Thank you for this. I'm in the process of dropping weight and honestly. I had to reflect a lot, because I achieved the majority of the things I wanted, and I still wasn't happy. Being in the military is the only thing I can think of that has any potential of changing my life that I haven't scratched off my list. I'm okay with being a team player, because it's about the journey. But at the same time knowing my options is nice.
Jody I love the videos. I watched all your videos from before I joined and now I’m almost a year in and love it man. You were a huge factor in my decision keep doing the good work!
Wonderful video. Moved to my #1 of your videos since, I been following you. This is a great guide & clarification on the process through the eyes of a parent. Love that your wife brought it to your attention. I know it will be helpful to all parties. Continued blessings to you & your family.
My wife and I appreciate your content so much. Your speaking style really resonated with my own personal story. I just took the ASVAB and scored a 79. I graduated in 2010 and haven’t been in school since. You’ve cleared up so many misconceptions about the Air Force. I can’t wait to enlist and usher my family into stability and discipline.
When i first went to the recruiter office, I told them I wanted a cyber job and they pretty much told me to kick rocks and that I need to be open to options. So i went to another recruiter and told them I wanted Cyber as my top pick, but wanted an IT/intel role that’s similar, so they were willing to work with me Ended up getting an 85on my ASVAB and got to list everything down since I had been studying to get good line scores as well. Ended up landing a Network Operations role. Note: I already had 3-4 years of IT experience up to this point, so he felt I would be a good candidate
That’s fair. When you come to the table with experience and certs, you have more bargaining power than a typical applicant. Glad it worked out for you.
Great video but don't agree with this one. I'm retired AD and went in Open Admin. Got stuck with 1C0X2 (pilot babysitter) where you basically count up their flying hours. Not thrilling. Came to the end of my first term and wanted to cross train but the job I wanted didn't' have openings. Was told if I re-upped, I could reapply. What no one told me was the difference between a first term and a "career" airman and once you're "career" you have to wait for your current specialty to be in an overage to be considered. In the next 16 years, I submitted 13 cross training applications to include 8 special duty assignments and the only one that got approved was Recruiter where I lasted 1 week in the tech school before I decided it wasn't for me and got sent back to my old job. So loved the AF, hated my job and wish I new how to navigate the system earlier.
The Army is the ONLY branch that will guarantee you the job you select. If it’s available and you qualify the job is yours. The best time to enlist is SEP 15 when all jobs are available and loaded. GOLDEN NUGGETS.
Air National Guard is actually more flexible than Active Duty if they have the job. I had the chance to pick a list of jobs and had the chance to shadow each job. I ended up picking Nondestructive Inspection, which is basically like CSI for aircraft. Also, while you're waiting for you student flight. For most of my student flight I spent it shadowing my job, studying stuff for BMT, and usually PT at the end of the day. You will be more prepared than those that went through DEP. This is actually a good thing, since the more stuff you know before BMT, the less you will be stressed out. For some reason ANG is the best secret in the Air Force. When I was in BMT very few people new Air National Guard existed. Also, it's a great choice if you are not quite sure if you want too fully commit to active-duty Air Force. You serve one weekend out of the month and two weeks a year, with a minimum contract of 6 years. Some states don't have Guard, but you can join in another state.
Jody you never miss. I told my recruiter get my any job available it didn’t matter to me because I’m in it for the long run, and I kept messaging him every week. I annoyed him to the point he got me a job less than a month after I gave my job list😂. Really have to show them you want in!
The thumbnails keep getting better 😂 Thank you so much for your videos Jody, I first met with my recruiter back in April, and now I am leaving on Feb 18th after such a long wait. 🎉
Hey Jody! I watched your videos since i was probably 16. Now im 18 and shipping out February 25th for an aircrew job! Thanks for the info and help you posted for us all! ❤
That’s crazy. A 4N with a 94 ASVAB. You’re extremely lucky and should show extra gratitude to that recruiter. Good luck at basic and on your journey. 🤙🏽
I'm 26, have been in the enlistment process for 6 months now. I had a DWI on my record, from when I was 19. I had an interview with and got a moral waiver approved by the Flight Chief for that. Yay. In March of 2024 I went to rehab for alcohol of my own accord for my own betterment. I've been sober 10 months and 15 days as of this comment. I then needed a medical waiver for my rehab stay. This waiver was denied as I was told by my recruiter the general rule is one year after something like that to consider me. Now I must wait until April 2025 to resubmit the waiver for hopeful approval. I scored a 75 on the ASVAB with 70 or above in every section. I was told to assist my waiver approval process, that I should accept any job I am given. Of course I have a preference, but with average scores across the board and waivers being considered, what do I do? With the hope my waiver is approved and I am allowed to better my life in the air Force, do I take what I am given and be grateful?
