  • 💶This is how much we spent one month living in a van with our dog.
🛒Groceries - supermarkets in Italy are not much more expensive than in Romania, this is how much we spend regularly at home as well in a month.
🛜 Internet - This covers the cost of an Italian SIM card (WIND) and our UK phone bill (we have unlimited roaming data)
🅿️Parking - In Italy there are various “Area Sosta Camper” - designated parking areas for campers by the municipality These generally cost about €10 per day. You can refill your water tanks here and drop the gray water - some places have electricity as well.
In Tuscany this is the most convenient way to be close to town.
⚡️Electricity - our van configuration is fully electric (solar panels). As the days got shorter, every few days we had to stop at an electric car charging station to refill the batteries.
🚐Road tax - If you ever travelled by car through Italy, you know that road tax on the highway is very expensive - this is because the highways are managed by private companies. Every kilometer costs €0.07 to drive.
🍱Eating Out - During this month we spent more on eating out, as we travelled across Italy and we went to a restaurant at least once a week, can’t say no to the delicious foods in Tuscany!
🍷Activities - this one was wine tasting.
🥨Snacks - this covers the occasional croissant and stuff like that.
How does €2343 sounds for 2 people and a dog? Drop your thoughts in the comments👇

😆😆 Nah. Just have of the month spent in the Dolomites area, which is more expensive. Also ate lot of cheese which is more expensive. To be honest, we spend something similar back home in Romania monthly. Not sure where you live?

@@roamaniacs I'm in the UK. I spend around £250 alone so £500 would be the equivalent of 2 people.

@@PurplePerinaiseGood for you if you manage to keep your grocery expenses low.
We spent more than £500 even when we lived in London..
Not sure though if this is a debatable topic, when it comes to food choices it’s probably personal preference. And then of course, being in a foreign country will
probably make buy stuff out of curiosity or buy more of the stuff that is not available where you live ☺️

Maybe it is not clear enough that this was not spent just living in our home town in a van. These are expenses while travelling in a campervan in Italy. Explained it in the comments that we were eating out once a week for this reason ☺️ Grocery expenses were lower the next month when we were in Sicily and supermarkets are slightly cheaper.
