Hey everyone, wishing you all a merry Christmas and happy holidays! I figured what better present to give you all than to talk about Uncharted on the channel? It's been a while... ;) Let me know how you feel about all the recent leaks, and I hope you'll enjoy the video!
The leaks about another studio taking over the Uncharted franchise is the best news I have heard in the past 6 years. If BEND is pursuaded to pick up the mantle then it is tears in my eyes because that studio is so underappreciated and they can take Uncharted in a new direction (my suggestion is to tell the story of another character, totally unrelated to the first 6 games). ND has been on a decline route ever since AH left the company. The technical achievements of the studio has been top class, but the writing has split up the fan base repeatedly. They have been "darkening" the character stories without serving any real purpose, at least that is what I have felt when playing Uncharted4 and TLOU-P2. Even in Uncharted 4 ( a game that managed to evade the upcoming ND Agenda.) the story twists of Drake having a brother, drake living a quiet life (Hahahaha), Drake leaving Helena (or Helena leaving Drake in the hotel to be exact) and later they are reunited, they all felt too me a bit forced. As far as TLOU-P2 is concerned they managed to disinterest a huge volume of fans (myself included) by providing a story that was a masterclass of HOW NOT TO EVOLVE character stories. The level of stupidity reached by beloved characters, like Tommy, Joel, Ellie is unprecended. The icing on the cake was the pregnant lady that got to jump obstacles more times than MC Hammer on Can't Touch This. On a personal note. Keep doing more of these videos. Your critical thinking and presentation is top class. I would suggest that you try and sometimes not think too much about negative comments. Let them who are to be offended be offended. You have been talking about ND in a very constructive manner! Games are nothing without their fan base and the Uncharted series and TLOUS (the original) are far too sacred to be spoiled. Keep doing that on all things gaming and you have a great youtube carreer ahead if you are happy doing that long term. Cheers.
@@willhahn1730 yh but its been over 6 years now, earliest release for a new game is 2024 now id assume. thats 8 years. The people who played the first uncharted back in 2007 could be in their mid 30 already haha. its a long ass time for a main franchise
@@akaSilenced i played the first uncharted at my uncles house, i remember seeing it and it looked cool so i booted it up and was loaded into the game and had no idea what i was doing but knew i wanted more. i was 6 years old and now i’m 21 lol
I said it several times, make it the Adventures of Young Sully and you have a winner here. Sully is a beloved character and he looked the exact right amount of badass and suave in the Uncharted 3 flashback. That's a solid foundation to build upon. Not to mention that there's something about the not so distant past in these Indiana Jones type stores that just appeals to the audience. Metal Gear Solid 3 managed to make an already big name in the franchise that much more awesome by making him the main character. Could work with Sully too.
There are a few issues with that idea that make it risky. Firstly, with the comparison to Metal Gear Solid 3, MGS3 had the advantage that it was going to explore the origins of Big Boss, one of the most important character in the series and one that was always hyped that we knew very little of at the time. In addition it also had a setting that informed both its story and gameplay. The whole point of the Cold War backdrop was to show how the political climate influenced the characters and story. That Soldiers were being seen as disposable scapegoats which is what inspires The Boss and subsequently Big Boss. Plus you had the new jungle gameplay that significantly changed how the game was played compared to its predessors. These aspects aren't as strong for a Sully prequel. There's not as much hype or intrigue around Sully's backstory and what made him who he is now. In addition, standards in video game storytelling has risen a fair bit since Uncharted 3. After games like Uncharted 4, Lost Legacy and TLOU1 and 2, people expect a bit more from their stories rather than being pretty straightforward Indiana Jones type stories. Which is what Uncharted 1-3 already was going for. So a Sully prequel with a classic Indiana Jones flavour risks feeling "antiquated". Another issue is the context of video game development. This isn't the PS2 or even PS3 era anymore where AAA games can be made in 2-3 years quickly. Uncharted 4 and TLOU2 took around 4-6 years in development. So if you're going to give a studio the order to make a Sully Prequel, it's going to take 4-6 years to make and then be the only Uncharted game for at least the next 4-6 years. Even assuming the story is a hit, what about gameplay? Will it be the same basic gameplay Uncharted has had since 1? People already complain when series like Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed or Pokemon reuse the same gameplay formula so Uncharted Sully edition has to be mindful of that. And even assuming that works and Uncharted Sully edition is successful, then what? Do you continue this subseries forward? Wouldn't that incur diminishing returns because of the tone and style of the game? Like to quickly summarize, a Sully prequel is still risky because Sully doesn't have as much mystery or intrigue as Big Boss did, and has a style of gameplay that is much more likely to incur diminishing returns. Which would be compounded by the long development times.
@@FraserSouris I get what you’re trying to say but I guess you got me a bit wrong with my MGS3 example. I didn’t mean to create the impression that both situations are exactly the same in terms of in-universe importance. I was mainly trying to give an example of how going to the past and shift focus to another familiar character can work. The way you evaluated it in the other hand I think doesn’t really work. The reason for that is that the MGS world and the Uncharted stories are completely different. For one MGS is a commentary on various aspects of human society and modern history ranging from fear of nuclear threats during the cold war all the way to information control and dangers of a digital age. Plus whatever the heck that nonsense about Vocal…Cord…Parasites was about. Uncharted on the other hand doesn’t aim for that. It’s a big ass adventure. Another aspect where both stories are different is that MGS tells one overarching story, sometimes to it’s detriment because every new installment has to either continue or expand on the overarching plot. And while this is good for the big story I sometimes wonder if all that Solid Snake does is be involved with missions that somehow have to do with Big Boss and the Patriots. In all honesty, as sick as it was, I really appreciate stuff like Metal Gear Acid because it shows that Snake can go on completely unrelated missions. But I digress. Compared to MGS the stories in Uncharted are stand alone adventure where the connecting tissue is the characters that grow together over time. So to sum those comparisons up, MGS and Uncharted are both completely different worlds both amazing in their own right. But saying that Sully is not as important as Big Boss while focusing on Naked Snakes importance in a series with an overarching plot that is a socio-cultural commentary on our world is just unfair because not only can Sully not live up to that, no one in the Uncharted world can. Because that’s not how this universe works. So I think the characters should be looked upon with their placement in their own universe. And there they are really not that different. While Big Boss was always important in the MGS universe, he wasn’t hyped up as much that people would have longer for a game about him. Sure in 2023 we have a different take on the character and his importance in the series. But back when MGS2 released things were different. After people finished that game they wanted to know what happens next. MGS3 taking place in the past and showing us the origin story of Big Boss took people by surprise. It’s MGS3 that made Big Boss as big of a deal as we think of him right now. But it’s not like there was a huge demand for a game about that are after MGS2. It was only after MGS4 that people would like to see more about Big Boss. And in that way, I don’t think that Sully is that much different. Sure, there’s not much demand for a story about him but just as I said, there wasn’t much of that for Big Boss either. The game and the plot created this demand. And a well written story about young Sully could have the same effect, IF it actually is written well. I think you’re selling Sully a bit under value here. He IS a beloved character in the franchise. Perhaps not as much as Drake but he’s definitely very popular. I would even argue he is more popular amongst the fandom than Big Boss was prior to MGS3. Also I don’t really agree that a classic Indiana Jones story would risk feeling antiquated. The setting for a game respectively it’s plot in itself is not what makes or brakes it. It’s the gameplay and the story. If those two are good that it can work. I don’t even know why we should think otherwise considering that in gaming we have stories taking place in all time periods of human history, and even in unique worlds similar to all different periods of human history and that’s even setting aside science fiction. The setting is not an issue here. Quality is all that matters. As far as the entire AAA and how many years it takes to make a game is concerned, that has nothing that can be tied exclusively to Sully as a main character. It’s pretty much a general concern that any protagonist that isn’t Nathan Drake has to face. So I don’t really see much of an argument why this speaks against young Sully only but not against anyone else.
