I honestly thought Stoner Guy was going to say "elves". Weirdly disappointed about the geese. 😢
Loved this !!! 😂❤😮
That was fun Andie. Thanks 🙂👍
Thanks for this wonderful documentary of your hitchhiking in Iceland. Your stories reminded me of hitching from Scotland to London via Wales - a long time ago. I wouldn't do it nowadays.
Thank you for the story time❤
Loved listening to your travels around Iceland. How long did it take you to learn to speak Icelandic to a good standard?
🇨🇦🙋Great video Andie! We enjoyed it. We saw someone standing at a stoplight in a red dress and said that is Andie's lady! Turned out to be a friend😂
Looking forward to more stories.
This was great! I especially loved your trip with the two monolingual guys, getting a full travelogue (probably) in a language you didn't yet understand. I 've been to Iceland three times, and I know how spectacular the scenery is; who needs a common language?!
Thank you for sharing your stories about hitchhiking around Iceland and so glad to hear that you had some positive experiences that ended up leading you to living there :) It's grreat to know it's a safe country to hitchhike in - not something I would do here in the US :)
Loved your roadkill story. As you know, we have lots of rural parts in America, especially the Pacific Northwest, and it is not uncommon to hit little animals on the road, although usually not intentionally. Some of them can be quite tasty!
I had a similar experience to your fog experience only mine occurred in western Iceland. we were driving the Ring Road north of Borgarnes, past Bifrost headed towards Hvammstangi. It had been an intermittently rainy day, but when we got to that area, we were surrounded by a fog where we could not see, as you said, a meter in front of us. Of course we slowed down and crawled along until we got out of it. But it seemed very eerie to hit that pocket. This was the end of August 2022. By the time we got to Blonduos, it was overcast and spitting rain. You are so right about the variable nature of Icelandic weather!
This should be a book! This past spring while traveling North in Iceland we passed a hitchhiker who was disappointed we didn't pick him up and I eventually felt bad after my first instinct cleared my brain. In Texas, this would be the start of a news story, not in a good way! The biggest reason we went to Iceland was to relax our nervous system because we are always in survival mode and just needed a break from high crime. In retrospect I feel bad for the frustrated hitchhiker. Your stories give me hope for humanity. Thank you for sharing!
I said it before & I'll say it again, these hitchhiking stories deserve a book of their own. I think the lady in the red dress was one of the Hidden People. 🧝♀🧝Thanks for doing this. It was awesome!
