I was too tall/long for most of the types I was considering so maybe that will help you narrow it down! Shoulders/head size and height are good measures.
It's a great thing that people are starting to talk about Kibbe body types and seasonal color analysis and what fits them. This way, people see the beauty within them than comparing it to others! Lovely post!
@@charlotteblum7037please don‘t Forget that this is Just a Model-a theory. But Models can Never Show the whole complexity of the real World! Otherwise they WOULDN‘T be models
This is probably the best explanation of the Kibbe body types I’ve seen. Everyone always uses the jargon attached to Kibbe, but never bother to explain what those words mean or how it presents. I’ve binged all your other vids and I’m excited to see more!
Right. The kibbe subreddit is not helpful at all because everyone interprets the descriptions differently. Looking at the same photo, one person will say "the shoulders are blunt" while another person claims "the shoulders are sharp." It should be more objective but it's really very subjective.
Kibbe got my body dysmorphia trippin on a whole new level. I could look like Nicki Minaj or Mary-Kate Olsen, no friggin clue. But I do enjoy your content exponentially, so thank you.
I watched this video last night, discovered I'm a Theatrical Romantic, and for the first time in maybe my life, today I looked at my body with prided and love, rather than the feeling I've always had of "must lose weight." I could see my actually gorgeous curves and love them. It makes me feel like crying. Thank you so much for introducing me to this system.
I would love for you to cover each type from head to toe. Casual looks, work looks, swimsuits, accessories, jewelry, hair, makeup. Get us ready to buy for spring shopping. Also how to adjust if your essence is different than your type. PS the music is a little loud near the middle of this video and it made it a little hard to hear and concentrate on what you were saying.
Can you show several examples of one body type featuring different people with one body type in one video? For example showing 10 real people with just the dramatic one day. And cover a different body type with it's own video. This video was great, but I feel like you flew real fast through the types and each had only few like 3 photos of that body type.
I discovered Kibbe last year and it’s been life changing for me. I’m a dramatic and I have embraced masculine and tailored clothes. It has made dressing so easy
I'm dramatic as well I can't wear blazers cause I have dropped shoulders and poor posture so it looks awful, I hate looking masculine any tips to embrace it?
right? I look best in what would be considered soft natural, but I am 5'8", so soft dramatic fits, but I look like I am in a costume when I wear really glamorous clothes, and I feel like it too.
I was thinking the same thing. I'm not even considered tall at 5"7 where I'm from, but it keeps saying everything above 5"6 is natural or dramatic. 😂 Am so confused.
@@raquel5401 try staying within your category then. if you fit soft natural criteria but you are tall you are a curvy flamboyant natural. Tall curvy women are often misplaced in the soft dramatic category because people forget that flamboyant naturals come in curvy too. Look at Jennifer Lawrence for reference. She has a rounded bust and hips but that is not her dominant trait. Her dominant trait is blunt width throughout her bone structure
I wish you had more examples of what these body types look like on bigger plus size bodies because I've always kind of teetered on the edge and it's hard to see myself in really any of these body types because my I tend to have softer shoulders and softer everything but I'm also on the taller side so the romantic body type looks the most similar to me but I'm like five six pushing seven so I'm like a little confused on exactly where I would land
The key is to reduce the "Kibbe types" to their core principles. Look at your bone structure. Which do you think is dominant: Verticality? Width? Balance? Petiteness? If you were to draw how fabric falls on your body, how would it look? Would it stretch around your shoulders? Drape around the hips? Drape out the bust? Or would it fall straight from your shoulders to your feet?
I'm also kind of confused about the height limits cause I'm average height but I look really short and wide, which kinda goes against the rule that everyone above a certain height will have a long line
Yes I feel like it should be relative. Like dutch people are usually tall. So even though I’m on the tall side, I’d definitely be short there. And like even 50 yrs ago it was different. My Grandma was considered really tall at like 5’4!!
This is the best explanation of this system I’ve seen! I’ve been confused about what type I am and I thought I was some sort of romantic because I am curvy, but I never felt comfortable in the suggestions for that type. I never considered my height in this and I am too tall to even be a romantic. My body type seems to be a soft dramatic and the tips and suggestions for that type are so much more me. Thank you for helping me to finally figure this out!
@@bozieduble8541 That could be the case. What kind of a body do you have? Are you also on the taller side of the spectrum? And do you have any specific types of clothes you know really well with you? The descriptions of a dramatic felt very correct for me. I have always had long/large limbs while still being curvy, but not in the way that romantics are described here. Long lines, like a long jacket, work really well with me as well as long dresses etc. Are you maybe similar?