I mean it's possible but illd rather uncharted 5 with Nate and Sam and sully but they definitely could make a spin off like the so called uncharted 5 we have now (with chole Frazier)
@@Ivotas *>” And a well written story about young Sully could have the same effect, IF it actually is written well. The setting is not an issue here. Bruh, your pitch for future games essentially being the story of the various explorers or historical figureheads that LEAD to each of the mainline games is actually genius. Imagine all the different things they could do as far as gameplay and narrative considering the different time periods and how vague the stories always were as Nate recounted them in the mainline games. So much individual value on top of so many fun and impactful easter egg opportunities while also incorporating Sir Francis Drake's story.
Absolutely man. Those games could still stand on their own and feature a mostly original storyline yet pay tribute to certain events from the main games too. E.g. ending the game about Sir Francis Drake by having you revisit the mutant island and showing his death, Marco Polo crashing his fleet into Borneo, Henry Avery's descent into madness, etc.
I'm skeptical on the possibility of success there. For one, we lose the core cast of characters. No Nate, Elena, Sully etc. We have to rely entirely on these fictional versions of these figureheads that were rarely the actual focus of the stories they were in. As a result, you wouldn't appeal to casual fans but only diehard Uncharted lore buffs which isn't wise. Something like Assassin's Creed can get away with such a concept because the "star" of the franchise isn't the protagonist but the world and concept of being a historical Assassin. One of its major selling points from day 1 is "come play historical recreations of all these settings". Uncharted's selling point is more tied to its core cast of characters than "the world itself". Secondly, the gameplay would also need to be drastically altered. Like, one of the iconic things about Uncharted games is the set pieces and combat the player can engagein. But in the 16th century, you don't exactly have the means for an Uncharted 2 style train level. Even if you can make a fun gameplay loop out of these different settings, you still risk alientating Uncharted fans. Like, imagine if you've been waiting nearly 10 years for a new Uncharted game and it's this sailing and forest survival game with Sir Francis Drake. It's a tough sell.
I would love to see Charlie Cutter make his return to the series. He is like Nathan Drake when it comes to history. Just look at him when they are in Syria in the 3rd game. He is genuelly funny and makes for a great character if you are not going to focus on Nathan Drake for this new game !
If we do get a new Uncharted game, I just have a few wishes: - Don't ruin Drake and Elena's happy ending from Uncharted 4. - Don't shy away from having combat. Uncharted 4 had way too little of it and it really hurt the pacing for me. - Bring back Greg Edmonson as the composer. - Bring back Uncharted 3 style multiplayer with plenty of maps and modes, unlike U4.
Honestly, I don't want them to change the combat it was simple and nice not overwhelming like other games where the enemies take less damage just because the game wants u to do more flashy attacks and change many styles with uncharted it felt more realistic doing the combat and that was enjoyable and I hope they don't go tomb raider style on uncharted that will just ruin it. Edit: I just re-read what u wrote and yes I agree with u U4 didn't have much combat and half of the combat could've been done without fighting.
As much as I love Uncharted like the next fan, any Uncharted game/reboot after Uncharted 4 is a pass for me. Like you said Robin, Uncharted ended off so beautifully, on such a high note. "You're asking to screw up the legacy". The thing with the Uncharted games is, they were made for a different time, when narrative design wasn't taken seriously but now it does. The series has reached a stalemate, where ideas, narrative, characters, and gameplay has stagnated. It's all a repeat and the same old, and to reboot Uncharted is to reboot absolutely everything; how to introduce engaging core mechanics, to make it more cinematic than before, to replace iconic chacters, and to tell a story that's not about going after a treasure only to end up saving it from the hands of a diabolical rich investor or war criminal. On top of replacing the secret sauce of the games; Nate, Sully and Elena? They are what make Uncharted, especially Nathan Drake, and to replace any of them won't be the same. It's going to take A LOT for myself to be interested in the next Uncharted that's not done by Naughty Dog. Sony should focus on expanding their portfolio with new IP, not milk beloved franchises. To reboot a franchise where its last game released less than 10 years ago is a waste of time and resources. To conclude, "There must be a beginning of any great matter, but the continuing unto the end until it be thoroughly finished reveals the true glory." - Sir Francis Drake, Uncharted Drakes Fortune. Happy Holidays everyone 🎁
Did you say the same thig when santa monica rebooted god of war 5 years after ascension released? . By that logic sony were also milking the God Of War IP.
