- When you think PlayStation, several franchises come to mind - Horizon, The Last of Us, Gran Turismo - and rightfully so, given their success. However, in the PS3 era, it was all about Naughty Dog's Uncharted series.
Coming off of the Jak and Daxter series, the developer presented more realistic visuals and action-platforming alongside a charismatic new hero in Nathan Drake. Suffice it to say that the series was a success, with it selling millions of copies and earning significant critical praise.
Though Drake's story concluded in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, there have been reports and rumors of new games, whether it's a reboot or remake. Is Uncharted 5 happening at any point, or does Sony have something else in mind for the franchise?

I dont mind game series ending and studios trying new stuff, but Uncharted was so good i dont want this to be the end

I get it but you have to let it go. its for the best. Otherwise the gaming industry remains stagnant. New IPs must be made otherwise Sony would have the same mistakes as XBox who milked Halo and gears if war until fans stopped wanting more Halo and gears of war.

It was a great ending for the franchise, Nate still the same funny and love woman's got a child and retired on a beach house it was perfect what could possible go wrong with that 👌
on a side note I'd be happy with Uncharted the golden abyss getting a port to next gen.

The last of us part 2 just dropped 4 years ago uncharted the lost legacy dropped 2017 I think it’s time for uncharted 5 2025 PS5 Sam The last of us part 3 could wait till 2027

Some stories don’t need to go on forever. It’s okay for some of them to have an end. Uncharted is one of them.

Pretty sure if you played Uncharted 4 you’d see that the story is perfectly wrapped up. Yea they left an ‘opening’ with the daughter angle, but that wouldn’t truly be ‘Uncharted.’ It would be what ‘Madame Web’ or ‘She-Hulk’ is to the Marvel universe… a property that holds the brand name and attempts quick PR cash grabs.
There will never be another perfection like the Nathan Drake Uncharted series. No need to reinvent perfection.

@MilkANDMagic I would take uncharted 5 over a reboot of the franchise or over a remake of any of the previous. It's a game. There are so many shenanigans Nathan Drake could still get in. Just because it wrapped up nicely doesn't mean there isn't potential. I would be more than happy to jump into a new adventure with Nathan Drake, Sully, and the likes.
Naughty Dog is too busy re-releasing and shoving the Last of Us down our throats.

The studio already wanted as early as 2016 to made uncharted 4 as the final title to close off nathan story arc. And they were nice enough to expand what was originally an dlc into a bigger scale title with uncharted the lost legacy.
Beside this series is very old already and it started in the ps3 days. How much more they can do with it is questionable.
There is no need for uncharted 5. The story is already told. And nobody wants to play as a daughter
They must leave Nathan's story alone, and move on...

Hopefully not happening or far away if it is. U4 wrapped up the story nicely. Even if a whole new cast was introduced what will we see with gameplay? More getting chased by Armored vehicles, getting on a truck and using the turret to blow up the other trucks chasing you, running across a bridge that collapses from the enemies shooting at you, climbing a buncha walls and cliffs, etc etc.
Some series should end. There's no need for them all to keep running on and on. Let's see more new series be born

This series was great in my younger days . . . right up until I lost interest in third-person gaming around 4 years ago.
I'm at this point in gaming where I seriously can't stand the third-person perspective.
Only god knows. Hopefully Sony brings it back sooner than later. It’s been far too long. It’s my favorite game franchise of all time. I can’t wait .
They’ve never confirmed an uncharted 5, which is a shame cause they’re all excellent, just because Nathan’s story has come to en end doesn’t mean the franchise can’t continue, they can follow Chloe from here on out, lost legacy did a great job of transitioning to Chloe from Nathan.

I just want a remake of 1-3 to the fidelity and gameplay of UC4
Gameplay was the same for 2 and 3 beside the grappling hook and the fact you can hide on the grass

The Uncharted games are fantastic! With that said, we don’t need an Uncharted 5. People complain all day about sequels but beg their favorite studios to make sequels. Make it make sense!
There’s no need to make another Uncharted game with Drake. 4 ended his and Elena’s story beautifully. If they want to make another trilogy with spin-off characters like what The Lost legacy did then I might be interested as long as the studio who’s doing it do it with care.

It’s definetly coming! It’s going to be about Cassie Drake, not Nate. It will not be developed by Naughty dog but they have helped the studio slightly. It was teased a while ago in a ps comercial showing a blonde young girl in a tomb holding a tourch. Probably not! But Im calling it to be revealed next wednesday or thursday.

Uncharted 4 was just such a perfect game, then to come up with The Lost Legacy, they really hit gold. It’s one of those franchises where I deeply want another but only if it works and is worthy of its predecessors. Quality always over quantity.
I doubt they make another one anytime soon but if they did I’d like to see them let us experience a story where Elena is the main protagonist. Story could involve her (Elena) being forced to recover the Knights Templar treasure (giving us a climax set in Scotland or Nova Scotia), Cleopatra’s tomb (giving us an climax set in Egypt), Montezuma’s Treasure (giving us a climax set in Southwestern United States or Mexico) or the Lost Dutchman’s mine (giving us a climax set in Arizona’s Superstition Mountains) in return for a kidnapped Nathan Drake who has been taken by Rika Raja (Nate’s former love interest who betrayed him and her brother Eddy in Uncharted: Eye of Indra (the Uncharted Prequel)). Rika’s primary motive could be not only jealousy of Nate and Elena’s relationship but also revenge for Eddy’s death in which she blames Nate.

UNCHARTED TRILOGY SHOULD COME TO PC
At LEAST remaster the original trilogy for PS5. TLOU2 is mid as hell and pt 3 likely will be too. I'm sick of Naughty Dog milking TLOU content year after year with needless remasters when Uncharted hasn't been touched