I wonder whether the height limitations on the Kibbe types need to be updated, because on average, people are taller now than in previous decades. Because of my 5'9" height, most of the categories are automatically ruled out. Yet when I took the test, Dramatic Classic was the closest to my score--except that I'm too tall. I don't feel like many of the A answers describe me (I'm not that thin) or many of the Bs either (I'm not that wide). Maybe I just need a pair of more objective eyes, haha.
I agree completely! You will never convince me that I’m not a soft classic. Ruling out double curve for tall people is insane, because some people have really really short torsos…
@@kiararose2366 same I’m 5’8 which rules out most body types but I’m pretty sure I have a double curve, and I know she doesn’t like the old classification system but I’m an hourglass I look good with my waste accentuated but according to the video my closest type shouldn’t accentuate their waste so I’m just confused
I am such a soft natural! Even after your other video explaining this it never ceases to amaze me I finally know why I can wear off the shoulder drapey things or even just sweatshirts so well. If I wear a structured blazer or jacket I look like an overly strict teacher! It was tough in the working world to not look good in the classic business casual clothes but I have learned how to tweak it and buy ruffle sleeves, doleman sleeves, or drapey blouses.
This was really helpful. I'm still not sure if I'm more a flamboyant or soft natural but narrowing it down to naturals really helps. Thanks for this guide!
Ayyy I feel similarly, I can’t tell if I’m theatrical romantic or soft gamine but at least I’ve narrowed it down after watching this four times, doing a quiz online, and asking a best friend for help hahaha. Trying >:))
I'm having the same problem, because I'm what would be described as a pear shape, but also have long legs and an elongated body, and other awkward body shapes/weight. At one point I thought I might be a soft dramatic, and then another time I did an online quiz and tested as Romantic, except I'm too tall. So I'm a lot more confused as well. I get where I start hating my body for not seeming to fit into any of these categories, which I'm sure is not at all the aim of the channel.
@@bozieduble8541 no I'm sure it's not what she's aiming for, but it makes me start to think it's silly to categorize bodies at all. They come in all shapes and sizes, there's probably lots of people who don't fit into these.
These videos are helpful, but I’m confused when I see celebrities listed incorrectly. Audrey Hepburn was above average height. She was 5’7. She couldn’t be a ballerina because of it. I have seen her listed as gamine in Kibbe other places too, so I wanted to point this out.
Great walk-through!! I would love walk-throughs of verified celebrities and the outfits that suit their ID as well as outfits that don’t and why! Love it when older images appear in the mix because it’s not about trends but personal style (and often celebrities feel a need to be trendy)
This video helped me more, than any test ever did. How you explained soft dramatic just hit home, when I think about what I look best in and feel most comfortable in. Fx I prefer dresses over skirts, how I like big statement jewellery over small delicate ones, why I look great in colour blocking or big prints, but a small floral print just looks of. I'm a soft dramatic ❤️
this video is so great!! i know its from a year ago but i just discovered it + your channel, ive been into kibbe for a couple of years but your videos have cleared up any confusion i had or anything i misunderstood. i used to think i was a soft natural for sure but watching this made me realise im most likely romantic body type :)
Loving this video 😊. I’m pretty sure I’m a soft classic too, but finding youthful and trendy clothes has been a challenge. I’m not enjoying getting dressed, all the clothes feel so plain and boring. Would love if you did a video on edgy soft classic looks!
This is fascinating! I do wish the music wasn't so loud around the "Natural" point of the video. Felt I had to fight to hear your voice over the music.
Brilliant video. My only small criticism is that the music becomes too loud after a while and i found it difficult to hear your lovely voice. Your editing is normally spot on so no doubt it's just one of those things but thought i should just give some feedback 🥰
I'm 5'8 but a soft classic. No one ever believes i'm 5'8 because I look shorter. In my experience the Kibbe height categories are too rigid. I am a quintessential soft classic otherwise.
Yes! I'm 5'11, but I don't look tall. Most people don't realize how tall I am until I'm standing right next them. I feel like Kibbe needs to pick either vertical line or hight, but using both ends up contradicting. I think I'm more of a soft classic myself
This was so helpful! I’ve been talking about the Kibbe system with my sister (we think she is a soft classic) and I’m going to send her this video for more info 🥰
Just found out your channel! I’m loving it. I think it would be very helpful to categorize myself if we could get “normal people” and not celebrities because I feel like I dont look like any of those 😭. Maybe a subreditt where we can upload our picture for you to use? 🤔
It makes so much sense. I’m a Dramatic leaning to Soft Dramatic possible dramatic Classic and 5’5. I’m average sized but I feel like I look tall and am considered tall. Maybe because I’m a lot taller than my friends and family haha. It really makes sense about being built tall without the height haha
Isn't Beyonce a Kibbe certified Romantic but shes 5'7? I'm confused about that. P.S. for those who think she's lying about her height she's not because Kelly Rowland and Michelle are both 5'8 and 5'9 respectively and we can see that Bey is only a little shorter than them; pictures with other celebrities also illustrate that she is that height.
