    Let’s see where to start;! My name is Doug , Ironworker Doug! lol. Ah well, the wife and I have been watching your videos since you started! I have been leather crafting for 20 years now. I make tool holder’s for Ironworkers’s. That stitching pony you use, I took some pictures of it drew, sketched out what I thought looked good, and preceded to trace and cut, traced and cut a bunch of wood pieces, glued them up 🆙 and made one . One of my first wood glue projects ever! The box I mounted it on has drawers on each side, to keep the sowing stuff in um . I can’t believe how cool 😎 it turned out! Thanks

    I have been playing around with leather since I retired 6 years ago. I have watched a lot of videos but never ran across any of yours until today. I love how you flip the leather around and the jigs and straight edges while your cutting. Your expaination of your tools and leather is excellent and easy to follow. Also enjoyed the bits of your personal life you shared with us. You can be sure I'll be watching more.

    I have always been a big fan of leather since my teens. I remember there was a Tandy shop close by where I lived. I would always wander around looking at all the tools, and smelling the leather. I never knew where to start so instead I purchased leather goods.
    My trusty old dry folding knife leather sheath belt loop has a tare. I couldn't find a replacement, it has a unique design, so instead after studying the pattern I have decided to attempt to reconstruct it. I stumbled across your video. I like your style, your craft and your video editing skills.

    • @MasconLeather
      @MasconLeather  3 года назад +13

      Awe !!!! Thanks!!! I’m assuming you’re asking why I punch from inside to out ? The “in” side of stitching looks SLIGHTLY better to me. Most won’t notice from one side to the other. But…. I know most will be looking at the inside of tie wallets 90% more often than the outside (after the first month of use). So, slight prettier inside. Where you see more

    As many have and continue to say, thank you for what you do. The videos have gone way beyond helping me get better and understand more.
    As for the dogs. Man, if folks aren’t dog people it really is hard to understand. I’m in a career where I see humans in all forms of disasters and it was the sudden loss of both my Labs, Miw at 13 and Rej at 10, within three months of each other that stopped my world. To find joy in things again was a relief and delving into leatherwork about 8 months ago was just that for me.

    ncredible your videos Artie, very good vision and scope.
    Could you help me with something?
    I need to buy scalpel blades for handle no. 3 and handle no. 4 and they force me to buy boxes of 100 units, so I want to go for something safe and that works.
    I have sheets number 11.
    Which ones do you recommend according to your experience for scalpel handles nº3 and nº4.
    I already have blade 11, I want to know about other numbers that you have tried and that work well for leather.
    I thank you very much,

    Oww man, you have a perfect coffee lid, use it :)
    Great videos, I'm learning a ton here, thanks for sharing your know-how. The bump jigs opened my eyes, I've been struggling with copying patterns, this helps a lot!
    I see you use a cutter knife rather than a scalpel. I started off with a large cutter, but the blade would move in its bed, and that cost me a whole project. Then I found a tiny aluminum Stanley cutter with a screw to squeeze the blade in place, and I'm loving it.
