- How to make a plastic face shield visor at home using common household items; a 2 litre plastic bottle, kitchen sponge, hair band and tape. It takes around 3 minutes to make.
When no face masks are available the cdc are now recommending:
“Use a face shield that covers the entire front (that extends to the chin or below) and sides of the face with no facemask.”
They also recommend that if using a homemade face mask (such as my other video) then this face shield should be used in combination with the diy mask.
As always if you have a commercial respirator, dust mask, or surgical mask continue to use them. This can be combined with those as an extra layer of protection.

@@JKLProjects Yeah, I tried since I have aloe plants in my yard, but you can't find 99% alcohol anywhere now.
You might be able to use surgical spirit which is more commonly available, just check the % alcohol inside and adjust quantities accordingly.

Instead of using by frontline, I think it is really helpful if everyone wear this type of ppe whenever going to street. It is not only prevent from getting the virus, and it helps to prevent spreading. The equipment is just 5 minutes to make and available to every family.
I couldn't sleep all night and started thinking about this as well. Comfortable faceshields would prevent people from touching their own faces in public and (in combination with masks) prevent the transmission by droplet infection. Just imagine the world today if everybody had started wearing faceshields + masks a few months ago

In the Czech Republic, masks have been compulsory since March 18th. The country has only 2 deaths (as at March 24) and the growth of new cases has flattened, whereas in other parts of Europe the pandemic is largely out of control. How has this happened?

@@Acord718 Don't get sick from being embarrassed, hon. Serious. I got weird looks a couple weeks ago for my rubbers gloves and mask. Now, it is no big thing!
The key workers and frontliners are starting to wear these now they’ve been provided by their employers. I think it will soon be commonplace to see people in face visors. 🤞 I hope so anyway as they’re great PPE and reusable and can be disinfected between uses and combined with surgical masks also. Last month I bought the half - face mask and the ski goggles, all of my friend they laughed on me, even my coworkers. Guess what 3 days ago they called me and asking where did you buy it. I told them, you guys cant get it nowhere...too late.

I have felt the same every morning on my way in which is when I have more time to reflect on what’s going on! I have been focusing on conditioning my mind and staying as positive as possible. Surround yourself with the things you know you enjoy, listen to your favourite music, make a conscious effort to take breaks outside wherever possible to get some air, take all sensible reasonable precautions and remember that there will definitely be a time on the other side of this where we can be with our loved ones freely again.

Side edges seem sharp. May hurt. any other alternative?
As said by another user on here put clear tape over the edges and as I said could use electrical tape of your colour choices and will jazz it up a little plus stop it cutting in to your face also turn the sponge over as he’s used the wrong side and left the scouring-pad side up towards your head so it’s going to scratch and irritated our head and could cause rash or raise blood to the surface
That was my concern about the sharp edges.

Simple and clever...but why does he put the scratchy, scouring side of the sponge next to the skin?
The smooth side forms a better seal on the plastic with the double sided tape. The scourer side on these sponges is not very scratchy it’s surprisingly comfy. Hope this helps.

Better to put the green side of the sponge against the plastic screen...it is hurting and scratches your skin like this...
The double sided tape sticks better to the flat sponge. The scourer on this sponge is soft so doesn’t scratch. Many thanks for watching please subscribe for more great videos.

How do you keep it from fogging up?
All face shields fog slightly, as the plastic warms up they fog less. Also the fog is always under eye line so doesn’t cause an issue. Please consider subscribing and sharing to anyone that may benefit!
Coat it with a thin layer of soap / washing up liquid. Rub in until clear

Most people are still allowed to go to the supermarket, they should have these common items for sale in there which is why I came up with this design.
If you have access to normal tape you can use rolled up kitchen towel or a cotton cloth or a bath sponge to form a cushion for your forehead, preferably use something absorbent for the top so it helps reduce fog on the screen. I hope this helps. JKL.