Kibbe believes she is lying about her height for whatever reason and has therefore classified her as R. Celebrities have lots of tricks to make themselves look taller etc. If she is 5"7 then she would be Soft Dramatic :)
@@elliejeanroyden I definitely agree with the Soft Dramatic analysis. Also, as a tall woman, I dont see why female celebs that aren't auditioning to be models would care to be taller than their actual heights. Always found it quite strange that people think they lie about such a thing or that they do lie if thats the actual case
I actually feel like Beyonce is the perfect example of what it means to be tall versus look tall. Just because she's 5'7 doesn't mean that her proportions reflect that height.
@@dahliaherrod4301 Kibbe uses height, Romantics can't be taller than 5'5 according to him. This isn't a case where the styling system stated that vertical is whats to be used as opposed to actual height so my opinion doesn't change.
He also has 5'8 Rihanna as a TR. They're both SD in my opinion. If you ever seen Beyoncé when she first tried vegan diets and got super thin her structure looked dramatic.
Oh lord thank you for this video. I've tried taking the Kibbe test twice. In the first round I was placed as a soft classic, but I'm 5'7" almost (halfway between 5'6" & 5'"7), so that placed me in the dramatic classic and that didn't look right at all based off of the images and description given. The second time through my answers were skewed with C5, B4, D3, E3 and I couldn't place myself at all. Your explanation along with the examples you provided (alongside another outside viewpoint from a friend) I've been placed as a dramatic classic for certain. I think prior it was just really hard for me to place myself based off of the description that the person had. Thank you so much!
Great video, I'm learning so much from you!! I don't know if it's just me, but I find it's much harder to hear you when the music kicks in around 7:00.
Going into this I already knew I was soft dramatic but you really sold it when you said our heads looked small 😭😭 I’ve always felt this way and try to compensate by having big hair 😂
Thank you so much for this explanation. When I took the test, it said theatrical romantic. Then I thought since I was tall, it was soft dramatic. Now, I'm convinced I'm Dramatic Classic. It's spot on.
I have a pixie kind of look. I’ve always looked better with medium to short hair. I’m 5’2 and 90lbs-115lbs (due to ED it varies), but no matter how thin I am I don’t really look under weight. I’m kinda naturally big boned while also very petite. I feel like I’m fairly sharp, my shoulders seem a little wide and when I’m at a healthy weight I’m a curvy petite (like 35-26-35). My limbs are pretty small. My torso and legs both seem pretty short with how I’m built. Even when I am health my hips are very bony and you can always see at least some of my rib cage on my chest. So I’m guessing I’m probably a gamine or a flamboyant gamine. I can’t go off of how I see myself because body dysmorphia is legit, but going off of how others refer to how I look I guess I’m a gamine but I’m not sure
wow, you are such a style nerd, I love that! Thank you for sharing! I suddently feel less ugly in my body! I picked the wrong stuff and thought I'm uglier than those woman who can wear that. But I'm just different and need to wear different stuff.
ive always struggled figuring out what my body type was- i am a typical 90-60-90 (cm) but i never really felt like i fit the romantic grouping because my shoulders and waist had a sharper, less rounded outline. when i saw the theatrical romantic part explained like this it just clicked! thats exactly why it didnt fit!
This is so hard to figure out my type, because I’m ethnically Chinese, we are in general shorter. Like in America 5ft is automatically petite, but in China that is the average height. It just makes everything really confusing because I I think I have a longer vertical line but on tests it doesn’t matter bc I’m so short. Also don’t even get me started on the face part of the questions 😭
IGNORE THE HEIGHT LIMIT. Trust me, all it ever does is confuse people and throw the "final score" off, and it's not nearly as important as things like bone structure anyway. If you absolutely MUST analyse your height, go off the proportions of your head compared to the rest of your body instead.
