I love this song! With Ian's smooth singing and Jimmy's scatting, and then later Jimmy come in with power and that absolutely beautiful voice. Just gets you in the mood. This song was released after their first breakup (they've reformed to do concerts). Their last tour as a band was in 1983, and this was released in 1984.
Good to see you reviewing the official video clips of Cold Chisel........I love this sweet studio sound of theirs and Jimmy using a lot of his sweet rock voice.......BUT !!! The live performances are very different and even better.. ....much heavier, rockier and Jimmy's legendary granite crushing voice with his " Aretha " soul soul voice used when backing Ian Moss's leed vocals.
It's a small, little, inconsequential song and it's in my top 5 Chisel songs! They a few of these "smaller" songs, which ended up being HUGE. "Janelle" is another one, from The Last Stand concert is FIRE.
This was filmed in the hey day of Sydney's King's Cross. Real footage of the wee hours after Saturday night on the streets. 'The Cross' was filled with Strip Clubs, Drag Shows, Hookers, drugs and more. As Saturday night turns into Sunday morning they show the grungier side with beggars, people hawking to get late comers into seedy clubs etc. The underbelly of most big cities in the '70's and early '80's.
Just subscribed to your channel, loved the way you listened to the song right thru and then reacted, lots of love from Di from Australia, love Cold Chisel
Back then I wasn’t a fan; I mostly liked US artists coast to coast and from the past and Paul Kelly was my only interest locally. But I saw a doco recently on the band and this song in particular stood out for me - it was a live version - so it was better and it did take me back to the feel of the late 70’s. It is a bit too simple a song that to have resonance for anyone who wasn’t there then. So I think your reaction Honi was quite gracious. I do like Jimmy Barnes now though - the old Jimmy that’s put down the bottle and switched right on and is an even more amazing singer.
Hey hey fucknnn hey 😂lol its ya goofy m8te from Australia..love ya reactions..[ cold chisel - you got nothing I want music video ] now now now go go go lol 😆 ya goofy m8te from Australia
One of my favourite Cold Chisel songs. Love how Mossys voice is so smooth and then you get Jimmy Barnes coming in with his phenomenal power and range

It’s a lovely wee song, they sing so well together.
Man, this one always takes me right there. Sweartagods I can smell those streets when I hear this song.
Great reaction, thanks. Before Cold Chisel there was Little River Band. You might enjoy them as well. Chisel rule though!

You're not the first person to shake their head to Jimmy's vocal power and you won't be the last.
