    Hey Guys, thanks for the compliments. We will be working on new webinar soon. Note: I was able to track down the problem eventually at 1:25:10 Yup, the problem was coming from the area component, I should have paid more attention to it. If you use the exact parameters like I did, you can see that the area component is not able to calculate the area of surface index 245 & 359. And thus, the area component is not able to find the centroid of that surface which result in Null value and has a cascading effect. That is why we were not able to create all the lofts next to that index as you now have a mismatch of the indices for the loft component.

    I just watched all of your webinars & loved the format with key strokes visible on the screen. Would love to see a "Best Rhino / Keyshot Settings" kind of video, giving tips about changing defaults in the option menu to make the experience better.

    How did you create that plane to split the texture? I'm trying to figure that part out. Love the webinars, this is my second one

    • @Cademy
      @Cademy  Год назад +1

      Hello Jimmy, you can create two profiles, one at the top, another at the bottom of the mouse and loft them together. Now rebuild the surface to add one more intermediate profile and modify the control points. Use this surface to split the geometry.

    Thancks for this great tuto.
    Is working on shrinked surface changes the result of trimed ones ? Is it better then acting directlycon a simply trimed surface?

    • @Cademy
      @Cademy  4 месяца назад +1

      Shrinking trimmed surfaces will not modify the shape of the surface, as long as the trimming was done on the isocurve. If you trimmed using any shape other than an isocurve, shrinking the trimmed surface will modify the trimmed boundary.

    honest question, why would any product designer use rhino exclusively? This thing is way less working steps in solidworks AND its fully parametric. Why not build the thing in solid or fusion and then use rhino just for this one surface? Import it and done?

    • @Cademy
      @Cademy  4 месяца назад +2

      Great question! While it's true that SolidWorks and Fusion 360 offer full parametric capabilities with fewer working steps for certain tasks, Rhino has its unique strengths. Firstly, Rhino is more affordable with a perpetual license, offering significant long-term savings. It excels in freeform surface modeling, providing superior control over surfaces and facilitating Class A surface modeling, which can be more challenging in SolidWorks or Fusion 360. Additionally, the integration of Rhino with Grasshopper opens up unparalleled possibilities for advanced textures and parametric modeling that might be difficult or impossible to achieve in SolidWorks or Fusion alone. And yes, a lot of our students do exactly as you mentioned. They just use Rhino + Gh to import the surface and apply texture and export it back.

    amazing webinar. I am an industrial designer and I work in the automotive industry. can I work on bike design in rhino or is It specifically suitable for small products? basically for class A surfaces for prototyping and production later?

    • @Cademy
      @Cademy  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for participating in the webinar. There are multiple parameters to evaluate if Rhino suits your needs or not. You can make class A surfaces in Rhino like any other softwares like Alias or ICEM Surf. The only difference will be how long it takes you to achieve the results. Cost is also important factor to choose a software, as Rhino is comparatively cheaper than other similar CAD softwares, it will affect you a lot if you are a small design studio or a startup. Don't forget you also get Grasshopper in the package and it opens a whole lot of possibilities that is impossible in case of Solid, Fusion or Alias etc. You can work in Nurbs, Mesh & SubD context as well.
      There are plugins for Rhino that can help in terms of creating class A surface (XNURBS) and manufacturing (RhinoCAM).

    • @Cademy

      The third texture is made using a combination of the Kangaroo plugin and Rhino solid operations. We only offer classes in English at the moment unfortunately. However, you can turn on the captions to see the voice subtitles in Zoom.

    Hello, great Webinar! I followed it step by step, but making all what you do, i also experience the same problem which you experienced throughout the Grasshopper part at 1:25:09 . Did you figure out what was the problem there so i can also understand why it isn't working? :)

    • @Cademy
      @Cademy  2 года назад

      Yup. I was able to track down the problem to one of the surface. If you use the exact parameters like I did, you can even see that the surface index 245 & 359 is creating the error in the area component. Somehow, the area component is not able to find the centroid of that surface. This you are not able to create all the lofts next to that index as you now have a mismatch of the indices for the loft component.

    How would this work on a polysurface?

    • @Cademy
      @Cademy  27 дней назад

      Applying parametric texture on polysurface is a complex challenge but possible. Depending upon the topology of the base surface, you can use different strategies. In this case, we can create a proxy surface and use it as a stencil to model the texture on the final part. If you would like to learn about polysurface texture, you can check our Parametric Texture Workshop at cademy.xyz/texture