I hear you 😂 I placed myself as Dramatic Classic after taking the quiz. ALL wrong hahaha. A professional typing cleared things up. Romantic. Couldn’t see the petiteness/delicateness as I always think myself to be heavier than I am 🙈
This system seems to exclude a particular group of body shapes.. depending on context I can fit both very yin and yang features, but I am certainly not a gamine. I can fit in between 2 and 5 different archetypes, which is hella confusing lol
On future videos could you try to show more pictures of people of color just so its easier to envision these styles? Also could you talk more about what trends and cuts suit each body type? Thank you!
this helped me to understand the categories more and I think I can categorise myself as a flamboyant natural after watching this, but I wish you had used more mid and plus size examples to make things clearer for everyone and not just slim/athletic/thin people
Yeah, I still have no idea which body type I have. Everything is so vague. How do you know if you are sharp or round or look good in one kind of clothes vs another. Isnt that more subjective?
Hey! Found you via a tiktok about dressing for ethereal essence.... Those clothes speak to my soul! Where does the ethereal come in this landscape of body types? Thank you! Looking forward to more videos from you!
Ethereal essence is part of Kitchener’s system. Originated sequentially prior to Kibbe’s system but Kibbe chose to omit the Ethereal and Ingenue from his system, leaving some of us stranded. I’m very dominantly an Ethereal. According to Kibbe, it doesn’t have a place in his system. He considers height to be a yang feature, and so someone long and sinewy yet all yin makes no sense to him. All yin would be short and delicate, not a long visual line and delicate. The major differences would be that an Ethereal is delicate in bone structure and overall soft in appearance, like a Romantic… with curves (unlike the straighter silhouette of Dramatics)… with height or long visual line. In this way, some perceive it as the midway point between Romantics and Dramatics. They have a delicateness and softness uncharacteristic of Dramatics, and a long line uncharacteristic of Romantics. They don’t really fit anywhere at all in Kibbe’s system. Which is why I was so lost with Kibbe. The difference in style advice is also palpable. Romantics suit waist emphasis, short lines (like midi-length skirts and dresses, 3/4 sleeves, cropped pants etc)… mid-sized rounded prints like florals, and light to mid-tone colours in light-weight fabrics. Ethereals are considered even more yin according to Kitchener, falling at the extreme yin end of his spectrum. Fabrics that are so lightweight they would fly away in the wind. Colours so light they have almost no contrast with your natural skin tone (meaning if dark-skinned, go by low contrast with your skin colour). Oversized, abstract prints rather than solid florals, yet still soft-edged rather than sharp or geometric. And NO waist emphasis. This is the thing that had me baffled. It’s the biggest style recommendation for Romantics and it was ALL WRONG for me lol. A skirt waistband or a demarcation with a belt, or even colour blocking works for Romantics and does NOT work for Ethereals. They need LONG visual line… like ankle length (not midi or cropped)… and monochromatic, low contrast, super pale colour schemes. One piece from head to toe works best, like a flowing dress. To elongate one part of the body (upper or lower), a dropped waist or an empire waist is best, not the natural waistline. Something that tapers at the waist rather than hangs (which reads more Natural), but doesn’t demarcate at the waist. Overall lighter fabric weight, lighter colours, more delicate florals and laces, ombré effects, more abstract prints and longer line everything (including accessories, hair, jewellery etc). Hope this helps!!! 💝😇😘
Can you talk about this in terms of plus sizes? I find it hard still to identify with one of these, but I find this very interesting so I would really like to find a way to incorporate some of these elements
@@oliviasepelak3083 exactly. I think I'd fit most closely into the romantic but like... I'm 5'7. I think there is a whole lot of body types missing from this system and it's not nuanced enough to fully encompass every variation of bone structure and fat placement....
@@marissahartshorn7049 I feel exactly the same way - although i respect the intentions behind these kind of videos I’m majorly distrustful of trying to “categorise” your body from a limited series of categories made my some random person, regardless of how much they claim to understand “body types” - especially when everyone’s bodies are so so different! Style tips are well and good but when they start implicating that your body has to look a certain way for you to confidently wear certain things I think it’s worth trying to maintain some separation from this mentality (especially as someone who’s struggled with understanding my body for most of my life)
The music! Halfway through she was talking so fast and the music got louder. Couldn't make out what she was saying when she finally got to what I think is my type.😢
Omg!!! Best channel on kibbe ever I went to Reddit and they said I am petit so I must be soft gamine! But the usual gamine recommended lines do not look good on me at all!!!!! My own outfits look somewhat gamine but like a mix of SG, classic and natural and then they look good on me!
Hey! Would u ever do a shopping video? Like go in a store and pick out clothes that fit the different body types? I’m a visual person so it’d be really cool to see examples of how to shop
If you haven’t already, could you do one comparing eg soft dramatics vs theatrical romantics? since you mentioned undercurrents a lot, I wonder what the difference would be directly compared!
