I live in Arizona and the California populous has seemed to change our ways of life in our small town. I'm from the South Originally, but look forward to coming back to like minded people and getting involved with a good community in SC.
I enjoy your video. Thanks for sharing fun facts abt your area. I'm researching on where to retire. Could you tell me how diverse is your area? Ethnicity and religion wise. Thank you.
I'm looking to move to Aiken from NYC. My first choice was really TX, but hubby is not a fan of the heat. I think the beef and bbqs there would be better. The last time I was in SC, I couldn't find any beef ribs - even thing was pork this and pork that which I don't eat. I would not like most of the food there at all. Other than this, it seems Aiken would be a good place to move to retire.
There is such a great variety of locally owned restaurants in the Aiken area! Check out some of my other videos… one is about places to have dinner, and another about places to get breakfast. Even if you aren’t into typical “southern foods” there are plenty of other options. My favorite thing about our local restaurants in Aiken is they change their menus every few weeks (while keeping their main staples) so it’s exciting to go out to eat each time and see what great new seasonal dishes they have! - Lindsey Vance
"Bless your heart" is a passive-aggressive, hateful (with a smile on their face and a chirp in their voice, of course) way for "Christians" to say FU to right to your face. It's repugnant, not kind. Jesus would never do that, nor go along with it...
I'm from Aiken. I've been in Metro Atlanta for 11 years now. I miss the slower paced life a lot. Can't wait to visit home again

So if someone says "bless your heart" to you, should you call them out on it? I think I would
Thank you, Lindsey, love your videos, and counting the days to snow bird, only 10 days til there with my 2 horses !!

We have that in Illinois the Pimento cheese that brand
Love me some frogmore.
Sooo good! Nothing like it! 😎
I prefer Ruth’s pimento cheese. Their chicken salad is pretty good too.
Ruth’s is great, it’s such a classic brand! ☺️ -Lindsey