@@adityashankar2294 I did think about Ascension upon typing my comment, but the case of God of War and Uncharted are COMPLETELY different. Allow me to break it down for you; As detailed in the Raising Kratos Documentary, Shannon Studstill, the now former Sony Santa Monica Studios Head detailed how the development and reception for Ascension made the team realize that GOW NEEDED a change. It had already reached that point of stagnation, and so they brought in Cory Barlog wo had previously directed arguably the best entry in the franchise at the time, GOW 2 to revitalize God of War. The franchise had no clear direction and they seemed to have run out of ideas. It was a wake up call for them. If God of War 2018 didn't succeed, it would have meant the closure of Sony Santa Monica as we know it. With 2018's Release, GOW was successfully rebooted and with a clear direction, it's on its way to end off on a high note. Shoot they can move on after Ragnorok, that's how good it was. Now for Uncharted, the franchise has concluded Nathan Drake's Story in the best way. There's just no need to reboot the franchise despite not growing or innovating. It concluded Nathan Drake's Story in such an emotional way, it feels like a true good bye. On top of that, GOW was rebooted by SSM, the same team that actually created the IP. In this case we are talking about a reboot which isn't necessary, too soon, and isn't handled by Naughty Dog. It's all a recipe leading to disaster and it's going to take A LOT to convince fans and to meet expectations that ND has set not only for the franchise, but for the industry itself. To ask for another Uncharted is to receive what we already have been recieving for 10 years now. It's like eating a big plate of dinner, only to recieve the same exact meal right after. You've had your fill and eating anymore will make you appreciate your meal less. As consumers we need to understand when we have had our fill, all great things must come to an end. God of War didn't have that chance to end it right, but Uncharted did. Now you can also argue "Well does this mean you won't play the next God of War without Kratos"? In that case it's different as long as it is its own property and identity, to make a "God of War" game starting Atreus is not possible, Kratos is the God of War. But if it was his own spin off series, that's valid as there is a greater story to tell. Uncharted is a very grounded narrative and there's just no room for new stories other than seeking more treasures, and being confronted by the same narrative challanges that the Uncharted villains present. Again to reboot Uncharted, they might as well make a new IP cause they need to change a lot. Otherwise you're going to get more of what you've been getting with Uncharted.
Honestly I fully agree except with one thing: if they do an Uncharted game I wouldn't mind them continuing down the spinoff path with Chloe that Lost Legacy did or maybe have Nate's daughter Cassie be the next protag of the series? I wouldn't mind but I'd also be ok if they decided to move on to a different series or something and just give it closure. If anything I feel like they should focus on porting Uncharted 1-3 as well as Golden Abyss from the Vita; I think GA would be difficult but at the same time I'm sure there's a way where it could actually be done without messing up the game. I mean Bluepoint was able to remaster Gravity Rush 1 (which is another series along with every PS Exclusive series I feel deserves a port to PC) so why not Golden Abyss? I understand it's not a part of the same narrative but I would at least like to see it not forgotten.
@@gamemast15r I hear you man, as a fan the call to play another Uncharted will be difficult to pass up. Lost Legacy was great but once I finished it I never touched it again. Like you mentioned porting Golden Abyss would be absolutely awesome. Such a great entry to the series!! Let's see what the future has in store for us, if Bend is working on the next Uncharted, would be interesting to see how it turns out!
This video gave me pre 2015 vibes where everyone was speculating about Uncharted 4. Honestly though I can't imagine Uncharted without Sully/Richard, it's just not the same but at the same time we have to realise the reality of the situation.
I think I would actually like a game about young Nate growing up with Sully and Sam. I think you could tell a beautiful and exciting story about two teenagers being raised by an ex marine getting into treasure hunting. Their journey could be to go from this dysfunctional adventurer family, made up of two immature orphans, and this middleaged adventurer that never had to take care of anyone but himself, and take three games to get them go on treasure hunting adventures where they all change and learn and in the end get them to all learn to be a happy family.
I really like the idea of going back a few centuries in time to some historical explorers/treasure hunters. As you said, when you look at assassins creed for example, I think they can make it work.
I think with most franchises in any kind of media, there’s only so much you can do with it. Uncharted is one of the best video game series’ of all time. It doesn’t need to be milked. I loved A Thief’s End, but I think it would’ve been fine to have even left it with 3. That ending was a perfect ride off into the sunset kind of ending. You can’t recreate something great. I wish everyone could just accept when something is great and not always have an obligation to keep doing it to the point of it getting old
You talking about Uncharted again takes me back to when we seeing the first bits of gameplay for 4 and your countdown series is how I found your channel.
I'm so conflicted on this, I love uncharted and I can never have enough adventures, I also don't want a uncharted without the characters I love but at the same time I want their stories to be done...
I’d like to have a story about his parents. As we saw in the flashback of uncharted 4 she was a treasure hunter. We could see how the obsession drove Nate’s father away. That’s just one idea. You could do so much with that story.
The idea of Cassie wanting to go on an adventure, or maybe accidentlly getting involved in a dangerous group, and like being similar to Nate in that way looking for adventure and him maybe discouraging it showing how he's matured in dealing with Cassie does sound kinda compelling! The going back in time featuring past explorers is a really cool idea!
Always enjoy listening to your assessments… There were several adventure locations hinted at in Drakes office when you were playing the role of Cassie. The series could possibly continue from here. Cassie is of age and has become an explorer in her own right. Talks to dad about the locations that lead nowhere, but still have validity. Drake could share his tale, presented as a back flash with Sully, and/or Uncle Sam. She uses the info and goes for said adventure, but finds the treasure in the end. And of course, we’ll need to have a tie in with Drake, helping out Cassie in some way…. the father-daughter dynamic would be important to carry on. Branching out with the Uncharted series, but still keeping ties to the series’ foundation.
I really believe they should start with new characters. They would then have the freedom to do whatever they want and be able to tell different stories. I feel like Lost Legacy wasn't as successful perhaps due to weaker story overall, or the fact that it was marketed to be a smaller package. Eitherway, I think a new characters would be a nice way to do it. However they can perhaps have some Easter eggs and nods to older games
The adventures of a young Sully and his mentor from Bend (made Uncharted Golden Abyss) or even Blue Point, having proven themselves and ready to take the next test (new game in an existing series) seems to be good options.
I could totally see a sequel where Drake's daughter decides to go on some treasure hunt and then gets in trouble and Drake goes to save her. You could then have some light hearted treasure hunting with Cassie in the first half of the game, and Drake and Elena could show up halfway in.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED the way U4 ended. HOWEVER: did no one else realize the little hint they added to the epilogue of U4 with Cassie picking up that magazine before opening Nate’s collection closet? It was honestly the perfect setup for Cassie to take Nate’s spot, as cliche as it might be, I think it would be a beautiful continuation of the story that honors her dad by following in his footsteps.