Going in I thought I’d be a romantic type, but I definitely have more angular shoulder as well as prominent hip and collar bones, so maybe a gamine type? I’ll have to look more into it because this is fascinating. Great video!
I genuinely feel like I see my body differently every day so I’m still having trouble with this 😅 I’m 5’4”, I definitely have boobs and a butt but I feel like I also carry some weight in my waist area that makes me seem less curvy, in my opinion. I guess maybe soft natural?
You're the 1st person I've heard say that dramatics can be short too. I'm 5'2" but I look 6' in pictures. It's been very confusing to find my type because I don't seem to match the types that are in my height range (according to others RUclipsrs)
Weirdly can’t decide wether I’m dramatic or flamboyant natural😂 I’ve watched this and other videos many times and I keep going back and forth between the two!
i think my body is a combination of soft dramatic and classic. my face is much softer looking compared to my body, people always think im shorter than i am when im sitting down because i have a small face and my torso is short. they are often suprised that i have long limbs and 5'7. i can wear something that shows my figure but it cannot be something too feminine. Anything with floral patterns, laces or peter pan collar looks very unflattering on me. I can never seem to pull it off no matter what i try.
ive never worn anything w a peter pan collar before until very recently. I asked my aunt if i could borrow a shirt for my job interview and she gave me a button up shirt with a peter pan collar. boy i was shocked when i looked in the mirror, it was so awkward and unflattering on me. I find that "softer" looking clothes don't work out for my body type.
The lady in the pic at 2:33 doesn't seem to have a vertical line nor narrow shoulders and doesn't look tall to me. Can someone help me to understand why'd she be a dramatic? :(
I always struggled with accepting my body. I'm a teenager and I'm a SD, I'm very tall and I have lots (LIKE LOTSS) of courves in my body. I always struggled with it because I never looked good in other teenager's outfits, and when I was trying to enhance my courves I immediately looked "vulgar". Yesterday I found out that I'm a Soft Dramatic, and I looked at the mirror and said "this isn't an ugly or wrong body, this is a Soft Dramatic body type!" I'm learning to dress it well now, how to enhance my body feeling safe and modest. Thank you for all of your videos, I love them all❤
I always struggle to distinguish between soft natural and romantic. I’m 5.2 and I have curves in my hips, short and curvy legs, short arms and I am not so sure about my shoulders - they are wide, but I cannot understand whether they are angular and sharp or soft and rounded.
since all of the other types basically have heigh limits does that mean at 5'9" i would automatically be a dramatic? i feel like i identified more with the classic/slightly natural in the kitchner so its interesting to see the difference with this one. i dont have a lot of angularity in my face but my body is definitely "sinewy" with long limbs, and even when i am at my fittest i dont look athletic at all. but i dont have the curves to fit soft dramatic. is it common to identify with a totally different category in kitchner vs kibbe?
i have always heard that above 5'10 you are either dramatic or soft dramatic. At that height, your vertical line is just the most dominant feature no matter what. this is very true for me (6 feet tall), I could tell instantly I was a soft dramatic and there's no feature I get commented on remotely as much as "tall". but I don't know what that means for people who are on the border at 5'9-5'10. you should go with what makes the most sense to you, you know yourself best :)
I am wondering the same thing, I am 5 10 with an hourglass shape and I’ve been told I wear my height well (as in proportions) I’m not convinced I’m a soft dramatic-because it’s all a little confusing!
@@cb9299 i have the fleshier curves that seem more aligned to SD than D and have always gotten the "hourglass" type comments. I tend to look best in longer lines and things that might be oversized, drapey and heavier fabrics - basically like she says, things that would often look overwhelming on other people seem to be less so on me
I saw so many overlapping bodytypes in those photos that I am completely confused now. If weight doesn't play a role...what do you do with a big tummy?
I WANT to be dramatic/soft dramatic. I love dramatic looks/style. But I'm a romantic maybe a theatrical romantic. I'm petite and round featured with delicate bones. Learning about this has helped me start moving to clothes that actually look better on my body.
So, I am confused (only a little bit) about the height part of this: as a 6'3" woman, which body types are left for me to fit into? Am I automatically a dramatic, or are there other body types that can be this tall?