When recruiters are working waivers, that means you are not qualified to join. They’re waiving the standard for you, and it requires a lot more work on the recruiters and their leadership. They’ve basically scratched your back. Now it’s your turn to scratch theirs. They’re going to be expecting you to meet the Air Force and basically take any job they throw your way. If you’re not willing to do this, I wouldn’t bother starting the process. But I would tell you to think about your current situation. Is it better than what your life will be, or what you aspire it to be by joining the Air Force. If not, then a job should never out weigh the change your life will have.
Plus she never mentioned if she’s medically cleared by MEPS(medical entry processing station) be open minded when joining the Air Force you won’t regret it.
@@Jodywithawhy absolutely, she got lucky her recruiter talked jobs prior to meps. That conversation happens after knowing you’re qualified and the other portion is conduct quality control to see if you meet the minimum career field standards. Remember, go to your local recruiter with a goal and an open mind!
I agree with most of what you said, but I was one of the ones that waited on my job to open up. I went to school full time, worked as a middle school coach and at a grocery store to pass the time. (6 months) Hit 19 in May!
My advice, DO NOT choose a mechanical job unless you have prior experience as a mechanic and or if you like it. I chose aircraft maintenance as my job with no prior mechanical experience and it is a nightmare because of it. I don’t regret joining the air force but my AFSC is a living hell. I can’t wait to cross train. Choose your AFSC wisely and choose a job you know you will be good at.
PDG advisor. It’s the most helpful resource out there. I took the practice tests over and over until I scored above a 90% on each section. When I finally went to take the test, it had a lot of the same exact questions PDG advisor had, like word for word. It took me about 3 months of studying, but when I went I was highly prepared. mcmguides.com/AirForce/products
What I don’t like is that I scored well enough for jobs that required a top secret clearance but because of a waiver I had to do I didn’t qualify for those jobs that were on my list
My nephew got scammed by his recruiter he was told that he will be able to do computers and his Airforce recruiter gave him something he didn't want but he been sticking with it. He been in 6 years now.
Love your videos!! Can you make a video about cross training, when to do it and how to do it, and retaken asvab, ect. Plz and thank you for helping us!!
I love your videos and inspired and reinforced my decision on joining the Air Force I ship out next week (jan 21st for general aptitude) hopefully there is good jobs to choose from when I’m in basic. Scored 78 in general area
I scored an 87. I want fire protection as my job, not some other mechanical job. I’m 6’5 220 in great shape & my scores are good. I’ll wait for fire protection if I have to.
You’ll be waiting a long time and there’s no guarantee you’d ever get that job. Most recruiters wouldn’t let you swear into their DEP if you’re hard set on fire fighter. This is not a good plan. 🤷🏽♂️
Do you have a fire 1 or 2 cert. If you do, you need to take them to your recruiter. They can really help you secure that job. If not, you’re fighting just like everyone else.
Not a scam, but it’s certainly not for everybody. The Airforce’s job selection process is the reason why I only considered the Coast Guard, with the Navy as a backup. I knew I wanted to do something with electronics or cyber. I had no interest in mechanical jobs, and no shade but security forces sounds like it sucks. Didn’t make sense for me to put myself in a position where I might have to take one of those jobs. It was an unnecessary gamble.
Lol I made a list of 10 and got my #9; 4 of those were jobs out of the critical fields list. I was dying for Ground or Airborne Linguist, ended up with 1N4X2, shipping Feb 4th. Not mad at all, its still a great job! You have to remember that the Air Force is paying you while you go... Its an opportunity. If you want an absolutely perfect scenario where you get to pick everything... go to college!
@@Angel-uj3bk Im fresh out of high school; there's no other organization I know of that is willing to: Feed me, House me, Pay me to train, pay for a TS clearance for me, give me specialized training while paying me, and overall just give me an opportunity like this without having to go into debt. Plus 1N4 is still very close to what I wanted, im now realizing that not having to go to DLI is probably a blessing.
