Loved the Halo Reach music! I finished building this set about a week ago. Not much interior design, but the overall look of the set is accurate to the games. I just wish Cortana's head was done a little better, mostly the eyes. Looking forward to the review.

I figured the reach music was only fitting considering it's getting an upgrade soon. I only have a few gripes with the set. Overall though, I love it. I agree with you about Cortana. Her eyes are funky looking. Pretty good considering the size though

It’s too bad that there aren’t more big sets like this. I’d LOVE to see one of High Charity (I’d also love a Lego Star Wars Lucrehulk, but that likely won’t happen either). There’s a wide array of different sets they could make. I’m sure if 343 did a better job with the ip and if we got that Megablocks game we’d have more cool sets. It’s also too bad that Megablocks seems to be in decline with a bunch of the brands they once had now being made by Lego.
What’s a set you’d want to see? You could also throw in other IPs you wish Megablocks would make sets of.

Mega’s quality bar has never been higher. Their products are genuinely very good. I’ll forever be sad we didn’t get the mega bloks game. Maybe some day. I just bought a Witcher set for dirt cheap that looks quite nice. I haven’t had the chance to build it just yet.
I love diorama sets. Lego has a few Star Wars ones that are really cool. They have a Pod racing scene, a Death Star trench, etc. I’d love to see something like that. A Pillar of Autumn set akin to the Infinity would be really cool too. We’ve gotten the Forward Unto Dawn twice and the Infinity but still no Pillar. Which to me, is the most iconic ship design. Not that I dislike Infinity or FUD, POA just has a special place in my heart.
I’d love to see some Sea of Thieves stuff but I think that would be better suited for Lego. Dark Souls would also be very cool and probably more in Mega’s wheelhouse. I love the environments in those games and would be thrilled to build Anor Lando or something. Totally unrelated but I wish Lego would make more Scooby Doo sets. I just want a bunch of mini figs of the monsters.

That’s good news. What I meant by their decline is that you don’t see as many licenses as you used to (I know they had SpongeBob for a while. Someone made a video talking about Lego and Mega’s missed opportunities using that IP. Speaking of SpongeBob, Battle for Bikini Bottom is currently on GamePass. It’s a remake of this 3D platformer collectathon that came out during the PS2 era. The thing is a tremendous amount of fun and I was excited after learning about the remake. Sadly, it didn’t include the cut content that was promised thanks to a certain disease messing the world up. My mind was blown when I learned that there’s this cool modding scene and speedrunning community for the original), same goes for original themes like that dragon one, and it’s a coin toss as to whether or not you’ll find what you’re looking for at the store (granted, I haven’t gotten anything from them since I was in Elementary/Middle School, and I’m in my early-mid twenties. So, I’m out of the loop and mostly an outsider looking in. What I’ve seen so far hasn’t really interested me like a lot of the big Lego sets do. I’ll mostly look at them when I’m at the store). After posting the original comment I watched this video talking about the state of the brand (date was March 3 2023, so it could very well be outdated) where the people in it mentioned a lot of the same issues I’ve noticed (apparently the distribution thing is actually really bad where you have to look long and hard to get what you’re looking for. The online shopping experience is also pretty bad where a lot of the sets are bought up by scalpers, and the official sites don’t give very good information). Along with the thing you mentioned about high quality sets/figures; and now they’re able to make sets based on the different games, instead of just the current one. I saw a video made by some other guy saying that one of the official sites went down fairly recently, and that a lot of the information/official artwork sadly hasn’t been archived. Hopefully, this doesn’t point towards anything bad with the company.
Do you think you’d ever make a video talking about what your idealized version of a Megablocks Halo game would be? That would be interesting to see. Rocketsloth has a great video covering the game we sadly never got.
Yeah. I agree with you about a Pillar of Autumn set, along with the other things you mentioned about diorama sets. Those would be really cool to see. There’s various MOCs showing what kinds of cool things could potentially exist.
Something I’d love to see, but know will not ever happen is for Lego or Megablocks Command and Conquer sets (you can buy the complete collection on Steam, and they go on sale from time to time). Sadly, C&C as a brand is basically dead since EA ran it into the ground, and rts games are super niche so the sets wouldn’t have mass appeal. I’ve seen a few MOCs, but sadly not an entire fan lineup. Other things id like to see that almost certainly won’t exist are Half-Life, Fallout, Legend of Zelda, and Shrek (we almost got a Shrek level for that Lego Dimensions game. Sadly, it didn’t get made. I’d buy the set even though I probably wouldn’t buy the game).

