Nice! Just bought the same motor a week ago. I was using a PWM for another trolling motor and it did make my battery last longer. I got the Minn Kota because it has the PWM or Digital Maximizer built into it. I haven't tried it yet but I'm expecting it to help the battery life.
I have a 90AH deep cycle lead battery. So far yesterday I cruised at various speeds and came back with 1/2 battery - 3.5 hours...today 3 hours and 1/2 battery. I would say count on 4-5 with a "good" battery. Not awesome but enough for me.
Got mine exactly 2 years ago, use only weekends on a calm lake, just used last week no problem, just left the dock and Nothing! Paddled back , battery good i put my old motor on to test. I only hear a faint click when I have it in gear and touch the battery with the wires but no spin at all forward or reverse, any clue?
Hi Joe, can you rotate the direction of the handle 180° ? I'd like to mount it on the front of a canoe. I know there are bow mount troll motors but most are foot pedal controled and I like the price, thrust, & simplicity of this model. Thanks for Your Time: Shawn
Its a 36" shaft, the 55 is a great improvement but still...dont expect to go skiing behind it...LOL. The best feature is the stepless speed adjustment...I can "dial it in" and just crawl along a bank and never touch the speed to adjust. Really nice.
What do you guys have? Any good battery tips?

Nice 👍
Yes it does
I believe those numbers are percentage of full power. More gradual than clicks.
thx
How long You think The battery would last out on the water Joe?

@@capitolbassfishing turns out it was a brush that magically got hung up and wasn't contacting anymore
Awesome review. Any word on the battery efficiency? Just bought one today, and haven’t had a chance to take it out yet.
so far so good the continuous variable speed, the best!

Yes you can! Bolt on the shaft under the head unit
do you think you could put a transducer on this trolling motor?
I dont think...it has a large rudder fin on the bottom of it...
Jus picked up a bass raider.. gonna put the xi3 motorguide from the kayak on it.. once u go spot lock u never go bck
Oh man I envy you!!
how long of a charge do you get
not exactly sure...I fish for four hours a pop and never need more juice so I havent really tested the extreme
I have the same boat. What is the shaft length? I currently have 30lb Minn kota with 24in shaft and it doesn't do the job