An old adversary should kidnap their daughter and force them out of retirement. Now he’d have to treasure hunt to save his daughter. That way we have an excuse to play as the daughter during certain parts of the game and the transition for her taking over the mantle would make sense.
It's gonna be Nathan's daughter, with Nathan as the "new Sully" and a new dog. Perfect way to continue, with some Nathan segments. Nathan would probably be trying to save his daughter, or something.
Merry Christmas to you as well, Robin. I'd like to think it's a full reboot with new characters and they will let Nate rest, at least I hope so. At most, the series will continue with Sam and Sully, or Chloe and Nadine.
Old man Drake finally finds Atlantis is really the only way to go for Uncharted 5. It’s pretty much the last major legend they got left to explore & its really the biggest mythological place of them all.
Can't there be a A-TEAM which for TLOU Part 3 and a B-TEAM which work on Uncharted sequels in Naughty Dog itself. By doing that Naughty Dog can have their own IP, have control over the stories moving foreword but the major work will be done by their juniors. Others studios may not do justice to the beloved characters or may kill them in future games.
You really wear your thoughtfulness and good nature towards others on your sleeve and its a refreshing thing when it comes to talking about games...maybe people just do it too much and you just hit the right amount but thanks for the vids. I might have a semi possibly ignorance induced anecdote to go with my claim as ive never encountered someone with an accent like yours within the last 10-15 yrs who wasnt a total joy to be around. Basically for me, dutch type people voicing their excitement about stuff gets my juices flowing
Another issue with the prequel angle is that the movies are essentially trying to cover that part of Drake's life, so unless the games are adaptations of the movie, I wouldn't expect the games to be trying to do the same things as the movie.
My worry is Sony's over-reliance on existing franchises and not enough effort put into new IP's and ideas. I loved how Sony mixed in existing IP's with some creative newer stuff. Outside of some indies like Sifu, Stray, and Kena, and stuff like Returnal, the lineup is really standard. I was hoping PSVR2 is where they can have more experimental games, but the marketing for it has been slim. Outside of stuff like Horizon VR (another milked franchise), there isn't much announced on the horizon (pun intended). Sony is excellent at what they do, but I wish they branched out and experimented more. The industry is in a creative lull right now.
I would have loved a spinoff with Chloe and Cutter, because it seems those characters have some history, and we never got enough Cutter due to The Hobbit. Unfortunately, Cutter was originally going to be in Uncharted 4, but when Amy Hennig was fired, according to Richard, Graham McTavish basically said "fuck this" and quit Uncharted 4, so because of that, I don't see him coming back in a spinoff unfortunately :(
I agree with so many of your points in the video.. Uncharted is by far my favorite series.. The story is just as important as the gameplay to me.. I love how it ended. Maybe they can start a new chapter that drags an adult Cassie into that life? Something she had to do to help or save her parents? Chloe could be her mentor due to circumstances possibly..
No more female main characters. I am glad that Neil Druckmann did not or couldnt push his lgbtq shit agenda in Uncharted. Look what he has done to The Last of us. Freaking hell. If it’s not going to be Nathan Drake then give us Sam Drake.
it seems to reboot when 4 left the door open for the series to continue with Sam and Sully, and Lost Legacy played into that pretty well. I imagine it'll be a soft reboot with Sam and Sully as leads so they can have legacy characters make cameos, or do a prequel series with a young sully. I dont seem them going full reboot in the day and age of the legacy sequel, and frankly, i wouldn't want it. While i dont really want more uncharted as Uncharted 4 is one of the best video games ever made.
I'm actually happy to hear a different studio may be writing an Uncharted game with the questionable writing coming out of Naughty Dog lately with The Last of Us 2. Amy Henning got pushed out of the studio for a reason, and Naughty Dog is no longer interested in writing games like they were under her leadership
Money is the only reasoning. They already have a massive IP with a built in fanbase. Not a whole lot to lose and a lot (of money) to gain without having to invest so many resources and time into something new. They are going to squeeze everything they can out of their existing IP for the foreseeable future. Whether it be games, movies, or tv shows. This is where Playstation is right now, for better or worse.
Man, who would’ve ever thought Robin talk about Uncharted again. It feels like 2014-16 again 😢, As much as i would love to relive those times again i personally can’t see Uncharted returning in any shape or form, Nathan’s story ended beautifully and i think ending a series such as Uncharted really makes it a staple of that era of gaming and how timeless and iconic it was formed.
You know, in April 1993, the Times Mirror conducted a poll about the tv Sitcom "Cheers" as it was about to finish its 11 season run. The last two questions of the survey asked watchers who their favorite character on Cheers was, and who they'd like to see a spin-off about. The results of those two questions, answered by 1,011 people, were very similar. Sam Malone was clearly in first at about 25%, followed by Woody at 18% and Norm at 14%. These were then followed by Carla Tortelli (8%), Rebecca Howe (6%), Diane Chambers (4%), and Cliff the postman (2%). Coming in at the bottom with 1% each were Coach, Lilith, and...Frasier Crane, who alone was given a successful, and almost as iconic, spinoff series. Don't overlook the possibility that certain side characters, even ones who are clearly not the most popular, will get the best results. The real challenge is making a new game that has new kinds of stories and dynamics. On that note, I'll make this prediction: if the next Uncharted franchise game is successful, it'll be a different kind of action adventure game that isn't pulp fiction archaeology, and it'll focus on either Cassandra Drake-Fisher as sequel or Victor Sullivan as prequel (now that Chloe and Nadine aren't options).
I am pretty sure they will make a good story. I just hope so much that there will be a multiplayer, and that it will be built like U3, and include ALL the maps from all the parts.
Yeah, I couldn't care a bit how they work out the story, just as long as we get some more of that MP. I much prefer Uncharted MP over Factions. I prefer Uncharteds balls to the wall fast paced gun play over crouching through the whole map, scrounging up supplies with only two bullets in my gun. Man, I don't need the anxiety.
It would be cool to see some of drake and Sully’s adventures from betfore uncharted 1 and could a good way to introduce new characters that we never saw from his past
They have a lot of freedom with the franchise, there are so many characters they can follow with. i loved chloe since uncharted 2 and the lost legacy was the cherry on top for me. They can go back in time or even forward, heck they can even do one with Cassie Drake following in her parents’ footsteps.
