My guess is that the 4wd system or the drive shaft are busted. My brother in law had his drive shaft fall off(very very old beat up jeep Cherokee) in Alaska. Long story short you can put these trucks in 4 high and drive fwd without a drive shaft to the rear. They are 4wd or rwd, so that's the key here. Judging by the video considering the front wheels have power and the rear ones aren't spinning, it is in 4wd but there is no power going to the back for some reason. I am not a mechanic or anything so idk exactly what's going on here, but I have seen a fwd jeep, lol. I'm about a year late to this but I hope this helps make sense of this.
Well this is definitely a detailed explanation of the whole situation, much appreciated. Honestly I'm not a fa of the Qashqai and the Morana, so many gear issues on these models. I have driven the Renault koleos, which was a bastard son of Nissan/Renault and it does drive good and for a super cheap price. The engine is a 2.4 liters Nissan engine but the body is Renault. @@Cosmycal 1.3 is less than 140 HP, if you have a family+gear and driving in mountains the car is very weak, also if you wanna tow a trailer/car etc...my friend has one, it is very good for fuel economy,comfortable,great AWD, however it is very weak when compared to my Tiguan, i can have 4 of my friends with me on a mountain trail comfortably, the Qashqai sounds like it is gonna die if he has the AC on while driving up.
Mine is 2012, 1.6dci 4x4 131hp not powerhouse but not weak due to 320Nm torque. Going easily uphill even with 4 passengers. Turning ac on doesnt make any difference to me.

Nissan Qashaqai has a great AWD system but very weak engine, its towing capabilities are horrible.
Weak engine? I consider ~160hp of both 1.7 diesel and 1.3 petrol good enough.

Nope, the 1.3 has a 140HP AND a 160HP variant with 270Nm of torque, also there's a 1.7 diesel with 150HP and 340Nm of torque. Doesn't seem weak to me.