Mega’s distribution is really really bad these days. I haven’t seen a Halo set in store in like 6 months. Maybe longer. It’s all Pokémon, which I have zero interest in.
Funnily enough, Lego had the SpongeBob IP many years ago. I had a couple of the sets when I was very young. That was my first experience with Lego and toys of that variety. They were somewhat primitive and nowadays, they’re ungodly expensive. Sadly, I no longer have them and due to their inflated price, I don’t believe I ever will. I played through the Battle of Bikini Bottom remaster. I had no nostalgia for it simply because I’d never played the original but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
A video on what I’d like to see regarding the mega bloks game is a good idea. I’ll add it to my list of things I’d like to make.
EA loves to destroy great franchises, unfortunately. They have 3 of some of the most revered franchises in gaming and they refuse to do anything with them because they’re somewhat not profitable enough. Dead Space, Titanfall and Mass Effect are dead and likely have no chance of revival, despite their obvious successes. Titanfall 2 is widely regarded as one of the greatest FPS’s of all time. The recent Dead Space remake allegedly sold over 2 million copies which somehow means it underperformed. The studio responsible has been reassigned to supporting roles for Battlefield now. It’s just a damn shame and really frustrates me to think about.
I think Fallout Mega products could be possible. The franchise is huge and now that Microsoft owns it and has an ongoing relationship with Mattel, I could see it happen.

That’s really unfortunate. I don’t really have any interest in pokemon stuff either. Haven’t really cared about the series since as far back as middle school or elementary. Also, the ONLY jrpgs I like are the Mario ones since timed hits are a fun mechanic. Sure, most of them are just quick time events and mini games that aren’t very advanced, but they’re far more engaging than selecting through a menu while the enemy patiently waits.
Yeah. I was aware of that. In fact I had a few (sadly took them apart a long time ago). I liked how the sets were loosely based on different locations/episodes. On the video talking about the missed opportunities of the license the guy said that Lego’s sets allowed kids to have more fun since they were recreations of various locations, but like you said they were pretty basic. He also said that when Mega had the license they mostly just made character packs, and sadly didn’t do a lot of recreations so it fell kind of flat. Now some other brand has the license and that’s why Lego hasn’t made anything new, despite there being demand as evidenced by various Lego Ideas submissions. There’s also some Chinese brand who has the license as well. It’s too bad that Lego doesn’t have the license because I’m sure they could make some cool stuff (I’d want recreations from BFBB and the other games like the Movie one, and Creature from the Krusty Krab. That last one was a very weird and fun game. I wish that could get Rehydrated, and same goes for other games).
BFBB is probably one of my FAVORITE games. I had so much fun playing that game as the kid, and still have the original cd. Such a shame the promised cut content didn’t get added to the remake (they put some of the stuff in this multiplayer mode nobody wanted). Beta64 has an excellent video talking about the game’s cut content and it’s really interesting. He also has some cool videos on Luigi’s Mansion, Mario Galaxy, and other games. Sadly, he hasn’t posted anything lately.
Good luck on that Megablocks game video if you get around to it (Don Matrick was in charge of Xbox around the time it was cancelled, and I’m sure he had a hand in it. He’s the reason why Xbox entered into stagnation during the Xbox One, laid the foundation for the current disastrous state. With the various exclusives going elsewhere and Xbox being rebranded to Microsoft Gaming the ONLY way I can see them not jumping ship and turning things around are if the rumors about the next system being a console/pc hybrid are true).
Yeah. I saw all of that. It’s really crazy how greedy EA is. If they were smart they’d be able to make numerous spinoffs for their various franchises, along with the mainline entries. I had a tremendous amount of fun with Titanfall 2 (the ending was bitter sweet and a great sendoff for the robot. I really like how they strengthened the robot and player character’s bond through gameplay and the occasional dialogue options. I also liked how the level design was built around the advanced movement. Other games that tried to copy that failed since they didn’t go far enough, it was at odds with the core gameplay, and the levels usually weren’t built around the mechanics). I definitely NEED to get around to playing Dead Space and Mass Effect. Both are really cool settings (Mass Effect 3’s original ending would’ve revolved around Dark Energy, and made the Reapers into this cyclic threat who’d let organic civilizations progress to the point where they could use biotics in the hopes that they’d find a solution to Dark Energy killing the universe early. A Star in the second game dies too soon because of this problem. Having the Reapers wipe out civilizations because they’re incompatible with machine was dumb, and making peace between the Quaren and Geth in the same game literally disproves that).
Turns out my wish for Lego Zelda was granted in the form of a Deku tree set. Although, the price is completely outrageous. It will be interesting to see where else this leads (again, you should check out the series if you haven’t. It’s a tremendous amount of fun).
Let’s hope that Megablocks Fallout actually happens with the success of the show and other stuff. There’s a lot of cool sets they could make.

