - Expensive
      - Requires professional installation
      ### Choosing the Right Material
When selecting an alternative plumbing material, consider the following:
      - **Local Building Codes:** Always check the NYC plumbing code or consult with a licensed plumber to ensure compliance.
      - **Application:** Different materials are better suited for different applications, such as water supply, drainage, or gas lines.
      - **Budget:** Some materials are significantly more expensive than others.
      - **Installation:** Consider whether you will do it yourself or hire a professional.
For residential plumbing in NYC, **copper** and **PEX** are commonly used due to their reliability and compliance with local codes. Always consult with a licensed plumber to choose the best material for your specific needs and to ensure it meets all regulatory requirements.

I would choose PEX or CPVC

@@HolicCreation Because of the strict fire code in Manhattan in particular, the plumbing Jobs we did restricted our use of plumbing materials to just cast Iron & cooper

    • @HolicCreation
      @HolicCreation  4 дня назад +1

These materials comply with safety standards and ensure the durability and fire resistance necessary for the project. If you're limited to using only cast iron and copper for plumbing work, you'll probably need miter saws and welding skills to make one like mine. Or, more simply, you could use mesh.
