    Loved the new feature where you can create your own custom templates for Loop - it was about time! And indeed, now we only need to be able to create custom templates that we can use across multiple workspaces. I'm starting out on using Loop for personal projects so I would definitely love to see more Loop videos on project management and new features.

    I agree with the guy at the end. That was great. I did not end up truly learning something new, and still watched to the end because your explanation was quick paced, well composed and insightful. You got me invested enough to keep watching, hoping for a nugget of knowledge that slipped past me on the topic of Loop.
    Personally I found one thing a missed opportunity, not mentioning planner when discussing the task list. It's the least logic part of the notes in loop so far as it breaks the 'one stop shop' concept of planner in teams. Otherwische, I totally agree. In client meetings it is 100% a piece of absolute gold. Microsoft smashed it out of the ballpark lately, and so did you with this presentation.

      Thanks so much for the comment!
      Planner is definitely a big topic with project management, so much so that we broke it out into another video here, if you haven't seen it: ruclips.net/video/E3H_SFPWiA8/видео.html.
      It's still evolving and we're still trying to nail down our best practices here. You're right I definitely could have mentioned that!

      @@BulbDigital Thanks I looked at that one too. (Still looking for that nugget :D, but hey at least I got confirmation I'm not lagging behind because MS is moving fast lately).
      I just provided feedback to what in my view was the only area in which I think the explanation was not 100% well rounded (still 90% though :p)
      Also small part of information from another project manager:
      - Although you cannot share Loop with external clients, you can 100% share them with internal clients. It just so happens I work in a type of organization (federal government) where there is a hierarchy of organizations within the same o365 setup. This means that when I use the Notes in a teams-meeting all of my clients have access to them.
      Unfortunatly that is most relevant to my own situation, but as a PM it is still HUGELY usefull just for your internal clients :)
      (I'm guessing you already knew the internal part but hey, sharing is caring ^^ )
      keep up the great content!

    So loop and Planner (and Project and Tasks and...) still don't work together? Kind of looks like Notion or Confluence. We use Confluence and tasks in JIRA with their huge ecosystem of addins.

      Huh, that is odd! This is a feature that's publicly available, so it should work in both desktop and online versions. You can always click the "Help & feedback" button through the 3 dots at the top right and "report a problem."

    Can you explain content ownership for Loop? It seems to me that everything in Loop is tied to a singular M365 account (Like someone's OneDrive or M365 portal). For a collaboration tool, this seems counterintuitive particularly if the content owner leaves the company. I have also heard that moving Loop content (components or pages) to SharePoint or Teams, which is where I think they should live, breaks things?
    Do I understand this correctly?

    • @BulbDigital
      @BulbDigital  Месяц назад

      I think you will find more luck finding documentation about this if you look for Loop Storage instead of ownership. The short version is that all Loop data is stored in SharePoint/OneDrive. Much like meeting recordings, Loop components are stored in users OneDrive if they are created in Teams Chats, Outlook messages, or standard meetings. Loop Components are stored in the SharePoint site associated to a Team if the component is created in a Channel or Channel Meeting. If you create Loop Workspaces/Pages you are actually working with a "headless" version of SharePoint (the new name is SharePoint Embedded). This means the data is still in SharePoint, but you can't really interact with it outside of the Loop App. I am not 100% sure what happens when you convert something in the Loop App to a Loop Component.
      I would check out this page for more details:
      learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/loop/loop-compliance-summary?view=o365-worldwide#loop-storage
      and this page for details about storage quota and what happens when a user leaves

    Big problem, if you accidentally delete a workspace it is unrecoverable. I won’t be using it anymore until that is fixed.

    • @BulbDigital
      @BulbDigital  2 месяца назад +2

      This is something I'm looking forward to as well.
      There is a "Recycle bin" feature within workspaces now which makes me feel a lot better about being able to recover pages. And there is a "permanently delete" warning when deleting a Workspace, but I agree a recycle bin at the Workspace level is a Wishlist item!

    Thanks, Emma, for the very nice video.... I have started using loop for my meeting notes now. I have a series of meetings over the year say about 30 meetings and when I add each one to a workspace then I need to toggle between meetings. At some point it may become difficult to toggle between these meetings with separate agenda but common follow-up tasks which may need some updates during each meeting. Can I create an automatic link to follow-up tasks added to the entire series so that I don't have to go back again and toggle between meetings to view the progress. what I mean is having multiple Agenda pages containing and common link to the follow-up tasks. is it currently doable.