I still remember your U2 and U3 highlight clips. NG even added in your clips in that little pop-out window in U3, lol. You had so few subs and were basically a nobody (no offense!). And now I see you show up in my recommended and you have almost 170k subs? I'm so proud, lol. Keep up the good work, dude. ;)
If there is a uncharted 5 I think there is going to be a villain who wants to find Eldorado, shambala and the brass jar to sell it or make a army and he is going to threaten Nate’s family and tell him to help him find it or he’ll kill his family
I honestly DO NOT WANT A REBOOT. Please don’t mess this legacy up! Drake is retired…the only thing this fanbase would accept would be Cassie Drake taking over the lead role. With a great storyline…Like Chloe & Nadine Ross… drag her in with they’re treasure journey…which pisses Nate off & cause a rift between him and Chloe… with Chloe taking on the Sully role for Cassie.
Honestly a reboot or a new one with new people won't ruin the other games for me, they'll always be there, I for one look forward to more Uncharted On a side note though, our feelings about a possible Uncharted reboot may be different but I'll always love the memories I have of watching every video you uploaded on the countdown to the release of U4 those were some great times that I will always love
I think Guerilla Games will make it for Naughty Dog. There are also a lot of similar mechanics between Horizon and Uncharted and some newer ones from Horizon: Forbidden West that would be cool to see in Uncharted. Visually and story-wise Guerilla Games could definitely deliver an amazing Uncharted game. They also both use motion capture. Also, if Cassie is the main character would be great because Guerilla Games told the story of an outcast tribal girl uncovering crazy old-world technology and trying to find her mother and they could handle this the same way with Cassie: uncovering crazy secrets and learning more about yourself in the process.
I feel like there are still stories that could still be written for more uncharted games and treasures and adventures to chase but just not with Nate anymore. It would have to be a complete reboot. Someone new and fresh. I'm eager to see how it turns out if they do decide to go this way.
As a lover of the Nathan Drake Uncharted Franchise having another game will be the most perfect thing for me, but if i take a step back and think like your video made me do, the legacy of this game is entirely more important than making a new game. Its hard to decide because the Fans really want a new game under the name Uncharted but having the legacy ruined from a potential flop will turn the fans again you very quick, im happy they took a breather from the Franchise to potentailly also had time to think about how to continue this franchise. All i can say is that i pray they take there time because antoher game will be very Fragile and they need to be very careful with it.
I think there are a few ways that Naughty Dog can go with the franchise, without ruining the concrete ending of the 4th game, which was such a perfect ending to Nathan's story. 1.) Making Cassie, Nathan's daughter, the main protagonist where Sam possibly acts as her Sully. Let the Drake legacy continue through her. 2.) Adventures of a young Sully, Nathan, and Sam. Like a prolog to the story of Nathan that we all love today. 3.) Sam's story. At the end of uncharted 4, Sam goes on to work with Sully and we see him again in the lost Legacy. Maybe we get the golden trio that is Sam, Chloe, and Nadine. 4.) Take Chloe, a beloved character, and make her the protagonist of her own series, possibly with Nathan still as a side character. As long as they don't ruin the perfect ending to Nathan's story that the 4th game was, I'll be happy. However, I'm weary of Naughty Dog not being the one to continue the franchise.
i'm an uncharted nut but if they kept the idea and gameplay from the originals and placed drake's daughter as the main with chloe as her sully.....i'd be good with it. another four games that drops in known faces and brings in new enemies, then wraps with a final game where drake n cassie face something crazy together, that'd be wild. the idea is there and its great.
I would of course be excited for a new uncharted game, I love the whole series but I'm not sure how much they could really do to expand the formula. Uncharted 4 pretty much completed it in my mind, it's hard to envision anything new not just covering old ground.
I view this the same way I view film remakes/reboots: Whether the new game is good or bad, I still have the original game/story that I adore. If it does end up being good, we get an awesome new game!!
I think at no point will this sequel, if there is one, will be centered around Nathan, My guess I think it'll be centered around Cassie, Nathan's daughter or Sam and Sully as you said, Richard has moved away but Uncharted was one of the best series he's ever worked on so I'm sure he'd be happy to come back
If they're gonna reboot it, I just want to have the same characters back. Give us Nate, Elena, Sully at least, don't change them too much appearance-wise and let's just hope the new actors will do just as good as a job as the older ones.
First of all, Uncharted has been very close to my heart for a great many years now, and I very much enjoyed watching all of your videos leading up to the release of Uncharted 4 (those were the days!). I would personally like to see a few remakes, especially of Drake's Fortune (which is the only one in the series I find nearly unplayable due to its aged combat...). That way we could get to see and play as Nate again in what could almost feel like a new game, without ruining his legacy. That being said, should Sony actually want a franchise that they could continue, I think the best would be a continuation of Sam's story arc. Troy B is very much still working, and you could still have Nate/Nolan make a few cameos (heck, you could even do some flashbacks like the one in the Panama prison to feature them together more and maybe even make Nate playable similar to Sam's chapter in U4). As we know from LL, Sully doesn't seem to be a very big part of Sam's new adventures anyway, meaning Sully/Richard McG could just come in for a quick cameo. Have Sam meet up with Chloe and Nadine at some instances, sure, but keep the main focus on Sam since his humor and wits are more on par with his younger brother. You could even include new driving elements that have you do chase sequences on motorcycles.
They could also make an uncharted game in which all the action is preformed by other characters. Like an uncharted game in were you play as cassy solving a mystery behind a treasure and each time you find a clue she imagines what happens and you flashback to the past and play an action segment with the game's historical counterpart. It would be like assassin's creed but without the sci fi and actually good. It would keep whoever is the main character hand's clean and still have action
Robin gaming talking about uncharted again!! Hell yeah. I wouldnt mind a total reboot, maybe a semi open world and a more mystical and fantastical theme on ps5 would be cool.
It is incredible how my feelings of naughty dog changed. And just how fast too. I really enjoyed uncharted 4, but it definitely didn't feel as good as past ND games. Last of Us 2 was the last straw though. The company has just changed completely, and that's fine for some, but they just don't make games I can enjoy now.
Respectfully it's been the opposite for me. Uncharted 4 and Last of Us 2 have been Naughty Dog's best games for me, and I hope the PS5 is a good era for Naughty Dog as well. That being said, Uncharted and Last of Us feel done to me, but it seems that Naughty Dog is continuing with both franchises instead of new ones
I felt uncharted 4 was honestly a masterpiece of the formula - I just have more of an attachment to the previous games because they were my 1sts. I think rather than a number 5 they should do a remake! of 1 to 3
I know what you mean. It worked with Uncharted 4 because it felt fresh, but these gritty games are the complete opposite of the Naughty Dog that made Jak and Daxter and Uncharted 1-3. I want them to close the book on Nathan Drake and his family, and go back to a lighthearted adventure, but I would bet good money that neither of those will be the case.
