I'm trying to spend less time in the US and as a Haitian American I would love for Haiti to be a place I could live at least on a part time basis. Though I don't want to minimize the reality of the issues there, your videos are helping me see Haiti outside of the lense of gang violence. Keep them coming please! Also can you do a video on the cost of living in Haiti please? I have no idea of how much an apartment, food transpò etc costs or even the exchange rate and what a US dollar can buy. Your channel is a real asset for anyone wanting to travel there. You should be a tour guide. You better get your Airbnb experiences profile poppin 😂
Welcome to okap. I' ve been here for 2 years, and I love it here. My time here is almost up. Glad you are here now. I can watch your vidéos when i miss home. Thank you
I’m happy you guys moved to Okap. I was born there, and I have family still living there. I had a feeling that’s where you guys would moved to and I’m glad, it’s definitely safer.
"THINKING UP A MASTER PLAN " you got me smiling the whole time😊😊I love how you move in silence 😮😮we sure have a lot in common though😊 Thank you for being such an inspiring soul🙏🙏🥰🥰 Congrats🎉🎉 I wish you guys all the best on your new journey!!! Way to go💃💃💃
Your videos are very interesting. I usually go d.r a lot but was curious about checking out cape haitien. Your videos provide a very interesting view of Haiti.
Yes, I even said it recently in my Q&A video even though I knew we were moving lol. I always knew we’d live part time in the North cause that’s where we’re building our first house, but I didn’t really imagine leaving the West all together. I’ll explain more in a video.
Not surprised of your move. Congrats and I think this is a safer environment for you and your hubby. We are hoping to see more video once you settle down. Bravo and very happy for you.
Rutty, I'm catching up on your latest videos because life has been too busy for me, and for us Haitians😩 I think the move is great for you especially for family reasons, I remember you said that your husband's family was from Plaisance. I also felt like you visited Cap so much and it is definitely a city that is on the strong safer side. I pray things improve for the entire country. Fok nou kenbe espwa se pa tout Ayisyen ki ka janm pati. All the best on this new chapter and thank you for providing your audience with those videos! More blessings your way!
@@ruttyb you're welcome Rutty. If you can, could you do videos about market days, beach days in surrounding areas or gardening days if you live in a house. I look forward to more videos:)
Of course! You’ll see that in the next few vlogs. I already vlogged the market. That vlog should be out this week. The next vlog after that is at the beach.
A lot of people have the option to return to their hometown but are stuck to Port-au-Prince like glue. Even people who aren’t really doing much of anything there. People here have debates about that all the time.
I’m happy you moved to my home town. You always said how much you loved it. I know for sure god is going to change Haiti very soon. Port-Au-prince is too crowded for me. I’ll go visit when god change Haiti but, I would not move there.
I told my cousin I know you but I was getting ready to get on the bus. Next time, I should be in Okap more often, just gotta find a husband to move to Okap with 😅.
Congratulations!🎉 I just wish all these people that's from the other part of Haiti would do the same. Because port- au prince is not Haiti. Go help develop your community plant trees so on...
One thing I can tell you if you gonna keep listening to what people here in the U.S are saying about Haiti, then you will never go to visit. I just got back and my mom is over there now visiting and we are from petionville. Stop letting fear control your decisions. I can’t wait to go back hopefully in December
I don’t lol 😅 All of my friends in Port-au-Prince are from my hometown Plaisance. & I’m not really a new friends type of person. I live a quiet life. Not sure if that’s a good thing cause it gets lonely sometimes.
Great job,…This area and the stores are nice….Wow🔥🔥🔥🫶🏾❤️ I am negokap as well!!! Even though I never went back there, Haiti nan kè mwen!’❤️🇭🇹😀🔥🔥🔥 By the way I compose music too, but your husband’s beats are lit!!!👍🏾🔥🔥🔥
You make an effort to show that beautiful part of Haiti and I am a fan of yours for that. And what I want most is that they take care not to go down dark streets.

Watching from Somalia!
Please let's work together to keep Cap-Haitien, the north of Haiti, safe and secure. We can not afford to have another PAP
The thing is that foreign powers need and Haiti without haitians or the lowest number of them and guess where they are moving to in masses???
One of my biggest worry is PAP issue will come to Okap n the rest of the North.
Yeah, it's very worrisome
No worries. They are trying their best to keep the gangs out. If they don’t recognize you, you get questioned on site.

I loved how modern your last place was and would love to see a house tour of your new place once you're settled.
It looks so much like Jamaica bro 😍🥹 I wanna visit

Hi, I hope you have a better stay in Cap Haitien. I was born in this beautiful, scenic, and pictorial city.
It is a good decision in my opinion for your life Dear, keep it up the good work
I am not surprised, because you guys always there for vacations. I am so happy for you guys to move out of PAP. Good luck with your new home.

Thanks hun!! Girl my skin is in shambles. Good days, bad days. I can’t really drop a skincare routine until I have more good skin days than bad lol😅
Im not shocked that you moved to OKAP, you must feel a lot safer
I am just happy you had that option. Not everybody does. It is totally understandable.
A lot of people have the option to return to their hometown but are stuck to Port-au-Prince like glue. Even people who aren’t really doing much of anything there. People here have debates about that all the time.

Cap-Hatien is so much cleaner and calmer than Port-au-Prince. I can see why y'all moved there.
There’s a huge waste problem in Okap. I think the Port-au-Prince area might be cleaner.
Can you show us the nice restaurants in Cap Haitian , like you did in portauprince.
Yes! My next video is a restaurant review.
Samy's beat is 👌🏾
PV is more modern but ocap is the place to be 🌴 my hometown
I'm very happy for you boths❤
Thank you!
Welcome to cap-haitien . I hope you will love it even if it's very different of port au prince. Surely Samy is from okap cause he knows the streets
Thanks! He’s from Plaisance, which is close by.
Very surprised.Good decision
I saw you the day of the diner en blanc at Gwòg. I wanted to say Hi but m te pè😂
Whyyyyy!? I talk to everyone who comes up to me! I love meeting ya! I noticed some people staring, but no one said anything lol.

Hi rutty, i wanted to ask if buying land where you are easier to afford than other places in haiti
I would say it’s more affordable than the Port-au-Prince area but idk about other parts of Haiti cause I don’t know the prices.
Good for you...I just cancelled my latest attempt to come to Haiti this weekend...this is my third try, I'm tired of it...going to try Okap next

Hi Ruth is the temperature hotter in port au prince than au cap ?
We used to live in the mountains so it was very cool up there. But other parts of the Port-au-Prince arrondissement are hot just like Cap-Haitien.

Cap-Hatien seems much nicer and more relaxed than Port-au-Prince or Petionville.

@@ruttybWould you mind at some point making a video about the differences between living in Okap vs PAP?
Definitely! I already have it on my list. I wanted to wait until I spend more time here so that I can give a good comparison.
I think that in that place where they are now, it is not safe to record. And they must take care of their integrities.
I haven’t recorded at home cause I’m still trying to set everything up. But even when I vlog at home, I won’t show my neighborhood.
