This is one of the better pedal demos I've seen on YT: 1) Plays some rock along with blues. All too rare. 2) Has a Stratocaster with a working bridge pickup. Seriously, too many people spend 15 minutes playing through the neck pickup. 3) More playing, saving useful information for the captions. 4) Doesn't take himself too seriously. Good job! 👍
This is the video that forced me to go buy one and I have not been disappointed at all. It is such a diverse pedal. Right now I am enjoying running the level pretty high around 3 o'clock and the gain around 9 o'clock with the eq's and voicing at noon or so and it's Plexi heaven. On top of that it sounds great into an amp or PA direct. How can you beat that? I own all kinds of pedals from Joyo's to a full blown Helix and tons in between and THIS PEDAL has the best Marshall tones out of all of them. For 30 bucks!!!
I have the American set to clean/mild breakup. I have the Strymon Riverside before it. I have not played my amp for 3 months. Just perfecting tones. I can watch TV at any volume and the sound through my home hi-fi sounds like many recordings.
Best pedal I own. Blows away pedals much more expensive. And it just looks great. Love having EQ control of bass mids and treble. Makes a huge difference in tone options. Great demo and playing.
@@NicoBellisarioMusic Here's an honest opinion of your playing bro. You are good. You have more feeling and soul in your playing than alot of these other RUclips videos. Keep it up man.
I have the Joyo American Sound and the Joyo ACtone. They really put some dynamics and grit into low volume playing. I run them into a Boss Katana 50 on the clean channel. That channel is very sterile sounding by itself. However, with one, or both of the Joyo pedals fed into it, the 0.5 watt setting on the Katana is a low volume tone beast. You can stack these Joyo pedals for a hybrid (Fender/Vox/Marshall?) sound you couldn't get with any one of the 3 amps. These pedals are great for clean or dirty boost, and extensive EQ tweaking (my muddy sounding Bugera V5 amp [which has only 1 tone control] sounds downright wicked with the American Sound or ACtone going into it!). They can take a cheap amp that has little EQ tweaking on its own, and give it a whole load of character! I have a 1 watt Marshall DSL tube head that sounds thin and brittle on its own. However, the American Sound pedal going into it gives the DSL some great 'beef'...again, sort of a combination of the best of Fender and Marshall tone in one output. Also, the voice and drive controls on the Joyo pedals give you a broad range of tone colors. The Level control allows these Joyo pedals to hit a preamp in either a hard or a subtle way. The 'sterile' Katana amp is a great platform for experimenting with these Joyo pedals. Now, you have me jonesing for the British Sound pedal to round out my blues/classic rock stable of sounds.
Very nice demo, lots of killer tones, with and without amp. Loved the JCM. You just know how to squeeze the best out of your guitar and gear, Grande Nico!
+Paolo Memo thanks Paolo! I think it would be possible to get a more professional sound with better micing and better ir impulses...Thing is that pros don't bother with cheapo pedals! :) Cheers!
Nice playing and video. I have been using one of these lately as a pre amp into a magnum 44 power amp and cab. I'm amazed at the tones you can get from these.
Nice playing.....this is my favorite pedal.....and it takes other pedals really well.....i liked it so much, i finally bought the real thing.....the Tech 21....i liked the Joyo better....a little smoother, less harsh....
Gives a real cool Marshall type sound. Great fun to mess around with and the eq makes a more unique sounds. It sounds imo, really Led Zep with the bass up and mids and treble down a bit, drive less than midway and voice about half way.
Very good playing! I just purchased the Caline version of this pedal, which is also based on the Tech 21, and now I know the famous settings! By the way AWESOME shirt.
Thanks Nico! came for the review, stayed for the playing. I'm sold after watching this, so mine is on the way. Happy new year dude! Update, my British Sound became my main pedal, I actually use it as an amp and run my other overdrive pedals into it. It takes other pedals surprisingly well, and the EQ + the voicing control make it so versatile. I got rid of other pedals with the word "metal" on them, because I learned that stacking drives is the best way of getting a fat, mid-rich metal sound !
Thanks Scott! I am glad you like my videos. Recently I am going more for musical videos instead of gear even though I will still do some occasional gear video, I hope you will stick around nonetheless!
Good job , Nico ! A very good demo of this ... now interesting pedal . Plus who wants to carry around a big old heavy , overpriced , way too delicate glass tubed , massive triple transformered beast box that really doesnt do much ? Not me . Not anymore . There is so much more in life , and in gear to choose from today . The tone pallet , and great value gear has grown massively . This pedal sounded good . Thanks for the cool demo .
If you like it, it IS YOUR SOUND, don't worry .... :-)) Happy new year and to this new decade to you ..... Thank you for this great video on guitar playing ...
Seriously thinking of selling my Boss Blues Driver (massively overrated pedal) and buying one. I think the British sound with my Mosky Golden Horse in front of it would sound outstanding. Nails those Jimmy Page tones. Great playing!
Thanks for the excellent Demo I bought one because of this video I am super happy. I can get really good ACDC Rhythm sounds through my Peavy Valveking 212. I am amazed the build quality and sound of this pedal for under $40 delivered. Thanks this is what I was looking for.
I have the Joyo American, the best Marshall sound I have found so far in a Pedal is the Nux Plexi Crunch, this doesnt grab you in the throat the same way as the Nux, but is great value.
@@p10rambo Joyo American is a basic Amp sim, very good for the money, I plug it into my PA, for small Gigs/ practice, the Plexi Crunch is a drive pedal, works well with clean valve amps.
Excellent playing, I am very impressed! And these Joyos are very good sounding pedals. I believe they are copies of expensive extraordinary pedals. There are videos on youtube which seem to confirm this. The expensive pedals are developed in Europe or the US. But finally they are made in China to reduce production costs. So the Chinese guys know how they are made, and finally they offer them under the Joyo label. That's my assumption ... ;-) It's unbelievable to have a Marshall tone right out of the Joyo box into a DAW. But these ones make it possible and they are relatively noiseless.

But what I hear form the British style pedal sounds to me not bad in direct. With the American one the distortion is too often on the ugly side....