    • @BulbDigital
      @BulbDigital  21 день назад +1

      This is a great question. My understanding, is that you're asking if there is a way to see follow-up tasks that are on multiple different meeting note pages all in one place. This is doable, by making a task list a "loop component" and copying and pasting that component onto the new notes page and adding to the tasks from there. This loop component will update everywhere it is pasted and continue to be live and up-to-date. If all of these task lists already exist, there is not an easy way that I know of, to consolidate a bunch of individual task lists into one, without copying and pasting all of the tasks. Hope this helps!

    I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere so hoping you may know! When adding the meeting notes to a workspace manually, do the people that have access to the notes page end up with full access to the workspace? and vice versa? Those not in the meeting but in the workspace, can they now see the notes? I've looked through the MS guides and there is very little on permissions and access for Loop so this would be super helpful if you know!

    • @BulbDigital
      @BulbDigital  Месяц назад +1

      This is a great question! My understanding is attendees can only access Teams "meeting notes" through Teams in the "Recap" tab. If they click view in browser, they're taken to a unique Loop page created just for those notes. From what I know, attendees aren't automatically granted access to view the page within the workspace. It's important to note, adding the page to a workspace doesn't "move" the notes page to your workspace, it essentially 'links" the original unique loop page to the workspace only. Agreed, it has been confusing understanding how page access works - so I hope this helps!

  • @rodds5569

    Been testing the new Planner and Loop integration. The Loop side with Task Lists is not fully baked, imho. I can create the Task List, and while I can access them on the Planner side, subsequent updates to the Task List on the Loop side (mostly) fail to update the (pinned loop) in Planner. Also, while I can easily go to Planner from Loop to view the Loop Task List in Kan Ban board format, I would like to have the same Planner type views within the Task List. A workaround I discovered is to create a Plan in Planner, copy its url to the Loop Page. That seems to work as expected.

    • @BulbDigital
      @BulbDigital  Месяц назад

      Yes, I agree it's not fully baked yet. I've come across the syncing issue as well, but typically a page refresh does the trick, it is frustrating it doesn't automatically update though. That sounds like a great troubleshooting tip! Thanks for sharing.

    • @rodds5569
      @rodds5569 Месяц назад +1

      @@BulbDigital In my experience a simple page refresh doesn't work much of the time. There is more than one type of sync problem that I am seeing. I'd only recommend creating Task List in Loop if it is paramount to have that list style of presentation and one is not relying on the Planner side to manage any of those tasks. Otherwise, I'd recommend creating the Plan in Planner first, then paste the URL into Loop - no issues so far. I have not tested sharing the Loop Component in Outlook to see if the sync issues w Task List is there too vs how Planner Plan (as a Loop Component) syncs.

    • @rodds5569
      @rodds5569 Месяц назад +1

      @@BulbDigital Just discovered another issue. If one wants to use Loop Components in Outlook, the New Outlook is required. Problem is, that New Outlook doesn't (yet) support offline mode - this is a critical Outlook feature for our organization currently (yes, I know live-update in Loop wouldn't work then, but it should have some syncing function once back online). Seems like Loop in Outlook may be an important threshold capability for adoption. Puts Loop rollout into question.

    Thank you Emma, great content! 🙏
    Is a Loop exclusively owned by its creator, or can it be associated with a group or a SharePoint site?
    One thing that I am confused/worried about, is what happens to a Loop workspace (or even a Teams for that matter) when the original creator is no longer available.

    • @BulbDigital
      @BulbDigital  Месяц назад +1

      This is an excellent question and concern. Loop has both "shared workspaces" and "personal workspaces." In the case of Loop "shared workspaces," these will continue to exist even if someone leaves the company, as they are backed by a roster. However, if the original creator of the shared workspace is the person who left the company, then others can't delete the workspace. On the "personal workspace" side, these are actually also backed by a roster, but there's only one person in them by design. When a user leaves a company, their personal workspaces become "ownerless." But an Admin could retrieve those, if needed, since they are not deleted. TL;DR Loop is not exclusively owned by its creator.