Only reason I got the job I wanted was because I applied during my Junior year of high school and was placed in a special program (forgot what it was called) which had a different job pool and improved my chances of getting the job I wanted. I also am lucky enough to have a great recruiter. I highly recommend that if you are considering joining that you apply sooner rather then later and try and get into that program.
I’m currently waiting for my job (hopefully in the next couple days) but I’m joining for a job but I’m open to what the airforce needs and I want them to give me a reset into a better fitting and more successful field while also paying for my education. Looking to do 20 yrs so I can retire in time to be with my family more when they’ll need me most. Willing to serve the USAF so they can give me what im looking for in return.
Morning Jodie! Thank you for this video. I must say I’m in a strange position in my process. I’m in DEP. and it looks like my number 1 job could very well be on the table for me. But uniquely enough I’m having second thoughts about the position (PA as E3) because I fear it has a low promotion rate and that I’m missing out on learning a new skill that’s transferable into civilian job market.. I was also given a bad vibes from my recruiter because despite him knowing I hav two degrees he never asked for my transcripts and I had gone to meps and all without him asking which I signed my contract into DEP as an E1 which really pissed my family off. Eventually I brought this to him myself and he does have my official transcript. So with that being said I’m just in my head a little about whether or not the recruiter is at the least valuing what I’m bringing into the service. With an 88 score I qualify for lots. So yea any wisdom from you at this juncture would be awesome. I don’t wanna just move to pursuing the navy. But that is a possibility I’ve started to entertain. But of course I’m sticking with my first intentions for now. 🙏🏾🙏🏾 thank you for your time.
If I could do my career over again, I would’ve tried to do PA. But that’s my preference. As far as job opportunities on the outside, the training does transfer but I’m not sure the pay. That being said, you learn some very valuable skills so I wouldn’t be too regretful on that career. As far as your rank, the recruiter should have asked for your transcripts because they need them to get you a contract with E-3. If for some reason the recruiter doesn’t, I wouldn’t stress too much. Just take a copy of your official transcripts with you to basic, and there’s an opportunity there to have everything changed.
this is hilarious, I walked in wanting security forces and was booked for Admin 😂 Long story short I went Operations Specialist in the Navy, I am happy.
To cut to the chase, generally yes! Most recruiters have a quota and are not concerned with your interests only the needs of the military and their paycheck. Don’t let them swindle you. They tried to tell me I have to go to any job that they want me to go to because I need a waiver. No problem, ask to see where in writing it says that and they will cave.
I’d ask you to show me where it says in writing I have to do your waiver. And there actually is writing that says “Quality and the good of the Air Force must be the overriding factor in the submission and approval of moral waivers.” So if you don’t present yourself as quality, meaning willing to meet the Air Force needs, good luck finding a recruiter willing to work you.
@ I’d ask you if it’s your job to obtain recruits, and if the answer is yes, I’d imagine that in order to get more recruits, a recruiter should take into account what the applicant wants to do in the military regardless of a waiver. Where one recruiter will not do his job, another who is a soldier at heart will. And I do have a recruiter who has stepped up. As a matter of fact, I have commented on several videos attempting to ask you questions to no avail
I’m busy man. I try my best but answer comments, but I can’t get them all. On a post day, I definitely try harder. My job is not to put airmen in the Air Force. It used to be, but not anymore. Now I’m just giving game. You’re honestly taking advantage of your recruiter. You’re not qualified to join. The recruiter is giving you an exception to join whatever the reason. He’s already scratched your back, now it’s time to scratch his. You need to show him how grateful you are for the opportunity, not cause more issues by demanding that you get your number 1 job pick too. You’re not showing commitment to the Air Force or the process. It’s not about you, it’s about the Air Force and the good of the United States.
@ I got him Johnnie walker blue, i’m not at all taking advantage of him. I have a very particular situation that he is just helping me with. I have made no demands from him yet however, that doesn’t mean I don’t think that a recruiter should not try their best to meet the needs of their applicant, these are people’s futures here
Yes and they will ensure your future is very well taken care of through the lifestyle and benefits you get. You take advantage of the benefits, and you can transform your life. It doesn’t matter about the job. Stop getting hung up on the job man. It’s really not as impossible you think.
I'm in delayed entry right now for all source intelligence. I scored a 98 on the asvab and my recruiter said that she will work with the flight master to get me into intel with my brain. hopefully it works 😢
Yes. Unless you’re trying to become a pilot, chaplain, nurse or doctor, engineer, lawyer or any other rated or technical officer position. If you’re just trying to become a non rated officer, you’ll meet the Air Force needs.
