    I'm impressed! I remember as a child, many years ago, my father showing me how to make a steam boat, similar, but the tank had to be refilled periodically. I also remember playing with it in a tub of water, and it going so fast, when it reached the end of the tub, it crashed, emptying the candle wax, which quickly spread across the top of the water, and was gone in seconds with a big flash. So do be careful near wildlife, if using tea-lights that become filled with molten wax. The big flash, naturally fills a child with excitement, but setting fire to a water birds nest won't be such fun.

      Lol.
      One thing that didn't make sense, is why didn't he have the water-intake tube facing forwards and the water-outake facing the rear. You would effectively triple your power, because you now have two equal forces (sucking and spitting) working for you. This current design would have the sucking work against your direction, and being close to the spitting, would create unneeded turbulence or "drag" in the water.
      And with the Double-Candle/Engine Pop-pop boat... why didn't you have the front engine "suck" from the nose of the boat, with the front water-outake pipe aimed towards the water-intake of the rear engine. This way the front engine can work at max optimal, and the rear one gets an extra "boost" to its performance. Basically a difference of quadrupling your power, in a perfect/theoretical setting, I know in the real-world/practical setting there would be many other inefficiencies or factors that play a big role.... but that's no excuse to engineer something well !!

    • @CookingWithCows
      @CookingWithCows 5 лет назад +62

      You can not decide which tube sucks and which one blows. There are no valves in the tubes so the pressure goes in and out of the tubes equally, and you definitely don't want to blow energy out the front because that would be totally against the point.

    • @BarafuAlbino
      @BarafuAlbino 5 лет назад +12

      @@ekinteko There are no separate tubes. In fact, you can get away with only one tube, if you use precise machining. The idea is that the water level in the tank goes up and down, sucking and expelling water with the same force. But the expelling cycle is better propelling the boat ahead than the sucking cycle stopping it.

    • @fuge74
      @fuge74 3 года назад +4

      @@KingCheepcheep6 I disagree, it would work outside of water it would just be very anemic. there is a heater method used to heat air that kind of does the same thing. generally water boilers want to avoid the mechanism that makes the "pop-pop" boats work because it can cause damage and is a major annoyance.
      a pulse jet uses a constantly expanding gas and intake causing a chemical reaction aka and explosion, a "pop-pop" boiler is a purely thermal reaction and could operate off of a battery and a heating coil. we don't really scale them up because the parts are prone to wear and anything that combines heat and pressure like their is likely to fail, on a boat this means taking on water. but you can think of it as half of a sterling engine.

      If ETF I'd probably put $5k into VAS and $5k into VGS. I'm not sure whether you'd classify current market conditions as safe but if the value of the ETF remains stable the returns (Distributions) should be higher than savings account.
      if Savings account I'd probably open something with UBank (or another bank with similar/higher interest rate) and keep topping it up monthly to meet requirement for the higher interest rates. If you can't add any additional funds on top of the initial $10k then you should consider a term deposit (if you can get a higher rate than a savings account of course) as saving account's interest rates are generally really low without the bonus rate.

    The boiler angle plus your tubes on the boat you bought are 90% on the inside of the boat only 10% outside the boat in the water. on your wooden boat your tubes are 80% in water and 20% out. So they're cooling down faster.

      TBH I've never seen a design like the one in the video, only the coil-based design for the boiler.
      Direct heat to a 3 turn coil copper tube mounted above the heatsource in the well of a boat hull (made from half a drink can, with the bottom pushed out into a bow) is a much simpler design and works far better. We used to make a bunch of them at a time and race them when we were kids because you only needed a pair of tinsnips (or even kitchen scissors in a pinch) as a tool.

    what we don't know, is that the double engine Pop-Pop boat, actually opened up a rift that day on the lake he went to test it on. Pulling him in to the dimension where genius ideas are used for everyday purposes. 3yrs later he's still there, and we're left pondering where he went and why there's no PT. 2.

    I've seen this propulsion system before ... very nice ... and it even sounds like it has a piston engine ... extremely simple a propulsion system without so many moving components that are subject to wear and that are at higher costs small or larger ... I wonder if it could be applied on a larger scale ... remote control boats or even a large boat

      Same, don't post a video about it tho. It will be insta removed and c3ns0r3d for obivous reasons. Power companies don't want this cheap and simple technology. If it was more broadly known, the the big man would tax the living heck out of it as well. So keep quiet.

    Built this with my son & loved it! Have you tried J.B. Weld yet? I use it to build brass olive oil candles. It seals off the threading in the joints. It is heat resistant and even comes in a marine variant, that I, to be honest, have not tested yet, but sounds interesting. Thank you for sharing. Very well produced. Cheers!

    Wow, RUclips recommended this channel like 7 years too late :( After YT popped this beauty up to me, I sadly noticed his part 2 weekend trip with his RC pop pop has been the ultimate cliff hanger for his subscriber for 3 freaking years. I feel gut punched lol, it's like someone took my favorite RomCom, cut out all the redemption scenes after the big break up fight, and pasted the credits back on to turn it into a tragedy.
