So if it's a war on the people and the Earth why shouldn't he fight back. The one mistake he made was he didn't amass a big enough army to have a proper chance. He has the charisma after all to pull it off. But he was too high half the time. No more corpo wars, a war between the little guys and the greedy dipshits.
It was these moments that made me believe Keanu was a good fit for this role. I know a lot of people complain that he feels shoehorned in, and that there's rumors his inclusion messed with the development cycle (which I don't think is true), but it's hard for me to imagine anyone else filling that voice. At one point they hinted at "resurrecting" David Bowie for the role, which would've been awesome, but I don't know how well it would've played out

Also there is literally a trailer where person who somewhat resembles Jackie dies in a Delamain car after the Heist . And it released one year prior Keanu reveal and it's the first trailer in years. So at maximum they changed the model for Johnny and not like rewrite the whole story from the scratch thing...

The Temperance ending. That's the one where V gives up his/her body to Johnny instead of dying or going into cyberspace. V obviously dies in that one but Johnny basically takes the control of the body. The lore past that is that is Johnny alters V's appearance to look like himself or if its Valerie he changes her into a guy.
The ending where he doesn’t fight for the body is so sad. The male VA of V carried it, the shaking of his voice when he asked Johnny to fight back was amazing
480 hours in. This is the stuff of legends. All I can say is... I am glad I played the entire game and story on launch week with no spoilers. I am 70% through the game again, and already want to go back to the beginning to re-live it all.
It's not that they're not done well. It's that you don't get enough time with them to really care for some of them. For example, Jackie. You know him for an entirety of 30-40mins in the game. That's way too little time to connect with a character. It's supposed to be a role playing game. But, V already knows so many people and characters from even before the story starts that it feels like you're just peeking into the life of someone else. At least that's how I feel. You might feel different and others might have a completely different take.

To this day I’m still impressed how much work keanu an idris done for their roles, unlike a lot of a “big actor” roles in games where they really only have about 5 minutes worth

It's so funny how savage Keanu is in the game, the man is amazing, I love how he puts his all into his roles, makes you kinda forget he's still Keanu, and you believe he's John Wick, he's Neo, he's Johnny. The man is incredible

They really went the extra fuckin mile with Johnny's dialogue. If you talk to Karim too early in the game about Samurai's bootlegs and early gigs and ask Johnny what happened he'll tell you "ask him about this 'I ain't your fuckin sidekick V'!" And in here he freely tells you what happened cause you're bros by then
Bit weird how he can be so bitter and toxic most of the time and then also pull off chill fun stuff like this.
You'd expect him to be too pessimistic about everything to find anything funny.
Given that his time with V might be described as "watching a kinda interactive braindance with a sensory delay", it's not that hard: Johnny is a personification of a typical Twitch chat.
It also does say that they will become like each other, so if you show kind moments making you v a kind character Johnny will have chill fun moments but still hold his moments of a complete douche, same way that V can have moments where he’s just a complete dick
Speaking as a pessimist just because you have a negative outlook on life doesn’t mean you can’t joke about it. Theirs pessimism and then theirs being depressed. If anything the fact that everything sucks and the world is shit gives you more excuse than most people ever have to mock everything

Johnny being a pulp narrator for that one mission and that one mission only SERIOUSLY helped to ingratiate myself with him. When Pepe finished talking about his situation and I started to walk out, I was thinking about how this reminded me of something out of L. A. Noire when he spoke aloud EXACTLY what I was thinking. Absolutely hysterical. 😂

One of the core reasons I can never hate or get bored of this game is V and Johnny's comradery
There should be some dialog lines where V calls Johnny: "Johnny Boy", the same way Smasher did right before blowing his arm, just to mess with him a little
