Hello Friends, beautiful star stitch. Most baby blankets are 36 to 40 inches (36 x 36, 40x40, etc.) Your starting chain will depend on the weight of yarn and size you desire. Ex. Aprox 120 chains for weight 3 (Baby yarn). The pattern calls for an even number + 1 (so I'm going to try chaining 121, size 4mm hook, and baby yarn). Use hook recommended on your yarn label. Gook luck!🎉❤

This is a great design - I was really struggling with this one pattern I'd gotten and had been working with for over a year (couldn't figure out why it wasn't working!! oh well...), and wanted something nice and simple that I could focus on... this worked perfectly!! Not only is it pleasing to look at, it's also easy to work up, and is so fluffy and soft! Thank you for sharing this :D

So we were making 6 loops to form a star, but on its third loop, I wonder why we have to go through the back stitch and not the front? It's a bit tight and difficult to push the hook in. Will it matter if I take the front instead?

Im late to the party, but I got you. So I think you start with a chain of 6 and just add 2 until you reach your desired length. Stick with even numbers 😊 just don't forget to add the extra stitch at the start~ I hope this helps. 🙏

I'm starting off with 121 chains with a 3.55 mm crochet hook. I have 3 bunches acrylic yarn each measuring 141 g.

How much yarn do you need for this baby blanket? Also, what size crochet hook do you need? I am so much of a new person to this I don't have anything yes so I want to know what I need to get. Some of my family think that crocheting could help my fingers as my hands tend to cramp up. So I would like to give this a try.
