celeste matthews she got the lead before he joined. The original managers didn’t believe in the group without Beyoncé in it and as lead, hence him being able to become apart of it. His daughter was the one people were starting to see as the star of the group. It’s not her fault that people want to see and hear her most. Sthe Zwane soprano means she sings the high part of the harmony. For example if you listen to say my name, on the third line of the chorus LeToya comes in and sings “if no one is around you say baby I love you if you ain’t running game” you hear her on top of everyone else. That’s a soprano.
Jermaphobic thank u 😊. I thank God they went solo cuz when I revisit their first and second albums. I can make out each artist. But Beyoncé’s voice for me dominates most songs. And I think for a non fan , they would think some songs are sung by Beyoncé when it’s a group
LaTavia is a Lyric Mezzo-Soprano, she is of the lower class, her voice is thick, warm, extraordinary dark, & clear. Her sound is womanly, & well projected, her stability is developed & well controlled allowing her to maintain sound throughout. Her lower register made up the 2nd Alto Harmonies
LeToya is a Light-Lyric Soprano her crystal-shattering ultra high voice is girly, bright, & youthful. Among the four she is the highest, & extremely distinctive, she could have honestly soloed more because her voice was excellent, & blossoming. She sung 1st&2nd Soprano Harmonies
Beyonce is a Coloratura Mezzo-Soprano, her voice is golden, clear, robust, & agile. It is her knowledge, technique, & execution that deemed her Lead Vocalist, because she really knew each part of her voice well, she has the commercial sound, that is a crowd pleaser, & she sung 1st Alto Harmonies, but mastered the other 3 Choral Chairs as well.
Kelly Rowland is a Lyric Mezzo-Soprano, her voice is buttery, thick, & sultry. Her voice is reminiscent of Beyonce's in the mid-region, but her voice is slightly more sensual, & warmer when executed properly. As Soprano though her voice is airy & very clear, she is well trained. She sung 2nd Soprano Harmonies, & 1st Alto occassionally

I don't think Kelly sounds like Beyonce at all. Her voice is and has always been distinctly different and for her to be a lyric mezzo soprano with a high airy tone it's actually extremely strong for her vocal type. Most singers with her type are extremely weak vocally. As far as Beyonce is concerned her colatura has developed but it's still not as strong and deep as it. Can be. She has technique to her singing which helps her sound good. She also has sounds added to give her I strumentals lift and what you hear when she performs may or may not be her vocal ability. I have always thought Beyonce belts sounds more like screaming. She belts but it's an edge of tone and hitting a note instead of centering in the middle. It literally hurts my ears to hear her belt.

This song would be perfect for opening a 5-member Destiny's Child comeback. Each of the 4 original members would get their parts in the verses: LaTavia would open the song, LeToya with the 1st pre-chorus, Beyoncé with the 2nd part, Kelly with the 2nd pre-chorus and Michelle would take the bridge from Kelly.
I think Michelle should take Kelly’s first part. I think Kelly’s voice would suit the second one better.
On the first one where Kelly harmonizes with herself Michelle can take the lower end and Kelly can come in hitting the higher part too.

AND LaTavia was originally a dancer, not LeToya. LeToya and Beyonce were friends and were both at the same vocal school and were auditioning for plays and they couldn't choose so she B would do one night and Toya would do another. LeToya could always sing and always was a singer. smh @ yall missinfo. I actually like this song; it has a 90s groove. When the group started, visually LaTavia was my fave. I liked LeToya too. Beyoncé took awhile to grow on me, but, I will say this. She's talented and a hard-worker, despite what anyone has to say. She has the most stage presence. They all have great personalities, including Michelle, but, Beyoncé commands the stage. She also has the ability to take a generic song and make it pop. This song would definitely be 90s friendly, but, not on the radio 📻 today. Can't wait 😊 for a #DC5 reunion. I have it all set up in my head!

I mean even the rest of the unreleased stuff is just Bey and mildly Kelly, then this song which is unlike ANY DESTINY'S CHILD SONG comes along. This song has the same feeling that Britney Spears Sometimes has. It’s that classic 90s bubble gum music. Very catchy simple & relatable. Conveys a ton while saying very little but what is said is delivered beautifully.

This is magic. Literally the only song that’s ever surfaced with all of the members singing a lead part. Yes, Bey was their lead, rightfully so, but it truly sucks we never got these moments where they all sang a lead part. Obviously, they were all capable. I’d bet they’d stayed together for years to come.

It's a shame that this is the only song where all four members of the original group sing equal leads. It really makes me made because you an clearly hear LeToya and LaTavia got talent. Seeing as that's the case, I don't think it would've been so hard as to allow them to sing lead on a few of the tracks instead of having Beyonce and Kelly dominate. Even if the songs were never to be released as singles, it would've been fine but if they did, I wouldn't complain.
This and The Only Gift by NSYNC share that odd distinction. They're not main title tracks, they're just special tracks for their hometown/fans, respectively.
They're not all singing equal leads. Although they all get solo parts in this song, Beyonce and Kelly got more parts since Kelly had two repeat verses and Beyonce sang not only a verse but over the chorus.