No relation to the video, this is just a dumb question I have. Have you ever seen this AMAZING show called Xavier Reneged Angel? Based on the name you’d think it would be an anime, but thankfully that couldn’t be further from the truth (there’s only a few of those I actually find watchable. They include Halo legends, The Boondocks, and certain arcs/seasons from Dragon Ball Z). It looks like PS2 graphics, and if you didn’t know it was a really cool show that aired on Adult Swim you’d assume that you’d stumbled upon the weird side of RUclips (my FAVORITE side). The main character has backwards legs, brown fur across his body, a bird beak for a nose, and a snake for one of his hands. The show is VERY weird, and you’ll either like the humor or you won’t (some of my friends and cousins LOVED it, others just couldn’t get into it). There’s no growing to like it. The thing proves that cleaver/subtle wordplay and puns can be really funny because it’s super well written. You can find a bunch of clips and complete episodes of the show on RUclips and Daily Motion. Me and one of my cousins binged the show and enjoyed every second of it. It would be hard for me to tell you what my favorite part or episode was because the whole thing is just so good. Watching each episode multiple times is mandatory to catch all the jokes.

Never seen nor heard of. I’ll add it to my list

It’s truly phenomenal. Although, if you get easily offended, disturbed, or grossed out maybe don’t watch it. The jokes are really densely packed. There will be like 4 going at once that are just setups to more magic.
Some of my favorite episodes were Going Normal, the Squatopia one, this other one where Xavier becomes the guardian angel of this kid on a wheelchair, the one where he steals a bunch of babies is also hilarious.
In the first episode a bunch of computers are acting up so people dump them in the lake. Then the computer virus spreads through the water to people. The main character Xavier then needs to use a human virus to infect the computers, and goes to an Army base to get a literal jug of aids to dump in the lake. In a Squatopia one they go through a literal Underground Railroad to escape from the freedom of Squatopia and go to Burning Person (this one guy said they changed the name to Butning Person because they’re not going to be sexist. In this day and age women can be set on fire too😂. There was this other guy who needed Xavier to smuggle him out of Squatopia because he was going crazy from all this freedom. He couldn’t leave the normal way because that would be a choice🤣). In one of the episodes he made himself remember that he talked to his young self to train himself and that retroactively made it happen. One of the jokes you’ll see occasionally is that Xavier unintentionally caused his deaths in a building fire that was ruled to be arson (also sounds like our-son). In one episode he went to this 50s insane asylum to find his mom and their remedies were lobotomies and hitting the unruly patients with a cattle prod🤣
Like I said previously the show isn’t for everyone. If it doesn’t click for you after watching a few episodes or a bunch of clips then it won’t work out. You either like it or you don’t.

    • @shreksnow1918
      @shreksnow1918 Месяц назад +1

The reason why he stole a bunch of babies is because their mom took one of them on a slide, and he was too dumb to look over and realize that they weren’t abandoned. He then learns that a bunch of babies were stolen, and doesn’t realize that he has the missing kids.
There was this other episode where this homeless guy was addicted to glue. Later in the episode the same homeless guy says “I need a stronger adhesive” and just starts stapling his own arm🤣
There’s also this great episode where Xavier literally talks to himself (there were two of him arguing) and says all this really weird dumb stuff. In the same episode he was looking for his father’s killer, and a cloud in the shape of his dad says “son, it was you who killed me”. In response Xavier says “what kind of stupid name is Yoo-hoo?” because the voice was echoey and he’s too stupid to realize that he’s the cause of everyone’s problems.

I know and I’m sorry. I had full intentions on doing it but my life got very busy. The more time that passed, the more I felt it became less relevant. Making this video was sort of an experiment for me and while I did enjoy making it, my true passion is story telling. So I’ve decided to shift my focus to lore related content instead. I have a new lore video in the works as I type this. Again, I’m sorry the review never came.
I’ll tell you this though: it’s a great set and I’d highly recommend it to any Halo fan. It’s obviously not to scale, otherwise it’d be ridiculously big but it’s still a great piece, regardless.