I’m just ignoring the height thing. It’s too limiting. I’m 5’11” but proportionately I’m a romantic. Soft dramatic just doesn’t fit my proportions. Not my fault the world is too short. Put me in with the taller populations and I don’t Look tall anymore. I never look Tall, I just look huge. Next to skinny tall people, I look plump and juicy lol
@@PrinceDuCiel7 I see. In my case it's not so much clashing like that, more that I have not enough realistic perspective on what I actually look like so I'm not sure if I'm a skinny dramatic or a wide natural, let alone which subtype out of those, or if I'm a dramatic body type with natural essence even. (Essence, even harder to pinpoint in myself. The more I try the less I have an idea what the hell I even look like 🙃)
according to Kibbe the only types us tall women can be are Dramatic, Soft Dramatic, or Flamboyant Natural-- that is, unless he doesn't KNOW your height lol. He typed Audrey Hepburn who was at least 5'7", as a Gamine type, which he said can only go up to 5'5". He typed Rihanna as a Theatrical Romantic, even though she is 5'8". Part of the issue for me is recognizing that different ethnicities can have common traits that Kibbe with his Western and Eurocentric lens, didn't consider. For example, many Black women have full lips and fuller figures, and many African American women are average height and above. If large hips and behinds are a romantic trait but height is a dramatic trait, are most Black American Women Soft Dramatics? I don't think so. I think it's important to take into account proportions and relative height. I have a huge head which makes me look disproportionately shorter sometimes, and I am very blunt and not sharp at all. So I know I am not a Dramatic, I think I am more of a softer natural. ALSO check out Kitchener's Essences, see if that helps y'all. Sorry for the essay lol.
@@oliviamurphy9482 Kitchener helped but also confused me more (am I dramatic but with natural essence?) But I think now that I'm flamboyant natural lol.
Thanks so much for your channel. Your work and the way you describe kibbe is much easier to understand. I know kibbe since 2019. Could you make a video about wedding dresses or wedding outfits for kibbe types?
Wonder video, I was very much interested to hear and learn more about my body and style. However it was to much info all at once to process. If possible could you do more vids, that explains body types/styles in different segments. Please
I have had my essences done by John Kitchner and I’m the “Ethereal” with a touch of the others. I have a soft body with curves , soft features in my face but im almost 5’ 11’ so im confused on what body type I would fit in according to the kobe body types. I don’t see one that would match a tall ethereal?
Great video! The problem is I don’t think I’m a good judge of myself in this regard, and also idk if my impression of what “angular/sharp/moderate/round” is the appropriate one. Kind of feel like I have no type or I’m EVERY type. Not all of course, I’m deffo not a gamine nor a dramatic, but yeah…
It’s not really a case of “can”, you can dress however you like. But vertical is always dominant for anyone over 5”7 which means they are always going to look best in long lines!
My body dysmorphia won’t allow me to decide which body type I am lol
I was too tall/long for most of the types I was considering so maybe that will help you narrow it down! Shoulders/head size and height are good measures.

When you start the music and are explaining Natural tupe, your voice drowned out😮
"Soft naturals are never above 5'6..", tell me Kibbe's never been to Scandinavia, without telling me Kibbe's never been to Scandinavia.
hahahahaha
Exactly
Im 5.7-5.8 and in no Way do I fit into the dramatic type
Same, I watched this whole video and am more confused now than when it started lol
I'm also kind of confused about the height limits cause I'm average height but I look really short and wide, which kinda goes against the rule that everyone above a certain height will have a long line
@@VanK782 What's your height?
I've watched this video a dozen times and I'm still confused. By the sounds of it though, I'm having the same issues you had?
@@bozieduble8541 That could be the case. What kind of a body do you have? Are you also on the taller side of the spectrum? And do you have any specific types of clothes you know really well with you?
The descriptions of a dramatic felt very correct for me. I have always had long/large limbs while still being curvy, but not in the way that romantics are described here. Long lines, like a long jacket, work really well with me as well as long dresses etc. Are you maybe similar?
same here!!
Yeah, I'm 5'11 and I suspect Kibbe barely considers me a woman at all.
Same, like, ok, I know I'm not a gamine, but theres almost nothing yang about my frame, even tho I'm 5'9"
Yes, gamines are not supposed to be above 5'5 (hope I wrote that correctly) but Audrey Hepburn apparently is one at 5'6/170cm
I'm so confused
This was really helpful. I'm still not sure if I'm more a flamboyant or soft natural but narrowing it down to naturals really helps. Thanks for this guide!
Ayyy I feel similarly, I can’t tell if I’m theatrical romantic or soft gamine but at least I’ve narrowed it down after watching this four times, doing a quiz online, and asking a best friend for help hahaha. Trying >:))
@@sophiaredwood5825 I completely understand. Good luck!
