I built this is Skyblock 1:18 - so I didn't have to spawn proof the area - because there was pretty much nothing else there (just lower half slabs on the towers). But I made a simple but critical error, I was not getting Wither Skeletons into the kill chamber and I could not go back up as the spawn area was crowded. I did eventually go back up (very difficult) and discovered I had placed the trapdoor on the wrong side of the drop, I had placed it without thinking on the Piglin side and the Wither Skeletons were blocking the drop by standing on the bit of trapdoor. As soon as I changed it to the opposite side - it worked great. So just a warning to others (it may be I am the only one stupid enough to think the trapdoor works in any orientation), it matters which side the trapdoor is.
I really appreciate the explanations of how it works. I've done follow-along style guides to building a farm and thought I understood well enough how it worked to do things a bit differently only to have it not work because of some mechanic I didn't understand.

I know this is from a while ago, but you can make a dark room spawner that only spawns creepers, just make it a normal 2 high spawn area, and then put trapdoors upsidedown on the ceiling. Is the level 2 farm still the fastest wither skeleton without the need for perimeter Or can I upgrade it i use carpet mod Is there any way to use carpet bots for increased rates
Hello I have some questions:) So could I technically use a combination of 1 pair of crossroads and another pair of crossroads if they are close enough to each other (4 crossroads total? But would too many spawning spaces (space where only the wither skeleton can spawn) be detrimental for spawns? Basically, can you have too many spawning spaces?
So, you can't have too many spawning spaces, but the balance is to control the mobs lifetime once they spawn. More spawning spaces increases the chance that a successful spawn will occur. And if you can still get the mobs removed from the mobcap or killed in a timely manner so they don't fill the mobcap, then it will increase rates. The mobcap is usually the issue when transporting mobs from separate spawning areas.
@@Stromne Okay, thank you so much!:) One additionel question tho, the extended platform with pressure plates is to encourage pack spawning, but in your design it is 9 wide from the netherrack and other designs I have looked at only has 5, is there a reason for this?
@@anders3781 The maximum size of the spawning skirt for most mobs is 20 blocks because each pack spawn can move up to 5 blocks. So you can go as far as 20 on the spawnging skirts, but the further out you go, the less pack spawns will actually reach. So i only went out 9 because after that there wasn't much extra return.

in the first farm can i change the spawning platform from nether bricks to netherrack and place wither roses on it? wouldnt that make it so that only withers spawn and i wouldnt have to worry about despawning of slimes and blazes, since i play on a server and the despawning system is different there
The first cicular design puts the edgse of the spawning platform outside the crossroads bounding box, so those would need to be nether brick. But if you change it to a square inside the crossroads, yes, that would work and restrict spawning to withers skellys
I built and designed a wither skeleton farm similar to level 1 but with portals for no spawn proofing and I get over 5000 bones and 3000 skulls per hour but only 32 skulls per hour is it just my crappy luck or am I doing something wrong

My recommendation would be drop some gold on the ground and get the piglins in boats. If you do it at a higher y level then the farm, you can make a bridge out of netherrack or whatever blocks. Then you can boat them over while wearing gold armor