I am kind of in the same situation but my asvab score was a 89, but all they are offering me are mechanical even though I qualify for 98% of the jobs. Am I getting scammed?
I’m joining the army… and even then they don’t assure you that you will get your number 1 pick. I want 46s and it’s a highly competitive job, I qualify for it. And I will be told in MEPS if there’s anything available.
I know a few people who waited for their jobs to open up. I know they waited long and didn’t get kicked out of DEP. But I guess different strokes for different folks. Lol.
I disagree with this advice. Make sure you get the job you desire or else you will be miserable. you will be committed to it for the next 4yrs. Can’t easily quit like a civilian job.
I really want to be a respiratory care practitioner. I’ve done two and a half years of nursing school. I scored M83, A69, G84, E84. I go to MEPS for processing next week. Should I have high hopes of getting a job like Medical Tech or Respiratory care practitioner? Or should I keep my mind open to working on planes or ATC?
It is indeed a scam, if you put MX or Security forces anywhere on your list trust you’re getting it lmfao. At the same time understand that most jobs are taken up by those who refuse to leave the AF or are doing it until retirement. Another thing to understand is that you’ll always be under the air forces needs and every recruiter is different some require you to list critical jobs some don’t.
You’re right about some recruiters do and some don’t. Most recruiters make you list Air Force needs and should. Some recruiters don’t, but they end up paying for it so they eventually do.
I wanted to ask if it’s rude to go ask another recruiter the same questions. Here is why: Having Security + and other certs, while a very good Asvab score, my recruiter said I would not qualify for the I.T/cyber Job on the basis I was not a U.S Citizen. But military helps me with citizenship and after basic id be a U.S Citizen. He said that because I was not a Citizen from the get go, I assume when you sign the contract, that I couldn’t pick that job. Do you or anyone have any insight on that Jody? Thanks!
Yes. The recruiter is correct. They cannot put you into a job which has sensitive information (regardless of your certifications) unless you have a US citizenship. After you join, you’ll most likely get your citizenship after basic training. What I’d recommend is join, and take your certifications to basic training with you. There’s a part of basic training when you got to Classifications. This is when you sit down with someone about your job. I’d present the certifications to them, and ask because you’ll have your citizenship after basic, could you qualify and switch into a different career field. It’s a reach, and highly improbable, but it’ll be your only shot. If it doesn’t work out this way, you’d have to wait until your cross train eligible (13 months from the end of your contract) to switch.
Hey Jody. Just had a question and hopefully you see this. So I chose my top 10 jobs and submitted it to my recruiter, and they got back to me telling me that not all of them are available and to add more jobs. Only the jobs he wants me to pick I don’t really want to do. Would it be better to hold out for one of the available jobs that I chose or add more?
Serious question: what is a more difficult job; security forces, or working at a warehouse as a civilian which I am currently working as? Technically I just pick heavy boxes all day. Is security forces a heavy labor job? Thank you
Not heavy labor, but a demanding job. It requires your full attention at all times, and can be intense at times. Some people love it, some people can’t stand it. I think it really all depends on person.
Currently in the medical process waiting for waivers. High hopes for 2025 got multiple jobs on my list I want but ofc I want a main one which is SERE. Hoping the MAC goes fast and gets all the ducks in a row to get the waivers soon

He has a technical degree which will allow him to apply for a technical officer role. He will basically be able to pick his job because he has a specific education the Air Force needs.
Radiology specialist falls under the medical career fields, so there’s not many opportunities. The Electrical Power Production job isn’t highly sought after, but it’s also not heavily needed for the Air Force, so the opportunities are slim.
Oh no. No one will send you for that. Recruiters send people to MEPS to swear in, not dip their toes in the water. Just know that before you start your process. 🤙🏽
It’s not, but if you have any previous experience or certifications, you can use that to request the job under a competency booking. These are bookings for people who are highly qualified or skilled for a specific job.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
My recruiter made me list 5 jobs, and I have Electrical & Environmental Systems as my top 1. I’ve done my research, but from your perspective, how is it? What was it like? What do you do in a daily basis? And just your overall opinion.
