I really like this project. Especially how it hugs the bottom of the face area which helps minimize your risks for contracting harmful droplets. Unfortunately, most store bought face shields don't provide that.Thank you and keep those projects coming!

You can also smooth the cut edges by running them across an iron. If you keep the plastic moving, it curls just a bit and it doesn't stick to the iron at all.

@@greenrobot5 Sorry you had a problem. I've done dozens of bottles with no problems. Maybe the temperature was set higher than mine. There are videos here on RUclips (which is where I learned the trick) that might help.

OurHumanPlanet has a similar version of this but she dipped the mask in a detergent + water mix, then dried it, which helps prevent the plastic from fogging from your breath. You should try it!

Thats good can always have 1 clean one ready to go. Should be cleaned well after each use. Polish with shave cream to prevent fogging 👍🏻

Stretch ties substitute... Walmart hair accessories section. Foam substitute 18 x 18 x 2 inch foam cushion cut into strips with VERY FINE TEETH kitchen knife also from your friendly neighbor 😜 WALLY'S craft department . Try Elmer's glue to stick the foam onto the shield.

That's what I initially thought...but you'll need both. You'll still need a mask to filter the incoming air and you'll need the shield to protect your face and the mask from moisture. A mask and a shield complement were the other lacks.

First off thank for saving lives try ordering this stuff weeks waiting.I f i may a few suggestions as i have made several but i keep learning new things.If you add another pieace of weather seak would that be better protection? I read the virus can stay air borne for up to 3 hours.and remain on surfaces for 3 days.Now when removing i akways wipe face side hand santizer and top and inside also try to keep hands away from exsposed areas until you clean at least 70 per cent achool hand santizer as i read.Thank you i learned from you god bless

Brilliant!! But take a good look at the bottle you are using. I bought Coca Cola because I don't like Pepsi. The Coke bottle will not do! I thought the Coke bottle's shape wouldn't be a problem but I didn't notice the vertical ripples that cause visual distortion.

I drink coke bottles and they have some weird shape to them, in Toronto Canada.
I may try to iron them flat :p
Iive been saving most of my red coke lids to eventually grind down and make my own red 3d printing filament wire/spools from it.