I didn't enjoy last of us 2 but that's one bad game. You can't write off a studio when they make 1 flop. Hopefully their next few games will redeem them
@@mrhater2284 You can write them off when the problem is the creative direction and attitude and those same people behind that creative direction and attitude are still there in control.
I would rebuild the first two from the ground up, and perhaps the PSP version somewhere in the mix. Purely to bring them up to date, but also to improve some of the gaming elements - and then also to ensure the story ending is not messed around with. There is legs in some careful rebuilds. From my honest opinion, which I accept some may not value.
If there is an Uncharted 5, Nathan's not gonna be in it. It would ruin the impact of A Thief's End, especially considering we got an epilogue with them settled down. It'll be Sam and/or Chloe
If you don't go The Adventures of Young Sully route, it could be a game in which Drake takes on the Sully role (NPC) reluctantly mentoring a new treasure hunter. Maybe the new treasure hunter hasn't appeared in an Uncharted game yet. You could have the "New Drake" be the fiance of Nate's now adult daughter. Nate sees he's secretly a treasure theif like he used to be, while his family thinks he's actually a young up and coming, successful business man. Nate hates him because he sees himself in his daughter's fiance while everyone else loves him and can't understand why Nate doesn't.
My opinion is that it is a loose remake of Uncharted 1 (with more developed character writing like in U4) That would allow them to: 1. Create and rewrite all the characters histories from new (change as little or as much) 2. Have a base game/story to build out from (art, premise ect) 3. Decide whether they want to include supernaturals in cannon 4. From there they can create all new stories disregarding U1-3 that treat U4 cannon as endpoint (but may follow many of the same story beats, just not remaking U2 and U3)
I don't like the idea of a new studio taking on this franchise or for them to make a re-booted game. I am nervous about it as I don't think it will be as good as Naughty Dog's games. Money does talk though I just hope they don't ruin the franchise.
I would like a couple of games centered around Chloe and Nadine, and Sam and Sully respectively, to show what they’ve been up to between the end of Uncharted 4 and it’s epilogue. Then, I would introduce a New character, in his early 20’s which could turn out to be Chloe’s and Nathan Drake’s fling prize son, which Nathan wouldn’t find out until the end of his game. I would call him Drake Frazier. He would go on a mission with his mom, Chloe, and she would be the New Sully, along with other old friends returning in cameos. It would start a New Trilogy, it would explain Chloe’s change of perspective in Lost Legacy as she was more caring and protective and less heartless then in Uncharted 2. And in the sequel, he could team up with Uncle Sam, or even Cassie, his half sister, and gets to know his dad side of the family.
I love how the first phase of Uncharted wrapped up, but i do hope it is in fact just that, only the first phase. I do though think Nate's journey is completed. Whether we go with Sam and Sully, or more with Chloe and Nadine or someone else, maybe new completely with cameo's from some of the characters we already know.
Alright, one way I would imagine works as a sequel and still features Drake is Elena leaves Nate to find a treasure, Nate is Nate and goes tracking her and trying to find her. And you can have Elena and Nate segments, and have Nate sometimes have to change the route because something blocked the route Elena took. See, this plot, I can get behind with Elena becoming Elena from the first uncharted
honestly if there is an uncharted six, i feel like there’s a way to keep nathan’s story wrapped and that’d be a new protag. i guess we’d be playing as nathan’s daughter, given the epilogue of uncharted four.
It has to be young sully or Sam drake. No Chloe and hopefully not Nadine (stronger than Nathan and Sam, yea for sure) I mean Chloe can be a side char like in the good old days but not main Thats it
The reason I desperately want a new Uncharted game is because no other game series has made me feel the way it has. I still love video games and I always will. But each new game I play just doesn’t even slightly compare to how I feel about Uncharted. Whenever I think back to this series it fills me with nothing but fond memories and excitement. Even games like the recent God of War Ragnarok which is perfect in almost every way imaginable still didn’t make me feel this way and left me with a feeling of emptiness when I reached the credits. I think to myself when I’m playing games these days that I should be enjoying this more than I am. I don’t know if games are just getting worse or if I’m just losing interest in games. Like games just can’t suprise me anymore and the things I loved a few years ago just don’t bring me the same excitement. I just want to feel this way again and that’s why I want a new Uncharted game. That being said I really don’t want it to be about Nathan. His story ended perfectly. Make it about anyone else whether it be Cassie or a brand new character not connected to the old cast or even the same universe.
same here brother I think Naughty Dog raised our expectations that other devs can’t reach. No game make me feel better than Uncharted Last Of Us and naughty dog games.. it’s a gift and a curse
Maybe you should check out some indie games if you want something truly fresh. Not saying an Uncharted game couldn't deliver the same feelings and probably even better, but they're still worth a look in the meantime.
I have had the exact same experience with games recently. One series I do recommended though is the plague tale franchise as the storyline and gameplay left me with the same feelings the uncharted series.
If they do an Uncharted 5 (They shouldn't) but if they do, I would rather they do another Chloe and Sam Drake adventure aka The Lost Legacy Part 2, Nate, Elena, and Sully can have a cameo, but Nathan Drake's story is done. I'd rather it'd be Chloe, Sam, and Charlie Cutter off on something like....King Solomon's Mines or Confederate Gold
You nailed what they're doing at the end. Drake is a descendant of the real Sir Francis Drake, so that's what they're going to do: Either the man himself, or an in between ancestor: and most likely still voiced by Nolan North. I'm sure there are a few ESG score muppets trying to sell them on a diversity quota new lead, either the daughter, or female reboot, but they KNOW that will lose money. So Sony is going tried and true: Nolan North, playing a "Drake", just one form the past. There is a reason Metal Gear Solid 3 was so successful: reuse the main protagonist all the player-base wants, even though he was playing a different character. I can GUARANTEE it. 😉
I don't get why some get so shaken and start spouting about agendas or games being woke when they have a lead that isn't a white male. Even if there is a diversity quota, that doesn't have to be a bad thing. It's nice seeing variety. I swear, the tough men never looked so weak as when Abby was a playable character.
