Nice touch there, Dad! If Robbie can do it by himself, most adults should be able to do it too. Robbie can probably fit in the sub-trunk if you close the door. Might suffocate a bit. lol

Here is one reason why the TuxMats could be a better option. The build quality and no need to remove them for cleaning based on design. The mats cover just about all of the carpet and a damp rag would clean them up nicely. They also come with a lifetime warranty. This could a plus if you keep your car for a long period. The 3D mats are just too expensive for what you get, as the build quality is in line with Weather Tech Mats. The mats you chose are of good quality but like you mentioned the thickness is an area of opportunity.
You bring up a good point as to longevity as Teslas have been on the road for a decade and with batteries still charging at 90% and an aluminium body they can be on the road for longer than most cars.
I would advise getting a kick plate for the footwell mainly for where the accelerator pedal is that side carpet gets tore up in teslas

I found Tesmanian to have chemical smell even though they advertise odor free. Customer support was also dismal without an east option to return.
There was a slight smell but the new car smell to me was about the same. Some people are very sensitive to smells and so difficult to compare. Thanks for your input.

Wondering why nobody ever includes the full set from Abstract Ocean I got the full set and added the backing for the 2nd row of seats for under $300 and I really love these mats. I haven't tested how they will clean up or hold up to water, but IMO, they look as nice as the maxpiders and cost way less.
I suppose because there’s not many RUclips reviews. I never heard of them.

Why not leave the Tesla carpet mats underneath
All liners have to be directly on the carpet. Having anything under them makes them dangerous. It’s because they are designed exactly to fit. Anything under them causes them to potentially mess with the pedals.
