In this video I visit a street barber in Saigon, Vietnam to get myself the haircut experience that I was looking for a few days ago when I visited the Vietnamese salon. I will also be surprising this Vietnamese man with an amazing tip since he was very honest with me and talked to me a lot about his family. This is by far one of my favorite videos filmed to date and I'm sure you will enjoy it also!

I don't know what your childhood was like, but your mom sure did a great job raising you. I never witnessed a young man with such a kind heart like you. You are right Chris: the money you gave is not much by our standards (you did not suffer much by giving it away), but the effect is enormous for them. Haircut $50,000; tip $950,000; reaction priceless. All tourists should have a positive outlook like you.

he didn't close shop, he was saying the price in the beginning but Chris misunderstood and thought to come back in 50 min ~ therefore the guy was waiting for a while, and then prob closed up to grab some lunch (:

I respect you. When I’ve traveled overseas I see many tourists that don’t bother to even tip at restaurants or tour guides. People don’t understand that any tip is greatly appreciated specially in other parts of the world. Here in the US people expect a tip even when the service is horrible, it’s great to bless someone for the great service that they did and to know they will put it to good use. You found a GENUINE HAPPY MAN. I too have seen people in Hawaii. Tip too small, they sometimes are rude and say "that's all" I say give back then. They walk away. That's why I enjoy THAILAND, no matter the tip. They always Happy to get something. In the Hotel, when they give out water. They weren't expecting anything; but so HAPPY somebody noticed them.

Just to let you guys know, his name is Cường, and he has been my father's friend for a long time. Maybe before I was born, they have a perfect friendship until now their friend is never faded. And I can make sure that his personality is really good, he never asks for more money after a haircut but just like you do, my dad gives him extra money too. I think because my father doesn't have much time to go downtown to see him and when he has time, he just wants to go there and have a relaxed conversation with Mr. Cường. Do a haircut, and talk about each other life and that's all I can share

Found your vids randomly and just subscribed. You're very chilled and have a lot of heart and compassion along with respect for the locals wherever you travel. The world needs more travelers like you to spread the positive good vibes.
I’ve lived in Vietnam for a few years. It’s true there are a lot of hard working and HONEST people living there. They know you make more in the US compare to them but still they still give you a “local price” because they don’t want to cheat guests or anyone. I did lots of charity there too, had the same reaction from people. I could feel I made their day.
While in the U.S. people would yell at you if you don’t tip them well sometimes for a shitty job they’ve done😂

In the North ? You are lucky they don't tear you apart or rip you off. Don't you know an example that South Korea refuses to give people from Thanh Hóa visa because of the high percentage of "bad" people. In the South, it is normal. Honesty is in our gene. Hahaha.
@@cuongvinh2687 on my first day in Hanoi, I handed over 30k and he gave me back 10k as I misheard. A start of things to come. I get no ‘foreigner price’. The young boys in Son La barbers didn’t want paying after they trimmed my beard. Offered drinks, smokes, handshakes all whilst being in the ‘poorest’ provinces. It says a lot. No one is interested in cheating you out of your money here despite the ‘lack of it’. It’s honestly so refreshing 🥰
