    Great to see a full video without any cutting. The Ito Campus is indeed HUGE and the buildings there look very modern. I love the areas surrounding the campus. Such a peaceful suburb with beautiful mountains far behind. I can't wait till the commencement of the academic year 2024-2025 in this October. Keep up the good work!

      The campus certainly has a lot to offer in the departments of size, beauty, and modernity. I am still in awe of the sheer scale of a lot of the academic buildings; they just seem to keep going forever when you're inside of them haha. A perfect place for a university, tucked up in the peaceful life of mountains and farms. Very grateful to be here! Thank you, and best of luck with your application process and coming here! :)

    OMG! I'm so glad I found your video. I went to Kyudai for a short program in 2015-2016. I used to live in dorm 1, too, on the 4th floor. This video brings back so many memories!!!. And how crazy it is that everything in the dorm looks precisely the same! The only change is that the laundry room has many washing and drying machines. There used to be only about 5 pairs for the whole building, hahaha.

    This takes me baaaack to my dorm days omg. I just graduated last year in September and I remember visiting my friend’s dorm at exactly the 4th floor of dorm one! I used to stay at dorm 3 so that was nice to visit him once in a while. Thanks for bringing the memories back I’ve been missing my uni days a lot!

    Interesting floor plan, although I am somewhat perplexed about the Japanese cultural superstition’s in regard to the usage of unlucky #’s. So during the filming inside the elevator I noticed an elevator button for the 4TH FLOOR, is this now acceptable in the Japanese culture seeing a 4TH FLOOR elevator button in Japan?

    @jakey in Japan I was just curious about what the admission process was like, the challenges you faced and what your experience has been like since you started? The way that I applied to Kyushu University was through my home university, University of Georgia. I am here on an exchange program, so the application process is pretty different. It was strenuous getting through everything my university required, but once I got through and met Kyushu's requirements, it was really a matter of just filling in information. I should really carve some time out and make a video for the application. I seem to get this question pretty often! Thank you for asking! I love Fukuoka as well and would really enjoy returning here in the future! I am sure you would love the school and area!

    Hi Jakey! Just wanted to ask whether there are Japanese students living in the same dorm as you are and whether it is easy to make friends with them. Keep up the good videos man!

    • @JakeyInJapan
      @JakeyInJapan  5 месяцев назад

      Yes! There are tons of Japanese students living here, and almost all of them are SUPER friendly! Also, once a week, the dorm hosts a Coffee Hour where all students are invited to the common room on the first floor. The students eat, drink, play games, and make friends! It's the perfect way to meet all kinds of people! And, I have joined the American football team at Kyushu University, so I have been extra busy lately, but I will definitely carve some time out soon to make some more content. It's been a while since I've posted haha...

    First again'😃😃. btw, do you know anything about game dev in japan? In US you gat a game degree but japan doesn't really have one? And please make a video about the food there, I heard settle international had a meal plan, what about the other dorms?

    • @JakeyInJapan
      @JakeyInJapan  6 месяцев назад

      Welcome back! Unfortunately, I don't know anything about game development degrees, but I do know that Kyushu University has classes in their School of Design that covers media creation and development like video games! I definitely plan to make some videos about food, probably starting with the cafeteria here. The food is phenomenally delicious and extremely cheap! The dorms near me (Dorms I, II, III) do not have meal plans since we live so close to the cafeteria (3-5 minute walk). However, I have heard of dorms offering meal plans though, so it is not an uncommon thing. I can't speak for all the dorms on Ito campus though, sorry

    • @JakeyInJapan
      @JakeyInJapan  2 месяца назад

      Thank you very much! I haven't heard the term batch strength before, but I assume you mean class size. All of my engineering classes have less than 10 students. At the low-end, 3, at the high-end, 8. Class time is pretty intimate, so there is always opportunity to ask questions or receive help/guidance!

    Hi Jackey, great video!. Do you think is a good idea to study a bachelor in engineering at Kyushu if you plan going back to the US?

    • @JakeyInJapan
      @JakeyInJapan  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you so much! I think it is a wonderful idea! I am currently studying mechanical engineering, and studying here has given me the opportunity to work with students of all kinds of backgrounds. Doing such has helped me grow more efficient in my problem-solving skills when working with a team. A lot of my classes in the US are filled with very similar-minded students, so oftentimes conflict in thought processes doesn't occur the way that it would here. I feel this has formed me into a more well rounded student and engineer as a whole. Aside from that, the education here is top tier, and I could not be happier with the facilities and material. Taking myself out of my comfort zone and being able to still perform my studies while experiencing a new culture will show employers that I am capable of more than just going to school and regurgitating information, as well. If you have the opportunity do study in Japan, I cannot recommend it enough!
      Keep in mind, though, you will still need to complete the FE Exam in the US (I think)! I see that it is offered in Japan as well, but it may differ in some way, or employers may prefer you take it in the US. I am not too sure about all this, but I wanted to include it anyway, as it is definitely something to consider!
