- An unreleased song from their 1998 debut album *Destiny's Child*, this song was recorded in 1997. The song was reportedly not considered for the final track-listing due to comments by Tina Lawson (Beyoncé's mother), about its overly mature and sensual sound. It was written by Vincent Herbert, Mark Wilson, Calvin Gaines and Mary Brown; and was produced by Vincent Herbert (who also produced You're The Only One - a bonus track from the album - and co-produced No No No, Part I).
They needs to stop playing and give us a DC5 and unreleased songs compilation
Totally! Easy way to please fans and make money for them!
There will never be a DC5. Beyoncé and Kelly will never be in business with the other two ever again no matter how cool they are with them.
@@redzoom7857 kicks rocks you jealous you miserable wig
@@redzoom7857 They probably won’t haft to do much negotiating tho right? since it’ll just be a compilation album or “deluxe” full of unreleased records.
Tina was playing because the album opener “Second Nature” is very sensual and the lyrics of “With Me” 😭.This should’ve been a bonus track cuz this is hot!
haha i agree, this definitely should have had a place on their debut! it could have easily replaced 'birthday', which is my least favourite song from that album 😬 (please don't hate me!)
@@parisianvisions i actually agree with this and i love Birthday but that one is too fillerish and mature
Apparently it was apart of the original track listing. Not sure why it was removed.
@@jlcareyjrI heard it’s because Tina said it was “too grown” even though No, No, No Part 1, Birthday, and Second Nature were on the album.
@@toastdude1587it was because most of the album was recorded under Elektra. It was replaced with songs they recorded under Columbia.
Love the vibe of the song.. definitely a grown sound for them back in 1997..
Tina said what??? Has she not heard "With Me" ??? Because a bad performing unfulfilling woman drives a man away 😂
This makes me miss the 90s. Definitely should have been released. Would have been a banger!
Kelly's voice is still the same today 💛
That DC4 HARMONY was tight and right!
Kelly really came strong on that second verse. Why they didn’t let the others sing will always be irritating to me smh
I was just about to listen this and its remix in my iTunes but I decided to come to RUclips first and then... boom! This video appears on my front page.
I read on a blog that this song was on an early version/promo cassette for the album released towards the end of 1997 along with Show Me aka Before I Let You Go but the the person couldn't find anymore info regarding this and why they were removed from the tracklist. They believed it was an official release because the catalogue number for the cassette and CD were they same or something like that.
I'm surprised Ms. Tina had that much power to get that song off the album. I would have used these two tracks in place of With Me Part II and Tell Me. Birthday is actually one of my favourites.
ooh that reminds me, i must upload the remix! and you're correct, this was originally featured on early pressings of the album while the album was still titled "bridges", however it was ultimately left off once the girls were granted more studio time to work with jermaine dupri, wyclef jean and mark morales, as their songs were favored. tina probably had the power she did because of mathew - and how can you dismiss "tell me"? i love that songggg 😩
@@parisianvisions It's the unreleased Marc Zappala remix used as promo in South America I believe. It was on SoundCloud a few years ago. I tried looking for it but the playlist seems to have since disappeared. I'm glad I had downloaded it just in case. Plus Tell Me isn't a bad song it's just not one of my top favourites. 🙂
i need a 25th anniversary deluxe with this and the rest of the unreleased songs recorded during this era and released as bonus tracks frfr
The first verse is basically like an initial version of say my name
it's literally no no no just the OG
kelly vocals🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I don’t remember this but cute picture and nice smooth song .
not the 1st verse being reworked into no no no
They look so cute here ❤️
I love the OG DC sound so much 🥹
!
It was said in David Brewer’s book (their live in vocal coach) that Tina didn’t want this one on the album because Kelly “outsang” Beyoncé smh…she was also quoted as saying to her husband Matthew “watch that black b*tch”….if this is true this is so sad because the adults sabotaged this group not the members 🤦🏽♀️
That’s stupid and ridiculous that you believe that. No one in that group could challenge Beyoncé for the lead. The proof speaks for itself. Beyoncé was always the leader on the mic and behind it, to pretend otherwise is silly.
@@redzoom7857 read the book, it says otherwise
You made that up lfmao. No chapters or pages in the book that says that blatant lie
Wow
ain’t no way this is real
