      Yes …. This has come up many times (likely the same video).
      It’s ok. Some don’t want to disregard all of their acquired knowledge for something that will help them. Again, it’s ok.
      But once people try it and “see it”, everything clicks and that “ah ha” moment arises.
      Hhmm. This is easier? And faster? Wow.

    My daily carry is a sightly taller (to accomodate half-folded bills) "Dufrane". It's the second wallet i made. The first was the actual "Dufrane". Both made from cheap Chinese veg-tan that i dyed navy and red.

It's great these skills are passed from one generation to the next and you often have families with generations learning the craft. Another great vid (as usual...) Apparently some out there don't get the flow of the bump jigs, but ever since I started using them, all is SO much faster, easier, and much more accurate... Also, did I see correctly in the vid that there is possibly a new smaller square on the way from Mascon/ZeeBee...??? (🤞)

      @MasconLeather  2 года назад +6

      All well said. Some don’t “get it”. And that’s ok. Some don’t “want to” get it. Because it goes against all the learning they’ve accumulated. Again, that’s ok.
      But when those who do it, “get it”, it simply clicks. An “ah ha” moment and it’s like magic. That’s all we want. To help and make it easier to get to the same end goal. Perfection.
      Rulers - good eye. We’ll keep everyone posted as we move closer to release dates. 2 more tools that will make your leather craft seem like magic.

    That Tokonole is a bit pricey, but you’ve purchased it in a good quantity. I keep trying to think of an alternative for the rough sides since it’s rarely seen.

      It’s so worth it. Did you see my video on questions and answers? I show how I’ve tried soooo many alternatives in the last 10 years. Nothing i made or found can compare

    Hola buen día, escribo desde Chile 🇨🇱, siempre es un gusto ver su trabajo y es gratificante como se transforma el cuero y el o los resultados que se pueden realizar. Estoy iniciando el camino en ésta área y se que es bastante largo el recorrido para alcanzar el nivel que posee usted...pero ya estoy en ésto y me motiva el poder aprender de experiencias de otros. Simplemente agradezco su aporte al crecimiento de otros. Un saludo desde la distancia y éxitos en sus proyectos.

    How do you sharpen your tools. You get great beveling but when I strop my bevelers I can't seem to get them sharp enough for the Horween. It's softer than vegtan and getting a good bevel is a pain.

    • @MasconLeather
      @MasconLeather  2 года назад +3

      I’ve never sharpened an edge beveler. I only strop. For years. The Barry kings hold the edge. Put some red or green rouge on the corner edges of some 10+ oz veg tan and pull bevelers backwards on that edge. That’s all I do.

    Beautiful in its simplicity and design. Great video. Just a friendly FYI. "Teddy" Roosevelt was the Roughrider President. You showed Franklin Delano Roosevelt, or FDR. 😁 Cheers and thanks for the Chloe fix.

      Thanks!! And yes, I typed it ALL in the video description. They were 5th cousins. Wallet named after the bear she’s holding. Thus Theodore. Bear named after him. Etc etc.
      I explain it all. 😉
