Hey Phil! I'm not sure if you remember me, but I used to watch your vlogs back in the early, early days (I used my actual name, Hamish Wyse back then so maybe that might ring a bell?). Unfortunately, I went through a bit of a stagnant phase over the past couple of years with my interest in trains, which is why I haven't been around here for so long, but now, I've refound my interest in trains, so I'm probably gonna be watching your videos more often now. It's so happy to see how much your channel has grown over last 6 years or so, really shows your devotion to the channel! But yeah, idk if you'll even see this seeing how many comments you're getting nowadays but just thought I'd let you know that I'm back somewhat in this community and maybe will be commenting on some future videos!
Your right I didn’t mention that some emus can still operate Ferny grove line just that new generation rolling stock need their issues with the line fixed or not
Yes I was referring to the railway platforms design in the railway stations for Ferny grove line for the new generation rolling stock electric multiple units
@@ethanstrainvlogs9430 U sure? There's at least 18.3K other people that are subscribed and probably say the same. I have been watching Phil since 2013 and finally I made an account late last year. to do the same as him. Not saying I am his number one fan
One time I crossed the harbour bridge in a bus to north Sydney and a little bit near the centre of the bridge I was on the closest lane near the tracks and an A set Waratah came out of no where I got such the fright Lol
There is a guard, but Brisbane decided in 1978 (most likely for air conditioning reasons) that passengers should open the doors so that if the doors don't need to be opened, then they can stay shut.
@@pwhnckexstflajizdryvombqug9042 I don't really like that idea, especially in current times with covid, and even if the doors arent open there is a constant beep in the cabin when the train is stopped at a station.
As someone who has extensively used brisbane, sydney and melbournes rail systems. The buttons are good and more systems that aren't busiest throughout the whole route, much better. Keep in mind that outside of peak hour, some of the doors on a ferny grove service may not be opened at all. On some weekend services, only 4 doors may be used at all
@@YellowYT Our trains have recently had stickers applied to the doors (except NGRs, where an ad runs instead) that ask customers to push the button using their elbow. As someone who only uses vestibule seats I don't believe the button beeps are a problem. They cut out after one minute, anyway.
NGR's aren't running on the Ferny Grove/Beenleigh lines yet. I believe the excessive curvature of Gaythorne's platform is one of the reasons why (as the guards at the end of the train can't see the whole platform posing many safety issues).
SMU Cars are against the Qld disability laws, the laws were changed when the LNP anti-disabled party came in to power under Campbell Newman, that is why you notice how the newer trains do not have doors that are wide enough for wheelchairs to fit through
All Suburban rollingstock in QR, apart from most doors on ICE Sets are wheelchair accessible. If you're referring to NGRs not being used on Ferny Grove line it's because of clearance & infrastructure issues on certain stations of the line
these queensland vlogs have been a good break from the sydney ones :)
awesome vids phil :D
can you do Woodrige
Indian railway biggest railway yard

Wow all SMU's seen here. Wasn't expecting no EMU's on this video as they are a little common on the Ferny Grove line.
Because NGRS can’t operate on the Ferny grove line is due to the design so the EMUS has been replaced by SMUS and IMUS to operate this line
@@Sjwilliams07 no idea of that NGR comment, but EMU's are still an extremely common sight on the Ferny Grove line

I remember when Grovely only had the single track. Seen a couple serious accidents as well.
When you come back to Sydney do a vlog a oak flats around 4:00
Ethans Train vlogs theres nothing really at 4:00. Theres freight trains the go through there between 11:30 and 12:00 and 1:30-2:00
Phil's been back in Sydney for around 2 weeks now and he is no longer accepting requests.
I am his number 1 fan

Beautiful video first comment 😍

I Love SMU212’s Winding Up Noise.
Edit: Great Shot Of The 220 Gliding Into The Platform.
I have a question, why do people manually have to press the door open button? Is there no train guard?

Odd how not 1 of the trains are the new generation rolling stock

I’m Glad That It’s The Case.
Isn’t Oxford Park’s Platform Also Too Small To Fit The NGR Trains.
Nice work

Ferny
Ferny Grove.
Nice one Phil ;)
reminds me of the hurstbridge line in melbourne
Hagaga hursty line ma bra

You got proof for that? None of the SMU 200s or 220s have particularly tiny doors.
Can you please do Aberdeen?????
Watching news that has only politics/crime, these vlogs are relaxing.
Do a tour of the disused Lismore railway station and talk about the casino to murwillumbah line
Nice Video
Also I was wondering if you would let me use a few clips from around Melbourne for history videos
I’ll credit you
Thanks
Noice.