@@nix2747 You too! 💞
Samee
I'm more confused than ever. Could you do examples of all these with all plus size figures too?
I'd love that too
People think overweight is automatically romantic bit it’s really not the case
@@bozieduble8541 depending on your shoulders soft dramatic sounds pretty accurate from what you’ve described!
These videos are helpful, but I’m confused when I see celebrities listed incorrectly. Audrey Hepburn was above average height. She was 5’7. She couldn’t be a ballerina because of it. I have seen her listed as gamine in Kibbe other places too, so I wanted to point this out.
It might be about the height she's *perceived* as
@@infinitespiral6758 but then Kibbe always emphasizes that tall women can only be one of three types, lol. Contradictory
Kate Winslet is wrong too. She's 5'6 and has long arms and legs. She wears a size 10 shoe. No way she's a romantic. I personally think FN.
Kibbe verifeid many old Hollywood celebrities based on the characters they played and as style inspo
@@rainnnnnnn This whole thing just seems like bogus, none of it makes any rational sense or has any discernible consistency.
I was confused about my Kibbe body type, but your video is so clear and intelligible that I finally figured that I'm a soft dramatic. Thx
This is great to hear!
Thank you! I’m definitely a romantic. This helps a lot! I’ve been struggling with my style and how I dress and this is so helpful!!!
That’s great to hear I’m so glad it helped you!!
this video is so great!! i know its from a year ago but i just discovered it + your channel, ive been into kibbe for a couple of years but your videos have cleared up any confusion i had or anything i misunderstood. i used to think i was a soft natural for sure but watching this made me realise im most likely romantic body type :)
Loving this video 😊. I’m pretty sure I’m a soft classic too, but finding youthful and trendy clothes has been a challenge. I’m not enjoying getting dressed, all the clothes feel so plain and boring. Would love if you did a video on edgy soft classic looks!
It's very easy to create an edgy effect as a Soft Classic, just 1/2 details will shift the entire feel of the outfit! :)
Agree, I'm 5'8" and absolutely a soft natural who looks shorter.
Thank you that is so great to hear!! I hope she finds it helpful ♥️
Most important video on your Chanel. Very informative and complex at the same time. Unfortunately the music makes it hard to understand.
The music is really throwing this video off for me. It's too loud for how loud you're voice is in the mix.
Girl same 😂
Thank you so much for this explanation.
But I'm just different and need to wear different stuff.
ive always struggled figuring out what my body type was- i am a typical 90-60-90 (cm) but i never really felt like i fit the romantic grouping because my shoulders and waist had a sharper, less rounded outline. when i saw the theatrical romantic part explained like this it just clicked! thats exactly why it didnt fit!
cant wait to style my body with your tips!! I’m already looking flawless in my head 💅💅💅 LUV this!!
Ik in the video you said dramatics can be short but other places have ruled differently. It’s so hard to figure it out on your own 😭
i took a test and it said im a classic, but honestly i still dont know its so confusing...
Thank you so much for this video! I now know that i am a dramatic and i look so much better in clothes. Thank you so so much❤️
Great video, just the music is a bit distracting for me.
im definitely flamboyant natural! oversized draping clothes look so good on me i never knew why and now i do
I can’t really put my finger on what I look like thanks to body dysmorphia.. I’m probably going to watch this video 6 times to figure it out😂😅
I hear you 😂 I placed myself as Dramatic Classic after taking the quiz.
Thank you!

Being overweight makes this frickin impossible man. No clue what i am.
Yeah, I still have no idea which body type I have. Everything is so vague. How do you know if you are sharp or round or look good in one kind of clothes vs another. Isnt that more subjective?
This video was so helpful! Would love a video distinguishing between types that are very similar
This is great to hear!! Thank you I will add that idea to my list ☺️☺️☺️
I feel like I absolutely do not fit into any of these-but I have a pretty warped sense of my own body.

I love the way you did this whole video, well done! I couldnt smash the like button hard enough lol
I'm still confused by what my body type is. I seem to carry extra weight in my belly which is frustrating.
Going in I thought I’d be a romantic type, but I definitely have more angular shoulder as well as prominent hip and collar bones, so maybe a gamine type? I’ll have to look more into it because this is fascinating. Great video!
im still trying to figure out if im either a romantic or theatrical romantic, but this video was so helpful!
Yay I’m so glad this helped you!!
I genuinely feel like I see my body differently every day so I’m still having trouble with this 😅 I’m 5’4”, I definitely have boobs and a butt but I feel like I also carry some weight in my waist area that makes me seem less curvy, in my opinion. I guess maybe soft natural?