@@Stromne Okay cool, thank! Great Video btw, one of the best explanations of wither skeletons I have found on the internet!
great video!
Should there be an air space around the spawning skirt, or is it ok to have everything walled in?
Good job my friend
theres a farm that 137500 skulls per hour but that requires update suppressed wither roses and sliced portals
Is there a way to farm all of the mobs in version 1? Including the blazes and magma cubes. I really like it.
Is there a full tutorial or sum on the second farm?
There is a world download in the video description
@@Stromne Ok then. Btw I just found you and I absolutely love your content, keep up the good work mate
What are those mods you're using to go to spectator and autoclick at the same time? Nicely explained btw :p
FreeCam is part of the Tweakeroo mod by Masady
@@Stromne Tysm!
works. thanks
i don't understand how to even start building the farm, blazes keep almost killing me and i can't figure out the nether fortress boundaries. not to mention my piglins despawning because i don't want to use a name tag on them in case of the piglin dying
Sometimes, you need to sacrifice
what are those shaders at the intro?
what is the difference between the item sorters with the redstone block and without
Does the height map thing still matter in 1.19 ?
Yes, height map is unaffected in 1.19
Great video, What's the mod to show the spawn area for wither ?
The bounding boxes is minihud by masady and the carpet spawning is in carpet mod by gnembon
Not me watching this entire video and listening to every bit of the information but at the same time not understanding just about anything lol
Hey, i dont have any faith that you'll reply but, may i ask why the storage system for the level 2 wither skeleton is kind of busted when it comes to sorting, ive noticed after building it that after a few minutes the filter just straight up let every item in even though it was only set for coal or bone (the skulls sorter doest have a problem) and it ends up taking my filter on this case the 4 emeralds i used, and thats about it, ill try fixing it my self but asking you may be worth trying
does this still work in 1.21
i really liked ur video :)
Hey I'll try to build design no 2 but my server wouldn't give me permission to build on bedrock so i cant break it will it still work if im not breaking any bedrock?
Sorry for my bad english😅
@Stromne, hey i build the #3 design and its working perfectly, but am having problems with the portals, of the 8 portals only 4 of them teleport me to the same location, but the other 4 dont, for example portal #5 and 6 teleport me 177 blocks away and portal #7 and 8 teleport me almost the same distance or even 200 blocks away, how do i link the 8 portals to the same location?
are there any step by step tutorials available for the second level of farm?
Is the level 2 farm still the fastest wither skeleton without the need for perimeter
Or can I upgrade it i use carpet mod
Is there any way to use carpet bots for increased rates
Can you replace the nether bricks in version one with netherrack with witherroses on it to get only witerskeletons to spawn ?
@@anders3781 hey man at xbox 360 edition do you think version 1 will work
For second farm, if you in soul sand valley isn't torch enough for spawnproofing outside fortress?
Not for ghasts
To all idiots like me: if you try to open any kind of 1.18+ world in an earlier version, you will get a completely different world and 0 builds, lol
Like, it is pretty damn obvious with how big of a change there was, but here I am. But the farms will work in earlier versions, there is no build limit depending mechanics.
In the third design what is the reason for the spawn proofed rings around the spawning platforms?
He explained it in the wither skeleton spawning mechanics. If it tries to spawn a wither skelton on the spawn proofed platform it can move the spawn into an spawnable block. So you can get more wither skeletons. 8:10
DO YOU HAVE THE ACCURATE farm construction #2
What you want to do with 700 beacons??
Flex in server
You can also make a perimiter by farm 2 right?
really great viedeo. thanks for your efforts in making this, really appreciate it. I wanted to ask if ,at 7.10 min, the block placing guide is part of the minihud or carpet mod or if it is a separate thing. if separated could you say were it is from? thanks for your time and Have a nice day.
The pink carpet showing spawning is from carpet mod rule /carpet carpets = true
@@Stromne I ment were you place a block diagonally without a temporary block. As you do it there is an overlay over the existing block with four "compartments" for the directions where you can click.