If you type in on google “air force electrical and environmental systems reddit” you will see 7+ reddit links that talks about other peoples perspectives
Can you give me some perspective on why recruiters are unwilling to work with me as prior service army reserve? They won’t even set up a meeting with me. One told me “the chances of getting back in are slim to none for all branches”. Yet, I have a friend who got in contact with a recruiter and they helped him immediately with no push back. I’m really interested and have an honorable discharge.
Also, I was a mechanic when I was previously in. But I have my associates in surgical tech and will be going to nursing school soon. The recruiter didn’t even mention the 36% body fat requirement he just told me I have to meet height and weight before he can let me speak to anyone.
It’s tough getting prior service back in. There’s very very limited spots, but the work is way harder than a normal recruit. So most recruiters don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze. You just gotta keep searching. I’d recommend calling around multiple offices until someone works you.
Here’s a link breaking down how to do the special warfare process. And you can just google AFWIN and it’ll pop up as the Air Force Work Interest Navigator. ruclips.net/video/fwHqFv8RC6s/видео.htmlsi=vkByRrhrZtTvLlSg
@ please type IFT followed by Air Force. As well there are other qualifications that need to be met prior you able to land a SERE contract. Cheers and go talk to your local recruiter

Happens to the best of us. I think that job really just depends on the member and what they like. I hear some people say they love it, but a majority of people don’t really care for it.
don't enlist in most military forces, unless you need to (homeless or don't have much family help).
Keep going. Hopefully you can check this off and start your new life. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
@Jodywithawhy I hope so too, thank you for your service.👊
Jody I love the videos. I watched all your videos from before I joined and now I’m almost a year in and love it man. You were a huge factor in my decision keep doing the good work!
That’s awesome. I’m glad I was able to help and you still support. 💪🏽
Ayeee. I’m glad I could help and I’m resonated man. Means a lot. I’m wishing you and your family good luck as you move along this journey. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Absolutely, got 84 asvab and crammed into maintenance 😅
When i first went to the recruiter office, I told them I wanted a cyber job and they pretty much told me to kick rocks and that I need to be open to options.
So i went to another recruiter and told them I wanted Cyber as my top pick, but wanted an IT/intel role that’s similar, so they were willing to work with me
Ended up getting an 85on my ASVAB and got to list everything down since I had been studying to get good line scores as well.
This is so true. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽. Thanks for the share.
The thumbnails keep getting better 😂
Thank you so much for your videos Jody, I first met with my recruiter back in April, and now I am leaving on Feb 18th after such a long wait. 🎉
Ayeeee. Congrats and thanks for the continued support. Good luck at basic and on the journey. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I can definitely relate to having several jobs but wanting stability, discipline and to get away!! 😮💨
That “oh I’m cooking”, I agree brother!
Hey Jody! I watched your videos since i was probably 16. Now im 18 and shipping out February 25th for an aircrew job! Thanks for the info and help you posted for us all! ❤
Ayeee. Big congrats and thanks for the continued support. I’m wishing you good luck on the journey. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Good video. I’ve noticed that a lot of people aren’t sure how the job process works. (Turned in my list today)
Yep. Hopefully this will educated them prior to walking in an office.
I scored 94, and my recruiter never pushed towards anything, I got my first choice 4N031, and now I'm leaving for BMT on January 28th
You got this 💪💪
That’s crazy. A 4N with a 94 ASVAB. You’re extremely lucky and should show extra gratitude to that recruiter. Good luck at basic and on your journey. 🤙🏽
Study tips?
@Jodywithawhy I don't get it, my score wasn't high enough or is too high?
@averygotit0128 Honestly, I didn't study for the ASVAB
I would take what you're given based off stipulation that you listed with the waviers and record.
Definitely. There’s a lot more to her story, but overall, it was definitely worth a reaction.
(6 months)
Hit 19 in May!
Ohhh that hits home in regards to maintainers being the most in need jobs in the AF especially being a C-17 crew chief in training myself.
I scored a 93. I only have a semester of college left so I’m banking on something stable and lucrative when I get through MEPS.
Excellent how you broke it all down. The military has some incredible opportunities. Like alot of your viewers, Veteran here, and would do it again.
Appreciate the support. I’ll be coming to my end in 2026. Then I’ll be a vet myself. 🤙🏽
Hey Jody, awesome video per usual.. you think you can release a video on proper ways to study for staff? Like tips ?