@@user-jt1js5mr3f Bro the amount of hardcore coping when players realized that not only was Abby gonna be a playable character.. but that her companion is TRANS!! Stg I never seen the word “woke” be used so often than when talking ab that game lol
Here’s my idea. Nathan drake is still the main character (he’s playable most of the time) Casey is an adult now and doing her own thing. Nathan and Casey’s relationship hasn’t necessarily fallen apart, but she is treasure hunting and basically being her dad. Nathan is unaware of this until some story plot leads him to need to save Casey. Game starts with Nate and Elena living that life they talked about, but they need to save their daughter. They do and she convinces at least Nate to continue the quest for treasure. We could really see Nathan and Casey’s relationship grow a lot and them become the father daughter duo that I think would be really interesting. Of course I’d love to see Chloe, Charlie, and maybe sully in some degree throughout the story. That’s just my idea.
Potential story idea: The series focusing on Cassie, to me, would be the best way to continue the franchise since she is Nate’s daughter and any adventures tied to her could reinforce representations of Drake’s legacy. For uncharted 5, the story could perhaps be primarily about Cassie and a friend going on a little treasure adventure beyond where they are supposed to go (e.g. shady/suspicious areas) that goes horribly wrong, where they get abducted by unknown goons and have to escape. The goons/villains may force Cassie and her friend to retrieve an artifact from somewhere and bring it back to the villain. Furthermore, the retrieval of the artifact might be tied to a treasure or lost city, that only inspires Cassie to go much further with the adventure, recalling that her father got into similar confrontations and situations in his past. This inspiration that Cassie feels may spark mental and emotional challenges between Cassie and her friend, where her friend may insist once they find the artifact, they should get out and head back home, versus Cassie who may want to continue treasure hunting. Nate and Elena don’t know about anything but once they do, they scramble to figure out where Cassie could be and how to rescue her. The situation of potentially needing to rescue Cassie may spark mental challenges between Nate and Elena, who have both agreed to not do dangerous things anymore, but maybe the fact that their daughter is in trouble is the breaking point that eventually forces the 2 to get back into “treasure hunting mode”. They might alternatively also consult help from previous uncharted characters, such as Chloe or Charlie, to track down Cassie. The mental and emotional challenges between Nate and Elena might start happening as early as chapters 13 or as late as chapter 15, in a 22 chapter game, emphasizing a game that primarily stares Cassie, her friend, and the villains as main characters of the game. Although Nate and Elena would be main characters due to the fact that the series is centered around them, their minor roles and presences in this hypothetical plot (or at least until late in the game) combined with Cassie’s dominant, playable role in the game could reinforce the idea that the series will now be all about Cassie and that Nate and Elena would likely not be prominent characters since they have agreed to be done with the dangers behind illegal treasure hunting. Therefore, this first game (uncharted 5) of this reboot can be summarized as focused 80% on Cassie and her inspiration to seek the kind of glory her father had, but a significant 20% on Nate, Elena, and other previous characters’ roles with Cassie’s obsession. This simplistic focus on Cassie sort of reminds me of how Uncharted 1 was like, where in the game, Nate was either by himself, with Sully, or with Elena treasure hunting. In this Uncharted 5, the main gameplay can primarily focus on playing as Cassie who could be by herself, with her friend, or with either Nate, Elena, Sam, Chloe, etc (not all but at least 1 one of the characters). In my hypothetical plot, it’s likely no heroes would die, all the villains are dead, and everyone comes out happy to all be alive, but with the consequence that Cassie still doesn’t know what she truly values (her family or her treasure hunting dreams), which may result in the death of a hero (such as Chloe for example) in a hypothetical Uncharted 6. This is just my rough plot idea for the kind of direction Uncharted 5 could take that doesn’t ruin the integrity of Nate and Elena’s ending, where instead of Nate and Elena debating on whether they want to do dangerous things again, it’s a matter of them needing to for the sake of their daughter’s life. Because of how rough of an idea is, I understand there’s likely a lot of plot holes that need to be addressed.
I’d assume it would be about Nate’s daughter then Nate himself, side note I hope they bring back the triangle button counter, I rlly missed the old melee combat from the original games that they didn’t bring back into the 4th
Honestly it would be better if they make a uncharted game that has nothing to do with the other game but it still has Nathan but maybe a new crew or something and it can be a regular adventure basically what they do with the James bond movies like a reboot
I’m good with reboots and a fifth game. Though Uncharted 4 was a perfect game and ending to me, the ending can still stand. The epilogue provides 12-14 years of time considering Cassie was around 12-13 years old. The teaser trailer could simply be Nate or Sully calling the other saying, “One last time.” Sully and Sam in major trouble so the crew gets together to save them. However, game MUST have Nathan Drake. Absolute must.
Hey everyone, wishing you all a merry Christmas and happy holidays! I figured what better present to give you all than to talk about Uncharted on the channel? It's been a while... ;) Let me know how you feel about all the recent leaks, and I hope you'll enjoy the video!
Awesome analysis
Happy New Year! 🎆🎆🎆
I'd instantly buy this kind of a new UNCHARTED game with going back in time.
Cheers.
I hope they leave Nate alone ffs!
Really can't trust Naughty Dog with anything these days especially with Bruce gone.
No lgbt please . most people dislike it
It’s logical that they are not gonna give up on a franchise as big as uncharted, I’m actually surprised that it’s taking so long.
I’m not really surprised tho. I think it’s good to take a breather from the franchise. And now, I think it’s a good time to bring it back.

I would rather still have nathan drake as the main charater but flash backs playing as sully would be cool

Feels oddly nice when I hear anything about uncharted from you. Takes me back to the ol days damn.

- Don't ruin Drake and Elena's happy ending from Uncharted 4.
- Don't shy away from having combat. Uncharted 4 had way too little of it and it really hurt the pacing for me.
- Bring back Greg Edmonson as the composer.
- Bring back Uncharted 3 style multiplayer with plenty of maps and modes, unlike U4.

Agree with all your points!
Bring back Amy Hennig as the writer.
Definitely agree with the U3 type multiplayer.
@@adityashankar2294 I did think about Ascension upon typing my comment, but the case of God of War and Uncharted are COMPLETELY different. Allow me to break it down for you;
As detailed in the Raising Kratos Documentary, Shannon Studstill, the now former Sony Santa Monica Studios Head detailed how the development and reception for Ascension made the team realize that GOW NEEDED a change.
I would play if they had a new character
That would have to be on its own alternate timeline. Would you be okay with that?
