- These commercials aired on local Fox affiliate KTVU on February 19th, 1990.
1. Tetris
2. Marine World Africa USA (I remember having a pennant from this park on the wall in my room for years)
3. "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers" commercial bumper
4. Honey Nut Cheerios
5. Sequoia Institute
6. It Takes 2 PSA
7. Promo for "Ducktales"
8. "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers" commercial bumpers
9. Oatmeal Swirlers (Those red swirly rave glasses freak me out)
10. Sequoia Institute
11. "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers" commercial bumpers
12. Froot Loops (I want to live in a world where children can be entertained by holograms on cereal boxes!)
13. Handi-Snacks Sega Genesis Sweepstakes (The Genesis system, TV and 30 games?!? That's a sweet contest!)
14. McDonald's (God, the Berenstain Bears were so lame...)
15. Record Breakers (And of course, this commercial has the obligatory "I WIN!!!")
16. Cinnamon Toast Crunch (Still one of the tastiest cereals)
17. It Takes 2 PSA (With John Denver and Kermit The Frog! OMG!!!)
18. Promo for "Silver Spoons"
19. "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers" commercial bumper
20. McDonald's (I definitely remember having a few of the Mixed-Up Monsters)
21. Alpha Bits (With Joseph Mazzello from Jurassic Park)
If you're referring to the PSA with Kermit, that was John Denver, as noted in the description. Bob Denver is the guy who played TV's Gilligan.
I don't mean to be rude, but will you please stop questioning me? You don't know what you're talking about. It was very easy to date the contents of this tape by the TV spots that appear in Vol. 22.
I still have my Berenstain Bears book I got from my McDonalds happy meal
5:03--I was a high school senior in February 1990 and had outgrown that type of thing, but I loved the Berenstain Bears in the 1970's when I was a kid! My favorites were "The Bears' Picnic," "The Bike Lesson," and "The Bears' Honey Hunt."
I didn't really think about it as a kid, but in retrospect, the 90s were such an awesome time to grow up. Thanks for the shot of nostalgia :)
i remember the oatmeal swirl i remember tetris i remember all this commercials thank u!
It was definitely more of a zoo. A lot of animal shows and exhibits. I actually haven't been to it since it got bought out by Six Flags.
Thanks for the memories.
I have Tetris! I also remember the McDonald's/Berenstain Bears and McDonald's Mix-'em-Up Monsters commercials from different breaks during "Pee-wee's Playhouse".
I have vivid memories of those Oatmeal Swirlers. Apparently kids will eat anything, because those things were NOT good.
I never taste it remember seeing it tho
I don't want to cut footloose with animals.
KTVU!!! KOFY!!! KBHK TV 44!!!! GOD I MISS MY CHILDHOOD
Cinnamon toast crunch doesn't taste the same anymore. :{
They taste pretty good to me. What's different about them now?
RyanSellman1 Ever since they changed from being whatever they were before to wholegrain. They taste different, so does Hawaiian punch, and all that other childhood goodness.
Flavours change over generations, so does recipes.
yes it does
ok handi snacks where is my Sega genesis haha
I miss the old KTVU 2 and Disney Afternoon!
I was just wondering the other day wtf ever happened to Alpha Bits
I see them in Target
Oh god the Tetris commercial. TETRIZOID. I'm going to classify all polygons as a Tetrizoid from here on out.
Ugh, I had one of those people who asked constant questions about my commercials too. I blocked him.
Omg I swear the record breakers kids are going through puberty. And the Cinnamon Toast girls smile is going to haunt forever!!!!
Yeah I live in Sacramento and loved to go as well. The old name was cool.
I remember when McDonald's kids meal toys were actually worth getting. One of the first birthdays I remember, I think I was 5, was at the really cool McDonalds where the playplace was actually an arcade and all the McDonald characters came. I was totally afraid of Ronald due to an unfortunate run in with a clown at Christmas a few months prior.
@Johnlindsey289 Did they actually show the pilot on the Disney Channel? I know a lot of the Disney Afternoon shows premiered on the Disney Channel, but they never showed the pilots to those on Dis, they just went straight to the episodes. I don't know about Rescue Rangers though. That was the brief period we didn't have Disney Channel at my house.
Yeah, DuckTales and A Goofy Movie were both AWESOME.
Ha, Silver Spoons. Man, I loved that and Different Strokes when I was really little.
Wow, I always thought they were saying "Alphabets" instead of "Alpha Bits."
hoooollly shit thats the kid from people under the stairs in the oatmeal one
@Nomadx530 I feel your pain, brother! Even if you never got enough swirl to really draw anything, that stuff was great.
What happened to the obligory I Win? They never seem to did that anymore.
looks like the world was much peaceful in the 90's
Used to live in Benicia, had season passes to Marine World, used to love the water show.
That particular Alpha-Bits jingle captured the essence of groove in a way not heard on the airwaves since Deep Purple was big. A-B-C Delicious!
I used to have a Ducktales lunchbox when I was in Kindergarden
Wow. I lived in California during the early 90's and my school took us to Marine World. It was amazing that they put a dinosaur tour in when Jurassic Park came out. What ever happened to that place?
I remember those McDonald's commercials from breaks during "Pee-wee's Playhouse".
omg do you have those commercials for the cereal box records? Ya use to get a record on the back of cereal boxes XD anyone have those commercials :O
I had the set of 3 "Spooky Stories" cereal box records that came with (I think) Alpha-Bits cereal in the late 1970's. I loved them when I was a youngster!
Alphabits were amazing and no other cereal compares
And also the Alpha-Bits commercial, too!
That ostrich should've taken lessons from Lebron James instead of Toucan Sam!
did anybody catch the planters cheese balls in the silver spoon commercial!? it's a crime against humanity that they don't make those anymore. 😳😳😳
Yeah, it sure looks like it! Btw, Papa Bear sounds like John Goodman.
that transformer that Grimmace had sucked so bad!
Just like the Martinsville (St Louis) Clutch grand russian builders like the Great Daddabbo.
Beriieinstein bears ftw!I loved the books when i was little.
Thanks sooooo much. I remember these commercials!!!! I love it.
Does anybody still have that "Handi-Snacks" t-shirt?
that alphabet cereal was my most fav ever
and the last ones the boy from jerassic park
I forgot about Oatmeal Swirlers, I loved them.
I always wonder if anyone ever won those sweepstakes, seems like growing up every cereal, fruit snack or cookie company had a sweepstake
The Federal Trade Commission regulates contests and sweepstakes. If they weren't real, and people couldn't win them, these companies would be fined.
3:01 ah the early 90's, everyone was doing The Egyptian
The oatmeal swirllers looked good
I was born 1990 !
I fuckin' LOVE Tetris
money is really good in most cases lol
It's....MULLETRIS!
I WIN! Classic.
I miss the 90's. One of my favorite vacuum brands, Fantom, was in full swing in the 90's. Dyson dominates now, but back then Fantoms such as the Thunder and Fury were leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.
5:38 Wait a second... What are the other 7 tips?
I remember Oatmeal Swirlers.
really early nineties
:52 smell them??? Wtf?
cinnamunchy crunchy??? lol
I do, it was awesome.
I used to LOVE those Oatmeal Swirlers as a kid.
"these books are totally awesome!" 5:02
When being a car dealer was a career...
I still ate and coveted them, though.
yeah but its annoying when you ask stupid questions that can be easily googled. Also , when you reply to comments someone made four years ago.
Kinda like this?
Anybody rememebr the fox kids club growing up when they would send you magz in the mail...
I remember that Tetris commercial and Alpha-bits like it was yesterday...