PDG advisor. It’s the most helpful resource out there. I took the practice tests over and over until I scored above a 90% on each section. When I finally went to take the test, it had a lot of the same exact questions PDG advisor had, like word for word. It took me about 3 months of studying, but when I went I was highly prepared. mcmguides.com/AirForce/products
@ i appreciate you so much!! Wish me luck!
just join the army (pain)
What I don’t like is that I scored well enough for jobs that required a top secret clearance but because of a waiver I had to do I didn’t qualify for those jobs that were on my list
Yep. That’s how it was when I first joined. But then after I completed my first contract, I cross trained into a top secret job. It’s possible
This is old but it’s still effective. Hope it helps. ruclips.net/video/88oVyciP0yE/видео.htmlsi=QD8E4JldYZo2TNZX
Hey make a video about the new military raises in pay
I’m working on it. 🤙🏽
I love your videos and inspired and reinforced my decision on joining the Air Force I ship out next week (jan 21st for general aptitude) hopefully there is good jobs to choose from when I’m in basic. Scored 78 in general area
I’m wishing you good luck on the journey and the job. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I scored pretty good on the ASVAB. I got Advanced Avionics as my job. It was not my first pick, but I am still glad I got it.
@ I’m open for maybe 7 other jobs but that’s by far my number 1 & I already have college credits for it. So I want to continue in that career field.
Do you have a fire 1 or 2 cert. If you do, you need to take them to your recruiter. They can really help you secure that job. If not, you’re fighting just like everyone else.
@@Jodywithawhy I know I have 1 of those 2 & I also have hazmat.
@jpb7558 yes. Definitely take them to your recruiter and ask if they can do a competency booking. This will definitely better your chances.
Makes sense, but if I was dying for a job I’m not wasting years of my contract doing something I don’t want to do😅
@@Angel-uj3bk Im fresh out of high school; there's no other organization I know of that is willing to: Feed me, House me, Pay me to train, pay for a TS clearance for me, give me specialized training while paying me, and overall just give me an opportunity like this without having to go into debt.
Plus 1N4 is still very close to what I wanted, im now realizing that not having to go to DLI is probably a blessing.
My recruiter just came back and I’m hoping I am selected for something I would be best suited for instead of what they just need.
You’re talking about the soft book program aka the ambassadors program. This is an effective to pick the job you want most. 🤙🏽
That’s awesome and exact what the Air Force is looking for. Good on you and good luck on your journey. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Bring your transcripts to you at BMT, that way even if your recruiter does mess up they’ll still give you the E3 rank you deserve
@@JasthePhilo don’t panic an ALL DEP contracts are e1 and 4y. And as mentioned transcripts are required to validate the education you claim to have.
I just met my recruiter SSgt George Amezquita in Utah today. And i mentioned you. He said you were his trainer. haha!
That career play some tests on the Air Force website doesn't work I've tried to take it three separate times now
I settled for special mission aircraft maintenance and I ship out in April. I plan on cross training into cybersecurity.
Settled?? That’s a great job. You’ll probably feel very lucky once you start. 🤙🏽
this is hilarious, I walked in wanting security forces and was booked for Admin 😂 Long story short I went Operations Specialist in the Navy, I am happy.
It's about what they need nit what what you want.
Not everyone can be a Load Master, a
Admin or medical.
She can join the Army and be a cook.
They have quotas and billets that they have to fill.
Hey Jody, what about for those of us looking into commissioned roles? Does the title of this video also apply there, too?
Do a video on how to pass aavab and also help on how someone can choose a jon
I’ve made a couple videos on how to pass. This one might help most. ruclips.net/video/I-2NLvZ3PyE/видео.htmlsi=H1Ox8RdK4BsCTNmg
Is it safe to assume that the jobs that are offering bonuses are the jobs the Air Force needs?
I’m joining the army… and even then they don’t assure you that you will get your number 1 pick. I want 46s and it’s a highly competitive job, I qualify for it. And I will be told in MEPS if there’s anything available.
Yeah, but atleast when you go to MEPS with the Army you can get it guaranteed in your contract. Unlike AF lol
You don’t have to join the Air Force. You get to.
100% volunteer force.
I also have over 25 college credits, would this mean after basic, I would start out as a E-2?
Yep. 20-44 credits gets you E-2. 45 and beyond gets you E-3.
Realistically only join the airforce if you wanna do something aircraft/aircrew, IT/Intel, maintenance, or electrical. Lol
I wanted to ask if it’s rude to go ask another recruiter the same questions.
