- Since the beginning of the Restoration, Latter-day prophets have spoken boldly against fallen and carnal aspects of our society, culture, and personal lives. The 20th century saw a rejection of many of these teachings and, in the words of Ezra Taft Benson, a lesser portion of the word was given. Are we prepared to learn of and remember these forgotten teachings?
The Nephite church also struggled with pride and prophetic rejection. Rather than a dead form of religion, Alma taught the Nephites that we must truly be born again to overcome the effects of the Fall and the natural man. After being born of the Spirit, we must be continually renewed and progressively changed until we become like Jesus Christ and receive His image in our countenance. Regeneration through the Atonement and the Spirit of the Lord is the very heart of the Gospel for active members and all others.
What have prophets taught us to change? Are we ready to accept redemption? The answers are simpler than we think!

Thank you so much for sharing this info on birth control. I have been and still stand against birth control for decades, and here our prophets talked about it decades ago. I was not aware of this because I was not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but the prophets instruction, somehow, must have reached me spiritually. I became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2012.
Keep hitting us with Knowledge and Truth this world needs more young men and women like you and your family. May Heavenly Father continue to bless you all In the Sacred name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Good examples, very valid points. The Word of Wisdom is a great one to look at. As members, we don't smoke, drink alcohol, coffee, or tea, or take recreational drugs and so we tell our bishop that we keep this law, even though there's a lot more to it than those few things. And plenty of people outside of the Church know it and mock us for it.
I even had a Sunday School teacher that claimed that a late prophet said that 'eat meat sparingly' meant no more than once a day.

I remember studying education in the Provo Library before my accident 13 years ago. I learned that in Utah originally the churches were used as schools during the week. Churches are just houses of prayers but also of learning.

If our ears hear any condemnation or judgment it is because that is the weight and the burden we likely hold on our shoulders at the moment unfortunately. You just speak the word and what we hear is on us. The guilty taketh the truth to be hard

Thank you for this episode. I have long contemplated the consequences of our blending in with the world so much, especially now when we are losing so many of our children to worldly philosophies.
Not to be a Philosrine, but when you mention "birth control", I assume you are alluding to ingested hormones -I agree. However, to not have any options for a couple when the wife can not physically or mentally endure constant pregnancy, I am grateful that even David O. McKay encouraged the members to pray for inspiration in handling these sensitive issues because total abstinance as the only recourse has bad side effects as well.

The reason we don’t hear about socialism, Marxism, communism is because many ward and stakes are full of people that believe in these tenets.

There were several narratives against plural marriage in church history. Some of those narratives have been revived from the RLDS church which failed, denounced the Book of Mormon as scripture, and was latter called the community of Christ. False prophets have arisen and presented new narratives with twisted church history and have called upon the old RLDS narrative that is conducive for there purposes of setting themselves up as prophets and denouncing the real ones. To stick to sunshine doctrines, but reject and denounce wintry doctrines for the praise of the world.
It is sad, I read these comments about loving "to be taught". I found myself " Loving to Learn"the same things Hannah teaches. If we all knew the process of conversion, we would all have pod casts. We would be looking to learn media and not the gospel.
Oh, that's right...rejection, and persecution are real.who wants that!?

the search for “what does the Prophets” teach on „xyz” topic is in my opinion a sheep attitude. I believe if I learn anything about the Book of Mormon what else it represents to me at least, I learn to become a prophet unto myself, a living path plastered with daily revelation in all of my questions I might have. But that is my transgression: I do not fully use it read it apply it daily. That is why the prophets have to speak to us about things if you ask me, are ridiculous. Our inherent problem is that we worship prophets and scripture instead of God and His Hood. For myself and my house, we want to rise above and beyond sheep that seeks council and shepherd leadership from people who address people that want to be sheep. I have always been bothered by the parable of the sheep that got lost but good flock that remained in the parish-so good that nobody went looking for the lost sheep so the shepherd had too- only to find a sheep that wanted to explore and learn with his shepherd directly all by himself. That is who I want to be.
better higher standards…? in my ward the standards of self worship and glorification and evil are so high they are too high for me. I can’t keep up with their fake friendships and fellowship pretending, Being in my ward actually harms my spiritual learning. So I learn by self study with gratitude towards self reliance.
Which after 10 years it led me back to church I had changed maybe they have too I missed so many blessings missed going to church with my mom now she's dead miss her so much
Is there hope for the Gen Z or Alpha generations?
If you go back to all the lessons she has, she gives clear advice. Teach them the history!
I don't think there's any movies or shows that meet any of these standards.
Why oh why has the church deviated from church funded school system!? We have the money...we have the resources...why do they continue to promote public schools??? We need to get out of the public school system in a BIG way and create out own school system again!
We must get the Spirit in order to know if the Prophets are speaking truth… the Holy Ghost is our guide! Jesus Christ leads this Church… not the Prophet. Confirm everything from the Holy Ghost! But first be meek and humble said the Lord.
We want to be children of God not slave children 😉