@@Stromne thank you.
Still works in 1.20.1
Who needs 2500 a hour jeez haha good job buddy
do all of these designs work on multiplayer?
and are they server friendly?
They all work on vanilla servers, no guarantee about modded or paper, but they should work on paper
will this farm work if the two crossroad bounding boxes are not right next to each other?
@Stromne
Is there a guide on the wither sorting system build in Version 2?
yeah i think that sorting system is broken in 1.19.3 build in my surival it break constatly and in the download aswell also chest allignment is off when pushing items on ice
@@MariusNinjai I built it with the same piston based sorting system and the 4th module alongs piston keeps spitting out its block, no idea why this could be happening other than just a glitch
Would going to the nether roof and sending the skeletons there with minecarts decrease the ammount of spawn proofing?
ruclips.net/video/w4n2me3HYZY/видео.html
Good video!!
Thank you for the video. I have no idea how you squeezed the two hopper mine carts in together in video one. I can see you used fence posts to hold them, but for the life of me I cannot get hopper mine carts to squeeze together.
Put down a fence and then 2 rails. On the other side of the rail (opposite the fence) put a solid block. The put one hopper minecart on each rail, they will spread over the 2.3 blocks on their own
@@Stromne Thank you - my whole farm is somehow wrong and I need to re-check every part of it. I will find the problem.
@@Stromne I'm having the same issue, nothing is going into the chest on the far right and the carts didn't align themselves as they are in your video/world save.
Funcionara aún en la 1.19.60?? ,Buen video
0:23 i'll take this one please, thank you 😂
lol
Is basalt biome is good for farm #1?
Do you need skirts it every layer? it was my understanding that pack spawns are vertical so you would only need one skirt, am i missing something?
wiskes can't start a pack spawn in air, only on nether brick outside the inner structures
Ohh, i was missing something. So wither skeletons are an exception to the mob pack spawning rule. Also i saw you used pressure plates, do slabs work as well? or does the 2.5 block height prevent the pack spawn?@@Stromne
in the first farm can i change the spawning platform from nether bricks to netherrack and place wither roses on it? wouldnt that make it so that only withers spawn and i wouldnt have to worry about despawning of slimes and blazes, since i play on a server and the despawning system is different there
The first cicular design puts the edgse of the spawning platform outside the crossroads bounding box, so those would need to be nether brick. But if you change it to a square inside the crossroads, yes, that would work and restrict spawning to withers skellys
Nice video
King! Thanks
I built and designed a wither skeleton farm similar to level 1 but with portals for no spawn proofing and I get over 5000 bones and 3000 skulls per hour but only 32 skulls per hour is it just my crappy luck or am I doing something wrong
Hello! Do you by chance know how to make snow on top of the opened trapdoor as i have try a lot of ways by using update suppression and it didnt work D:
can you replace the piglin with a iron golem, I want to try and avoid piglins if I can.
I guess I can use the first design and combine it with the second?
where can i watch the full building tutorial video?
How well do these farms perform on servers?
Do you think you do the first method in a warpped forest? Nice vid btw
You could, you just need to spend days spawn-proofing.
@@danni4780 what you call spawnproofing a warped forest I would call harvesting a biome, lol😂
any tips on luring the piglin? i cant find one nearby and i dont know how to get one there. Thanks!
My recommendation would be drop some gold on the ground and get the piglins in boats. If you do it at a higher y level then the farm, you can make a bridge out of netherrack or whatever blocks. Then you can boat them over while wearing gold armor
You need to also spawn proof the nether wart
When i build version 3 in 1.17.1 singleplayer. I could give up the looting and use the wither skeletons to chunkload everything and use entity cramming to kill them right?
skulls are only a player-kill drop. But if you just want coal and bones, cramming would work
7:40 the total spawn zone for any block
does this still work in 1.18.3?
For the 2nd farm what's the maximum distance between 2 crossroads?
0 distance, they have to be touching. However, this design allows for any fortress to raise rates without breaking bedrock: ruclips.net/video/w4n2me3HYZY/видео.html
just wondering which of these are useable in a server i think the server im on is on spigot
In second design Is it worth it to Have 3 layers?
Yes, each layer is 1/3 the spawning spaces for only 1/16 the height map
Does anyone know if with the first design you can replace the spawning platform with wither roses to stop other mobs from spawning?
Is there a way to see fortress bounding boxes on servers where the serverside part to minihud is not installed but you have the seed?
just make a singleplayer world using the same seed and use it there
The skeletons aren’t spawning on the nether rack for me, any ideas?
Sometimes my auto storage sorters for version 2 don't work, the iron nuggets sometimes go into the chest so the filter breaks but the rest of the filters still work fine. Also sometimes the bone/coal goes down to 39 or even lower when it should stay on 40. Anyone know why this happens?
Probably because you play on a server