This is a great explanation, much better than what we usually see.
I still don't know which one I am though hahahah
This is great information, I wish I could watch it...your background music is so loud that it drowns out your voice, making it challenging to follow.
You're the 1st person I've heard say that dramatics can be short too. I'm 5'2" but I look 6' in pictures. It's been very confusing to find my type because I don't seem to match the types that are in my height range (according to others RUclipsrs)
Weirdly can’t decide wether I’m dramatic or flamboyant natural😂
I’ve watched this and other videos many times and I keep going back and forth between the two!
i think my body is a combination of soft dramatic and classic. my face is much softer looking compared to my body, people always think im shorter than i am when im sitting down because i have a small face and my torso is short. they are often suprised that i have long limbs and 5'7. i can wear something that shows my figure but it cannot be something too feminine.
Can't hear the words thru the music :(
As a 5'10 woman who looks tall but has curve emphasis, I'm going to guess that means I'm a "soft dramatic".
The lady in the pic at 2:33 doesn't seem to have a vertical line nor narrow shoulders and doesn't look tall to me. Can someone help me to understand why'd she be a dramatic? :(
Yes,she doesn't look like a D to me too! I think she is a natural
Half of them exclude women over 5'7, which makes it very hard to figure out what my type is, if I don't relate to the ones without height limit
Yesterday I found out that I'm a Soft Dramatic, and I looked at the mirror and said "this isn't an ugly or wrong body, this is a Soft Dramatic body type!"
I'm learning to dress it well now, how to enhance my body feeling safe and modest.
Thank you for all of your videos, I love them all❤
Could you make a video about the ways the different types gain muscle... I mean from slightly athletic to shredded?
Flamboyant Gamine here, for sure! Luckily I love that style 💕
Please no music, can't hardly hear your voice. Great content by the way!
I always struggle to distinguish between soft natural and romantic. I’m 5.2 and I have curves in my hips, short and curvy legs, short arms and I am not so sure about my shoulders - they are wide, but I cannot understand whether they are angular and sharp or soft and rounded.
Love the number of types but thoroughly confused where I fit in 😄
I can't decide if I'm a soft natural or pure romantic. Can you please explain the differences between these two types in detail?
since all of the other types basically have heigh limits does that mean at 5'9" i would automatically be a dramatic? i feel like i identified more with the classic/slightly natural in the kitchner so its interesting to see the difference with this one. i dont have a lot of angularity in my face but my body is definitely "sinewy" with long limbs, and even when i am at my fittest i dont look athletic at all. but i dont have the curves to fit soft dramatic. is it common to identify with a totally different category in kitchner vs kibbe?
i have always heard that above 5'10 you are either dramatic or soft dramatic.
@@kwf92 thank you!! just curious, what was it about yourself that made you realize you are a soft dramatic instead of just dramatic?
I am wondering the same thing, I am 5 10 with an hourglass shape and I’ve been told I wear my height well (as in proportions) I’m not convinced I’m a soft dramatic-because it’s all a little confusing!
@@cb9299 i have the fleshier curves that seem more aligned to SD than D and have always gotten the "hourglass" type comments. @@kwf92 interesting thank you!

Yes absolutely!!! ♥️♥️♥️
@@oliviamurphy9482 Kitchener helped but also confused me more (am I dramatic but with natural essence?) But I think now that I'm flamboyant natural lol.
omg! i think i may have figured out im a soft dramatic! so cool!
I'm mostly identify as Apple body type and this is so hard to grasp 😭😭 how do I know what I am?
Thanks for this. I think I'm a flamboyant Gamine.
Which one is the short torso hourglass with long legs and arms ...(.also hourglass as usual is a no no according to everyone but Valentino)
Please
Plus add more full figured women's styles, because to be honest I can't see myself as your title ask...
Watching this gives me so much more clarity as to why sharp lines rarely look good. I think I’m a romantic!! Ah!!
I have had my essences done by John Kitchner and I’m the “Ethereal” with a touch of the others. I have a soft body with curves , soft features in my face but im almost 5’ 11’ so im confused on what body type I would fit in according to the kobe body types. I don’t see one that would match a tall ethereal?
omg I'm so glad i found ur channel imma binge watch this all❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Amei o vídeo e como você articula bem as palavras, entendi tudinho. Muito obrigada pelo conteúdo incrível, com muita pesquisa e exemplos ❤️🇧🇷
So tall women only have a few types and short women can be any type?
It’s not really a case of “can”, you can dress however you like. But vertical is always dominant for anyone over 5”7 which means they are always going to look best in long lines!