@@rufus5208no it wouldn’t

🔝I have something for you kindly hit me up🤘🤘✅
We need Uncharted 2 & 3 multiplayer remasterd
It’s gonna Be like a cycle in the family.
Is it bad that I don't care about Cassie being in uncharted
sounds super cliche to me.
Always enjoy listening to your assessments…
There were several adventure locations hinted at in Drakes office when you were playing the role of Cassie.
Watching this channel gives me so much Nostalgia 😅
An old adversary should kidnap their daughter and force them out of retirement. Now he’d have to treasure hunt to save his daughter. That way we have an excuse to play as the daughter during certain parts of the game and the transition for her taking over the mantle would make sense.
THANKS FOR WATCHING ❤️

I'd love a fleshed out Sully prequel trilogy
The industry is in a creative lull right now.
horizon came out in 2017, there has been 2 games.
@@NouhousFilms There is a VR game coming and I believe a multiplayer title is in the works.
@@Drstrange3000 ”milked”
Uncharted 5 playing as an old Nathan on an adventure with his daughter while he's telling dad jokes sounds like a great sequel ngl...
I would have loved a spinoff with Chloe and Cutter, because it seems those characters have some history, and we never got enough Cutter due to The Hobbit. Unfortunately, Cutter was originally going to be in Uncharted 4, but when Amy Hennig was fired, according to Richard, Graham McTavish basically said "fuck this" and quit Uncharted 4, so because of that, I don't see him coming back in a spinoff unfortunately :(
I hope they reboot the franchise with Chloe Frazer. She's amazing!
That's a terrible idea
Merry Christmas to everyone!
Merry Christmas to u 2
Money is the only reasoning. They already have a massive IP with a built in fanbase. Not a whole lot to lose and a lot (of money) to gain without having to invest so many resources and time into something new. They are going to squeeze everything they can out of their existing IP for the foreseeable future. Whether it be games, movies, or tv shows. This is where Playstation is right now, for better or worse.
A reboot of Uncharted Trilogy on PS VR 2 would be crazy !
So nostalgic hearing you talk about Uncharted. Miss the old days when we were all waiting for the forth one.
Keep up the good work, dude. ;)
I would not mind a remake of the first 3 games, TLOU Part 1 style. They certainly deserve a remake over TLOU.
THANKS FOR WATCHING ❤️

I like the Cassie Drake idea! That's what I woulda thought the direction the games would've gone after beating Uncharted 4.
Honestly a reboot or a new one with new people won't ruin the other games for me, they'll always be there, I for one look forward to more Uncharted
On a side note though, our feelings about a possible Uncharted reboot may be different but I'll always love the memories I have of watching every video you uploaded on the countdown to the release of U4 those were some great times that I will always love
This video brings the same rush back to play and experience the uncharted storyline after 2016.
With a new studio making it I certainly don't know how to feel. Do we know if any of the old writers are returning?
I would of course be excited for a new uncharted game, I love the whole series but I'm not sure how much they could really do to expand the formula. Uncharted 4 pretty much completed it in my mind, it's hard to envision anything new not just covering old ground.
I view this the same way I view film remakes/reboots: Whether the new game is good or bad, I still have the original game/story that I adore. If it does end up being good, we get an awesome new game!!
Honestly forgot that you started making videos again, but I’m so glad you did. Love your vids as always.
An Uncharted video on Christmas? Couldn’t have asked for a better present! 🎁
Happy holidays, Robin!
No Drake = No Uncharted. A sequel without him will be completely forgettable
It was just announced by Neil Druckmann that there won't be a new uncharted. I think 4 was a perfect ending to the series
What about lost legacy
*made by Naughty Dog
Hi I'm from one year in the future. Nothing has happened .
Good to hear you talking about Uncharted again Robin, Merry Christmas
My opinion is that it is a loose remake of Uncharted 1 (with more developed character writing like in U4)
That would allow them to:
1. Create and rewrite all the characters histories from new (change as little or as much)
2. Have a base game/story to build out from (art, premise ect)
3. Decide whether they want to include supernaturals in cannon
4. From there they can create all new stories disregarding U1-3 that treat U4 cannon as endpoint (but may follow many of the same story beats, just not remaking U2 and U3)
I hope so. Great series of games
Thanks for watching

See, this plot, I can get behind with Elena becoming Elena from the first uncharted
honestly if there is an uncharted six, i feel like there’s a way to keep nathan’s story wrapped and that’d be a new protag. i guess we’d be playing as nathan’s daughter, given the epilogue of uncharted four.
its a best of both worlds. nathan and elena would still be in parts of the game, but it leaves room for future sequels as its a new generation.
It has to be young sully or Sam drake.
No Chloe and hopefully not Nadine (stronger than Nathan and Sam, yea for sure)
I mean Chloe can be a side char like in the good old days but not main
Thats it
The reason I desperately want a new Uncharted game is because no other game series has made me feel the way it has.
@@MacLeeUnknown I actually played it it was a great story just wish it had a tad bit more combat
I REALLY don't expect them to make a Cassie focused game.
I want ND to do something new or something classic that isn't Uncharted or TLOU.
Um... actually, Nathan is NOT a descendant of Sir Francis Drake, didn't you play the 4th game?
@@user-jt1js5mr3f holy sh*t that was cringe. 🤣
@@mangaas which part?
Uncharted in space. That's what I want. What's more Uncharted than, space?
merry christmas robin! so many fond memories playing uncharted 3 with the boys, trying to get my clips on your top plays of the week videos! love it.
Potential story idea:
The series focusing on Cassie, to me, would be the best way to continue the franchise since she is Nate’s daughter and any adventures tied to her could reinforce representations of Drake’s legacy.
Just play tomb raider at that point
Merry Christmas Robin!
I’d assume it would be about Nate’s daughter then Nate himself, side note I hope they bring back the triangle button counter, I rlly missed the old melee combat from the original games that they didn’t bring back into the 4th
holy shit. I rediscovered you after years. Great to watch another video of yours!!
Welcome back! Now don't forget to subscribe so you don't have to rediscover me again in years ;D
If they made a pre sequel about sully or how him and Nathan met that would be cool. I can’t think of a better ending for the uncharted series
They kinda had that in Uncharted 3. They tied up everything in such neat and tidy bows that it's hard to pack anything else in.
We already got a backstory of how Nate and Sully met on Uncharted 3. It all started with the wallet lol.
