It is not necessary But it will be beneficial for u if you put your OS in SSD as boot time of your laptop will decrease and your device becomes faster and 1 more thing keep heavy software in SSD so that they can also boot fast and keep hdd as secondary storage device for photos and videos

I had the same issue. First go to control panel>computer management>disk management and see if your ssd is showing there. If not, u should check with another sata and power cable to see if sata is good. If its still not showing u have a faulty ssd. If its showing then change the ssd from unallocated to active. Then clone go to bios boot menu and set boot config to 1st boot ssd. In my case even that didn't work. After so much google i found that new cloned windows 10 was corrupt because some of the files which was actively used will not copy to ssd. So i used easeus backup toolkit and cloned windows once again. That app told me - cannot clone some data which is currently in use.please download windowsPe to clone windows in bootloader--- and when i click yes it automatically downloaded windowsPe and then restarted and cloned my windows and loaded correctly.. I told this step by step because it took 6 hours for me to find an exact fit. This would save someone a lot of time

Goto file manager and Right click that hdd drive and click on format, then select it into NTFS and Tick quick format and press okk then ur drive will get formatted and all data will be erased in that hdd

After moving the os unplug all other hdd or ssd for once and boot then replug the hdds
Just change the booting option from hdd to ssd in BIOS settings and that way it should do.