Here is why:
Having Security + and other certs, while a very good Asvab score, my recruiter said I would not qualify for the I.T/cyber Job on the basis I was not a U.S Citizen.
Are you a AirForce Recruiter? Am I allowed to work with a recruiter out of state rather than the ones near me?
Serious question: what is a more difficult job; security forces, or working at a warehouse as a civilian which I am currently working as? Technically I just pick heavy boxes all day. Is security forces a heavy labor job? Thank you
Not heavy labor, but a demanding job. It requires your full attention at all times, and can be intense at times. Some people love it, some people can’t stand it. I think it really all depends on person.
How can I get a cyber security job?
Haven’t been to Meps yet but i took my asvab and scored pretty high especially in electronics im hoping i can get any cyber security job
It’s possible but those jobs are highly competitive. So just know that when listing jobs. Good luck. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Currently in the medical process waiting for waivers. High hopes for 2025 got multiple jobs on my list I want but ofc I want a main one which is SERE. Hoping the MAC goes fast and gets all the ducks in a row to get the waivers soon
Special warfare is different from the normal jobs. You actually can pick that job if you’re qualified. I made a video breaking it down if you haven’t watched it already. ruclips.net/video/fwHqFv8RC6s/видео.htmlsi=vkByRrhrZtTvLlSg
If get through selection (and not wash out to Security Forces which, is what happens to all SW candidates…) then get SERE I’ll see you here at Fairchild!
How about getting in with a masters degree in Aerospace engineering???
You should consider the space force
@ actually it is my grandson who has the degree. I believe he is strongly considering just that. Thanks for the suggestion.
He has a technical degree which will allow him to apply for a technical officer role. He will basically be able to pick his job because he has a specific education the Air Force needs.
How is electrical production like lineman or radiology specialist I figure radiology is prolly sought after
Radiology specialist falls under the medical career fields, so there’s not many opportunities. The Electrical Power Production job isn’t highly sought after, but it’s also not heavily needed for the Air Force, so the opportunities are slim.
Curious ... I'm looking to get meps medical & asvab done but not get into dep .. to see if I quality ?
Oh no. No one will send you for that. Recruiters send people to MEPS to swear in, not dip their toes in the water. Just know that before you start your process. 🤙🏽
Hey Jody do I have to take the asvsb twice because I took it last week and next week I go to meps, would I have to take it again at meps?
No. You’ll just use the scores from when you first took it. Unless those scores are unusable, there would be no need.
Hey Jody, do you know if Paralegal is a highly sought after MOS? Thanks!
It’s not, but if you have any previous experience or certifications, you can use that to request the job under a competency booking. These are bookings for people who are highly qualified or skilled for a specific job.
@@Jodywithawhy Thank you!
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
if you haven't, can u make a vid for people out of college who want to enlist? (if you have can someone send me a link)
I can. It’ll probably take some time, but I can. 🤙🏽
@@JodywithawhyI really appreciate the honesty! Thank you for putting out great info.
Hey Jody, how would one go about wanting to become a SERE specialist
Also can you link the AFWIN
Here’s a link breaking down how to do the special warfare process. And you can just google AFWIN and it’ll pop up as the Air Force Work Interest Navigator. ruclips.net/video/fwHqFv8RC6s/видео.htmlsi=vkByRrhrZtTvLlSg
Remember, are you over IFT standards?
@ please elaborate
@ please type IFT followed by Air Force. As well there are other qualifications that need to be met prior you able to land a SERE contract. Cheers and go talk to your local recruiter
My #1 is Biomedical Equipment. Hopefully I am able to secure that spot
Oof. I’m wishing good luck, but that job is pretty rare. Not trying to kill hopes, but just giving probability.

The truth is bitter.
Not always easy to digest, but needs to be known.

This channel would be a lot more useful without all the long winded analogies, over the top personality, and being more specific with offering alternatives to getting what we want from enlistment.
🤷🏽♂️
I was able to pick any job i wanted. Unfortunately i chose the worst one. Security Forces. Lol!!
Happens to the best of us. I think that job really just depends on the member and what they like. I hear some people say they love it, but a majority of people don’t really care for it.
@Jodywithawhy it really wasn't that bad...just boring.
don't enlist in most military forces, unless you need to (homeless or don't have much family help). Go to college( community and public if it expensive for you) and if you still have the military itch commission as an officer after college. Recruiters are liars, find military officers in service or retired to mentor you.
Bad advice but whatevs 🤷🏽♂️
